VSG Maintenance Group
Saturday April 15
Weight 117, calories around 2200. I felt like I was eating everything in sight, so I'm lucky my weight isn't up more! That's what happens when my calories are really low for a while. Hopefully that is out if my system. I woke up hungry yesterday, continued feeling that way all day AND I had a glass of wine in the late afternoon and one with dinner. Danger, danger! I don't feel so hungry today (and I'm staying away from wine).
The weather has been really nice here - it was around 60 again yesterday. I took DH for a haircut, then we went for a beach walk and puttered around some stores (then had that glass of wine to celebrate my first real day of my modified work schedule). DH enjoyed the day. I also was able to make some calls to the local Alzheimers support organization to follow up in getting DH (and me) into some support groups and got some information from the senior center - I did notice that they had an Alzheimer's support group meeting there but always in the middle of the day (on one of the days I'm not available right now). Hmmm...
DH passed the phone screening interview for the clinical trial yesterday, so he will have a 3 hour in-person screening in 10 days. Basically this is to make sure he is early enough in Alzheimer's to be in the study. The neurologist had warned that he might not be.
DH and I are going to the gym, then finding some activity to do. There are a few this week, but it will be busier on Cape Cod than usual in the spring because it is school vacation week.
Have a good Saturday!

Eating still heavy on the N&Y. Occasionally a real meal thrown in.
FIL started having periods of memory lapse. trying to hang clothes in the wrong closet. Suspect TIA's but that is a catch all diagnosis. There is a memory center in Little Rock that is suppose to be really good. He has an appointment for an eval. The docs / We are suggesting he give up driving. He doesn't want to. It would be hard to know if his driving is worse because he has had frequent fender benders all his life.
Mom to the doctor day before yesterday. Scheduled her for a sleep study later this month. Went back to our house that afternoon and sprayed 3 acres for weed control. They are really bad this year and I only have to spray every other year. Maybe it will be easier for DD#1 to keep the yard mowed.
Our 2 daughters and SIL are coming up to the woods today for the day. Said they had not seen their Mom in a Long time. Dads get no respect. LOL
Step: Working on the shop yesterday. Also built a plywood rack so I can get organized.
More later, David

Weight 157.8 (up .4 from yesterday)
This is where I struggle mentally. I have exactly 2 weeks until Hawaii. And 6 weeks from surgiversary. My chances of getting to goal are diminishing. I've gained 3.4 lbs. from last week. The gain from yesterday is perhaps explainable--I didn't workout and we had Mexican food--I did try to eat better, meaning chicken fajitas, but there were a few rogue chips and queso. But other than yesterday, I've been working out and definitely eating fewer calories than the norm. It takes me two weeks of hard, hard work to lose 3.4lbs. and yet it can come back on so easily ?? :(
Trying really hard not to totally lose discipline. I thought that the reason my 8lb. loss last year came back on so easily after vacation was because it hadn't been a real loss since I just cut calories so hard. But now I'm wondering if my body doesn't just hate being this low or lower. And now the next two days are going to be so difficult! Wahhh. I just wanna cry. And eat to spite myself.
Surely this isn't real gain, right?
Jus****er and the usual stair stepping of weight loss IMO. I feel your pain, tho.
Can you find body confidence in all that you have already done? I have to think there have been positive changes with the combination of exercise and loss. From the outside, you should be uber proud even if the scale isn't reflecting your other (but very real) accomplishments today.

Hi All,
122's.
My arm is a lot better. A major reason for wanting a smaller arm was cuz I ordered a Final Sale (no return) denim jacket. I couldn't get my right arm into the sleeve....not even to the elbow. I thought that it must have arms made for juniors so I tried to give it my daughter but she already has something similar. I was po'd with myself: I might have a shopping addiction but ultimately I am pretty cheap. On a whim, I tried the normal (flappy but small) arm and that sleeve went right on. I was doubtful that I could get the other arm down far enough but today the jacket fits aok. DH will have to cut it off of me if the arm swells while it is on.
Congrats to Ace and Devon! What great breeding! Ace just looks like a dog with great temperament, too. Can't wait to hear how Tesla behaves in her puppy classes. Devon, you looked great in the pics, too --- such a proud papa (well deserved!)
Off to yoga then taxes (that's right! I have not even started!!!!!) I'm going to take Liz's cue and get to a beach with the dogs at least one time this weekend. Traditional DH family Easter dinner tomorrow --- I will need to jazz it up a little bit for me, too. I have my eye on a home-made dessert too. My family will be stunned that I made a dessert....so rare these days.

Greetings Brave Ones
Well I wrote a long post but put it on yesterday's thread so read it there if you want. Weight up from salt and such. Feeling beat up from all the physical work of dog show. Must get stronger.
Won't repeat all the stuff from the post I just wrote. Tesla is all sacked out from the dog show. I think the range of her charge finally ran down.
She had the runs at the show which I think was stress. Imagine two old ladies at a rest stop on the way home celebrating that she had a well formed turd.
Anyway, its good to be home. Diane S

Having the Easter dinner tonight so many preparations ahead. Already made the cheesecake, on to the sides in a bit.
Warmer day but overcast.
Fogot to add that DS2 won't be able to go to Prom without people knowing it is him in drag because he and his date got voted on court. First drag Prom Queen in our little town? Perhaps. Hope there isn't pig blood hanging from the rafters in the gym (Carrie reference) for those of you that remember the movie.

Hi all,
Taking a much needed little break before a club banquet tonight. I need a shower! LOL! Ace is zonked out on the other queen bed in our hotel room. He has been utterly delightful and perfectly well mannered in the room. I think he enjoys having me to himself. He has done very well this weekend and I'm very proud of my little puppy (okay, maybe not so little anymore, but a puppy nonetheless!). He's done well, though I was hoping he would win sweepstakes (a puppy competition) at least one of the two days. His older half brother bested him both days. C'est la vie!
Woke up to a vandalized dog show van this morning. Some jerk smashed in the driver's side front door window. Spent two hours this afternoon getting it replaced. Boooooo! Thank goodness for good insurance!
Eating has not been great, but not too bad either. Have no idea about my weight. Have not gotten enough water either, but am not feeling dehydrated today. Thursday was bad and I had to chug water by the glass full. I hadn't had any water from 7 am to 3 pm. Not good.
Was great meeting Diane S. Wonderful lady!!!! I will post a pic of the beautiful Airedale figure she created for me. It is absolutely charming and a wonderful piece to add to my collection of Airedale statues. (BTW, she doesn't need a makeover. She just looks like she lives in Humbolt county! - You'd have to live here to understand that, I guess! She looks fine and very, very healthy!) Diane is also far too kind about my weight, but again it is all perspective, right? Hope to be able to post a pic of Ace and me so you can all see my boy and the current me.
