VSG Maintenance Group
Sunday April 2
No weight still (on the road), 1530 calories. Wanted a quick close place for dinner after driving 9.5 hours so we went to Cracker Barrel. It was so noisy that we left immediately and went to Ruby Tuesday instead (no fine dining last night). I also needed a glass of wine... DH got one as well and spilled it all over the place, breaking the glass as well. Shooting glass went everywhere and even cut my palm. I guess it is his confusion with spatial relationships causing things like this? Anyway my Linda jeans got soaked. I wonder if white wine works like vinegar? Regardless a wash of these premium jeans is needed this week so I will follow Linda's washing instructions!
We are in Fredericksburg VA so it should take us 8.5-9 hours to get home (if traffic allows), so we will be home by dinner time. DS will be there and dogs are back from boarding as DS picked them up yesterday. I hated having to board them but they do well in their shared room (very expensive though). We will be glad to see them (DS and dogs).
Have a good, relaxing Sunday!

Good morning all
Liz be safe on the road. Devon, I too am back to being obese. Cannot seem to get a grip. My fellow travellers I so appreciate how you are protecting your skinny. Devon, again, we can do this.
Diane congrats on getting DH to use a tax shoebox. Ours is a drawer except when it isn't. Shop, car, and for some reason the bottom rung of the basement stairs.
Walked for an hour and it was not raining. More sunshine today but it is cold!
Food on point.
Glad to be on this supportive board! Enjoy this day of rest.
136.4 - still holding serve as my DH would say.
Should have taken DH's cue and exercised in the morning like him, before the energy left. I had good intentions but the body was weary after a day of errands.
I think the weather is supposed to be nice again today. Church and then????? (Pssssst, Paula - take a walk!)
Still need to get some vinegar for my Linda jeans. She is such a good salesperson - got at least 3 of us to buy the jeans sight unseen and sans fitting room. Too bad she didn't get a commission.
Thinking of planning a little trip to Chicago sometime in May - after chemo and radiation and before surgery - just DH and I.
Supah Sunday Sexy Sojourners!
Paula
Happy SSSS day!
Have I mentioned lately how much I appreciate the honesty of his board? My own brain is the master of deceit. I need your mirror to see myself. Your reflection also includes the determination and resilience worthy of band on a holy quest. I am hopeful, something I lacked pre-VSG. I am sure I would have lost that hope post VSG without this group. Thank you so much.
Well, Saturday was sans-snacks if one doesn't consider volume fruit a snack. Who buys this stuff? I do! I need to buy fruit at the expensive organic grocery store and not at Costco. It isn't value if I am going to eat that much.
Liz, fingers crossed that you can walk into home filled with pups tonight. I enjoyed Linda's jeans yesterday, too. Sadly, no wine. (Alcohol hasn't appealed to me post VSG so I haven't invited it back.)
Paula, I know Chicago isn't too far...2-3 hours? Mindful that everyone's journey is different, I say that for myself the fatigue and general feeling of unwell was cumulative. I hid it pretty well in the beginning even from family. (Eventually there was no hiding.) Make sure you have a super comfy place to lounge.....there may be a lot of sleeping/napping. A cocoon of rejuvenation before the next step.
Hug your health today!
Shel

Weight has been stable the past several days - within .2. Hey look, I'm maintaining.... LOL! Seriously, that cracked me up....
Another busy grooming day - 3 dogs. I chose to look at yesterday's grooming as payment for my Costco run and a quick dinner out with some left over play money. How to view today's???? Whatever the case, I can't scoff at $700 in grooming money for one weekend, right?
Allergy season ha**** with a vengeance! I had a bit of a sinus headache last night that decided to grow and grow. Took some Nyquil to ease the congestion and the headache. Got up at 4 or so and took 2 ibuprofen. Got up at 6:30 and took two more. I feel like I have a migraine hangover (some of you may know what that is...), but finally, no pain! YAY!
Bought some new dog show clothes. Still need another pair of trousers. Glad I won't feel stuffed into my clothes for the upcoming show. Will also have to get a pair or two of shorts for the spring.
Maybe today I will start to combat my fat. I do not know. It sounds like the thing to do, but the addict brain is saying no in the background.
I think maintaining during the drug switch is pretty darned good. Give yourself credit! You are doing great thru this start up mini euphoria

"LOL! Seriously, that cracked me up...." Enjoy the mood elevation. Isn't it amazing what a med can do? Some people feel that way all the time.
We groomed one of our dogs yesterday. DS#1 got all the grooming stuff for his poodles so while we were dog sitting we used his equipment.
I think food will always be a battle. I have been off plan this week.

No weight today. Calories at least 1700. Just in for a check in post.
Shel, the only hair blowin in the wind is poodle hair. I did enjoy the ride. The dogs are so much better when they are tired. Kinda like kids.
Diane S, great to have the taxes done. What does that feel like?
More later, David

Greetings Maintenance Buddies
Well hell, 135 today and for the life of me don't know what did that. Dinner was hummus and a cucumber. I did eat some late night peanuts. Guess thats it. I need to up my protein. Checked my bmi and its 23.2. Not horrible but it says I am 10 lbs overweight.
Yeah I gotta get some dog show clothes too. Around here its either kmart clothes or little boutiques that have weird hippie stuff with lots of leather. I gotta find some nice pants because if I wear a skirt Tesla will grab ahold of it and be dragged around!!! Not acceptable show ring behavior. Devon maybe you can give me some handling tips.
Liz have a safe trip and sorry you cut your hand. An omen that says its time to retire.
Carbon keep on walking. Its so good for you and inspires us all.
Yeah Dave its good to have taxes done. Or almost - have to give them a once over today and then get them all copied and mailed. We have a separate business return for my art so its four returns total.
Watched an interesting moving last night. "In Bruges" about some hit men. Very dark but quirky. Watched a Cohen brothers movie the other night "Hail Ceasar" which was pretty good. Better than exploding aliens.
Well we are all having our struggles. I am trying to think of things we could do with this group to help things along. Any ideas? Get good sleep everyone. Thats maybe step one. Step two is for me to forget about Mexican food and pizza and eat nothing but chicken and veggies. Now on to that second cup of coffee loaded with half and half .....
