Good morning everyone

goodness, we are all over-comers. Kairk and all you heavy sleepers, just know that am green with envy. Joey, it will melt off.

A great food day and an hours walk in the glorious sunshine. It was even a tinge warm.

Happy Tuesday!

Good morning, all!

126's. I'm up a bit. According to the new scale, it is muscle and water. It is trying to hard to be my friend.

Super duper busy at work is making me a dud here at home. Having trouble completing the last 10% of big projects at both places.

Hope everyone feels some sun today! Hug your health.

Shel

137.4 - well, that is a fine How Do You Do! Ate well yesterday, just over 1,200 calories and exercised for the first time in forever and I gain .4. HHHmmmmppphh!

Life is always exciting at my house (at least it has been lately). DS#2 has plans to go to Prom in full drag. He is sewing his own dress and has bought a few wigs (he thinks he will wear the red one). Not sure our small little hick town will survive this, but got to give the kid credit for doing what he loves. I did e-mail the Dean of Students last night regarding his plan. Anxious to see what their response will be.

Day off work today. Plan is to exercise and clean the house/do laundry. Dreary, wet day. I so want to go hiking outside in the sun!

up .4 is because yesterday you exercised for the first time in forever. That's why! don't sweat it.

DS#2... I like your approach. Proactive is good in this case!!!! So here is my unsolicited advice (take it, leave it, or tell me to shove it...) Sit down with DS#2 and ask him why he wants to go in full drag regalia - is it an expression of who he truly is? is it for shock value? will any of his friends also go in drag? what purpose does going in drag serve? what is the message he is trying to convey? is there a better way to deliver the message? Also, ask him if he is ready to deal with the consequences of his self expression. Dragging/outing oneself always comes with a price. Is he ready to pay that price? He's only, what, 16 or 17? Does he understand that he will be the object of jock strap ridicule and homophobic prejudice? Is he ready to lose "friends"? Does he understand that the coming months could be pretty tough at school if he becomes the center of cyber teasing and bullying? Having been there, done that (though not in drag - the 80s were hard enough AIDS fear and homophobia running rampant and besides, I didn't have the body for drag! LOL!) I understand the consequences of being gay in a less than accepting atmosphere. What helped me was my wonderful mom and dad. My dad had a similar talk with me as I'm suggesting you have with DS. His concern meant the world to me and I knew I had his support and love. In 19******a in which some of my friends had been disowned by parents for their sexuality having my parents accept me was invaluable. It helped me know I wasn't "wrong". Please give DS#2 my regards and tell him I'm impressed by his strength of character.

You make very good points, most of which I have already discussed with DS#2 but some could stand to be re-iterated. He will be attending with a girl - dressed in a pantsuit (so a bit more masculine). A group of his friends (none of which are gay themselves that I am aware of) are supportive and cheering him on but there will be some students for sure that will not be supportive. I cautioned him about being teased and even the possibility of some hate violence. He said he already gets teased and it doesn't bother him (though I doubt that is true). Dressing in drag is really a passion of his, though mostly done in the privacy of his bedroom/bathroom. He will spend hours perfecting his make-up and will only share on an Instagram or Snap Chat acct. that I am banned from. Not sure why since I am supportive of him in whatever he does (as long as it is legal and doesn't hurt others). He doesn't think the kids will know it is him - but of course they will. He does speeches on the history of make-up (with pictures of him made-up like Boy George) and did a report in Spanish class on his favorite TV program - RuPaul's Drag race! He says he will be the hottest one at the dance - and he does have a body for drag!

I'm glad your parents were supportive of you as well, especially in the 80's. The world is a different place these days in terms of acceptance but we still have a ways to go as you know!

We love our kids through it all! I think as long as they know that and that we support them always (emotionally) they will end up in a good place ultimately.

Sounds like your parents were very loving. Our son chose to come out in his first year of college because many in his high school would not be accepting. We had been pretty certain he was gay for about a year, but felt it was his decision when he wanted to talk about it. He knew we would love him whatever he chose to do in his life (though I am SUPER happy he is near home now)!

Weight same as yesterday - I think. Too much movie popcorn yesterday. Saw Beauty and the Beast. AWESOME movie!

Short on time this morning - client coming at 10:00. Will probably come back and add to the post later today. Shrink session yesterday is worth writing about...

Later...

205. Put on a blouse this morning and was shocked at how much it shrunk. chin to chest. I seriously have to undo this damage and cut back. It is not just giving in to temptations, which I have been doing pretty well, but reducing the little extras that have crept in. I track everything and will examine where I can make changes. Without looking, I know the changes are needed after work. Back to protein and "free" veggies for dinner with liquids and jello afterwards even if I have to get up in the night for the bathroom. I hate getting up in the middle of the night, but it will be worth it to get back to where I was and lower.

Got a phone call from my crazy aunt on my way to work with "bad news". She is very dramatic so I wasn't expecting the news to be that my cousin is in the hospital with severe burns from a propane tank exploding. (His mother and I are close and has been sending my grandsons a card every month since their mother got sick with a McDonald's gift card.) I sent her a private message that we are praying for him. (Feel free to say a prayer or two for him.)

While thinking of his burned skin, the intense pain and being wrapped up like a mummy, I remembered my excess skin. I texted my doctor to ask if the skin would be viable as a transplant. If so, I will have it removed and donate it to him. I was waiting to lose more weight, but if it could actually be used to help him heal, I will do it now. I have read conflicting things online, so I went directly to my doctor and sent my cousin a message to ask the doctor.
