Weight 115.75, calories 1462. Eating mostly on plan.

My 2 SILs who have been visiting in Florida are leaving today. The flooring replacement starts today (replacing carpet and linoleum with wood-look tile). Our friends in this development are away for the next few weeks, so we can stay at their place while the work is being done. I think I will work there and we will stay overnight when the tile can't be walked on in critical areas, but don't want to have to move everything.

DH remembered to give me a birthday gift yesterday that he had bought while DD was here. It is a bunch of shell ornaments for a Christmas tree. Not sure what to do? For some reason he thought we had a Christmas tree for here, but at this point we plan to be in Massachusetts for holidays (and there is barely room on that tree for the ornaments we have). I have the slip and could exchange them for something else). Should I (and not mention it)? He won't remember them by Christmas.

Another question for those on the know: There are 2 places in the condo with wallpaper (very tight to the wall). Do you think it would be okay to paint over it (I read a Bob Villa article which said you could)?

Have a great Tuesday!

First....Joey S...that attractive, radiant blonde behind "Bruce " can't be a grandmother !!! WOW !! Liz..You might want to get more insight from your DD about DH's gift, before making a final decision. If the two of them shared a major bonding experience while picking it out together, there may me more significance than you are aware of. On the other hand, if she tried to steer him away from the purchase...

So, after two $400+ water bills and racking my brain about where metered water could be freely running... it was the flapper valve in the en suite toilet. $150 fix, but no longer $$$ down the drain. Diane... how great that your water district cautioned you to look for a problem.

Zumba and walking Sadie yesterday, after the massage. We are nearing the end of Therapy Dog certification. Three more classes until we test. I am actually believing that Sadie will respond appropriately to my "leave it" command when encountering food on the ground and/or being offered food by hand. We are tapering off on training treats, which are not allowed during the test. The whole concern here, is that meds are often hidden in cheese in places like nursing homes, and ingesting them could be fatal for a dog. Sadie LOVES cheese. ?

Focusing on activities and daily goals continues to shift the "food forward" thoughts/priority that motivated and consumed me for 55+ years. See any correlations between Sadie's training and my retraining ?

Thank you.

I took my two puppies (Sid & John) for training and while Sid learned the leave it command, Johnny was inexplicably traumatized by it. He was never punished, he was never out of our sight, yet if we say leave it, he goes into army crawl position and stays put until we coax him. We don't use it often, but we have a lot of medication in the house, so leave it is a very good thing.

135.2 - up a pound.

Day off today but will be busy cleaning and switching around beds. New adjustable bed will be delivered tomorrow. DS#3 gets our fairly new $5,000 + sleep number bed, our old King sized bed that he is currently using will go to the dump and we will get our new bed. My parents will come for a visit starting tomorrow through Sunday. DS#2 is in the play Fiddler on the Roof Thursday-Saturday.

DH still doing well with his treatments. This week is a little less stressful for me as he can take himself to and from appointments and we are not awaiting big news regarding stage or treatments. The plan is made and we are just executing it. We will have a consult with a surgeon the beginning of April. One day at a time!

It was so cute, the other day he asked if he could become a co-author for the site.....ummmmmmm yeah, it's your site buddy! Ben is very much into research, highly published in his field, even has a book he wrote! His writing will be much better than mine!

159.6 yay for breaking the 160s. I never thought I would be so solidly in the 160s until it took all this work to get out. Calories: 1367, 73g protein, 117 g. carbs, 54 fat. Who knew my fat was so high? Gotta work on reducing that.

Workout: trainer weights workout minus trainer (approx. 1 hr) and 20 min. cardio

Pretty productive day yesterday considering I was tired and sore and did not want to workout. We had planned to do cardio, but saw that the movie tomorrow (today) would be much better (Pitch Perfect!) so toughed out weights instead. Highs yesterday were 93 degrees-first day of ?Spring?!! So of course we came home and grilled. I'd already prepped a cedar plank and spice rub so we tossed the salmon on the plank and grilled asparagus and served minted couscous alongside. It was great. And I already have skirt steak + veg marinating for tonight's dinner. Plan: cardio watching Pitch Perfect and then come home and take advantage of great weather by grilled fajita meat and veggies in cast iron skillet on other side. Since this will be a shorter workout day (1 hr.) I'm hoping to get a movie in tonight.

If you are eating good fats (monounsaturated) then no need to cut back if you are still in the caloric range you want to be in. Fats keep us sated longer and if you are mainly using mono's, you can go as high as 40% of your total calories!

P.S. - can I come over for dinner - both sound delish!
