137 OTD - What the heck? I couldn't have eaten more than 1,000 calories yesterday and am up a pound. Though I am not tracking, so I guess I could be off. Will track today and see where I am. Still no exercise.

Back to work today. My research paid off. Employee health nurse was making up rules on her own, not substantiated by known guidelines.

Have a fab Friday everyone!

Good for you Paula (on work, not the pound)! I was writing while you were so am deleting that and putting it here.

Weight 116.5, calories 1542. This morning we finish packing and leave mid-day. We are going to stop tonight in Jacksonville to visit with deceased DD's best friend and her family. We haven't seen their two girls in a couple of years and it will be great to touch base. My daughter stayed with them to help when their older child came through adoption and was the godmother of the younger one, though the baptism actually occurred after Elise's death.

I have felt that DH has gone downhill and it really showed yesterday. He was supposed to be packing while I was. I got all his bags out for him. I had finished my stuff and had to run to the store, so asked him to finish packing his clothes and even wrote a list of what type of clothing to pack where. When I got home an hour later, he had packed his travel bag with 2 sets of summer clothes (was supposed to be jeans and layers) and was taking a shower. All the drawers were still full. He said he was going to leave that stuff for next year (which would mean no summer clothes for up North - he doesn't have 2 sets of clothing). So I had to pack everything, he just couldn't do it. Then he couldn't figure out how to cook shrimp to put on his rice. I guess that's why it stayed frozen the entire time I was gone.

On a more positive note I spoke to the woman at BU about the clinical trial yesterday and she emailed me the paperwork to review.

I'll be checking in from Jacksonville to tomorrow morning. Have a great day!

Always eat a little off plan when we dog sit. It is kinda like our vacation. DS has unusual (for around here) alcohol selection and I enjoyed some last night. I get good pain control out of it. Took the dogs on a hike afterward. I also ate some honey nut oat cereal. Haven't eaten cereal since WLS. It was super sweet.

Paula, so glad you are back to work. It is about time you started catching a break. Even if you were the one doing the catching. Infection control nurses have a weird job. It makes it even more weird if they make up the rules.

I got the LAN cable hooked up in the shop so I now can type on the big computer. Just need to bury the cable but that will be a several day process because of my back. I can back fill the ditch with the tractor. The ground is soft now and mostly sandy rocks.

I will be taking my Mom to the doctor today. She has been having some wheezing. Better yesterday but bad enough I can here over the phone a couple of days ago. Cardiology said it was not heart related so we need to check pulmonary function test.

Have a fantastic Friday, David

I'll admit that I'm pretty disappointed by that. :( I'm hoping it's just a fluctuation. You'd think that with a stomach flu I'd at least hold here with a 1lb./week weightloss.

Yesterday was my highest cals. I'd had about 1000 before my sushi roll dinner. I didn't eat the whole roll, it didn't have spicy mayo, and I traded avocado for cukes. But it did have yummy cream cheese and a sweet glaze so I'm sure it wasn't super helpful.

No workout yesterday but will probably do cardio before a friend's birthday dinner tonight.

126's today.

Paula, good job providing Employee Health with cdif guidelines. Mythology weaves thru everything --- not just cdif precautions but reasons for obesity, starvation mode, etc etc etc. I will say (and then move on) that I would expect a hospital system employee health department to already follow evidence based guidelines for cdif precautions. But hey, I got my own sub-standard issues to work on so good for them for accepting.

Liz, gl on that study drug. It is hard for me to watch patients that I have known for 15 years progress thru cognitive decline. It must be several powers harder on you.

DianeS and Devon.....is that dog show this weekend? I expect pics!

Let's finish the work week strong, Looking forward to the weekend....will be sporting my new Linda jeans!

Tip on the jeans - wash them first. I put mine on for the first time last night and my fingers were turning blue from the dye!

Yes! I ran them thru a cycle last night and then let them soak overnight. Mine had a warning tag on it and for once I listened. The water this morning was lightly colored so I hope the worst of it is over gone.

Not doing well today already. My appetite has returned with a vengeance. And I just have no trust in my body's hunger signals anymore. Do I just mentally want more? Do I only want it because it's carbs? Because "it's friday"? Or am I legitimately hungry after eating so little for the past week and my body needs it.

Well, regardless this is not the type of fuel my body needs. I had my normal breakfast (poached egg, 1 slice canadian bacon, 1/2 english muffin) and now I've had 1 small glazed donut (less than 4") and two small mini cinnamon rolls. NUTS! And of course now I'm hungrier/cravings more than ever. Having a cup of tea, trying to think on what to do the rest of the day because Fridays are difficult and temptation land mines everywhere. My friend's birthday fiesta tonight will be a buffet of lots of challenging foods. Ugh.

New plan: smoked chicken breast and green beans for lunch because there's no way I'm making it until 8:30pm before eating again. appetite suppressant. workout to burn off at least one of my donuts. Dinner: no margs, try not to eat chips (maybe gum?) and fill up on fajita meat.
