Wt 217 calories ~1000

grew tired on not having decent internet so we signed up for dish network. It is fast. They said they got a new satellite on last week. Anyway I was watching the installation all afternoon and forgot to eat lunch and afternoon snack. Results lower calories I should become an installer.

DW is feeling some better. It is a nasty bug but it doesn't last long.

Something fishy going on with the post today. I hit return and it posted. Then there were 2 posts.

Hope everyone is feeling / doing better! David

LOL! My lowest calorie days are when I'm running around doing errands. I'm glad your internet speed is improved Dave. It is frustrating when you can't move around the internet these days.

Weight 116 OTD, calories 1514. LONG travel day yesterday. My flight wasn't until late (good price), but was delayed somewhat. It was 1 am when we got got back home, so I probably wasn't asleep until about 2. I did sleep a little bit later (6:30), but not much (sleep rules). It is just after 7 now and it is still dark here and everyone else is still asleep. Florida's light "window" is about an hour after Massachusetts (it would be sunup there now). Just checked - sunrise is 48 minutes later here in Florida and sunset is 45 minutes later. Looks like we lose 3 minutes of light (see below)!

Looking forward to being warm and getting the place organized here. I'm guessing we will go out for my birthday tonight so eating may not be optimal...

Have a wonderful Sunday!

I remain "in my zone". Weighing and recording exact weight in MFP, and then focusing on whether I am inside or outside of my designated 129-134 range is working for me. It helps me refrain from using the scale as THE measure of daily success.

I've reread recent posts and made lots of notes on portions of posts that I want to reflect/journal more on. Many recent posts resonated with me and put me in "ponder mode". Embracing hunger and "the struggle" rather than fearing them as "unanticipated and/or abnormal", is one example. Hunger is never fatal or a reason to trigger a knee jerk response. I choose to look at hunger as an opportunity to integrate the next CTB as my go to response. Distinguishing between head hunger and my body needing healthy fuel, and responding accordingly is a critical step in my recovery. I also want to dig deeper into what is actually going on when I feel like I am struggling. Have I tried to identify the real issue? Do I have a plan in place to begin to address it ? Do I have to modify my plan ?

I also want to reframe the immediate thought that my mind/body are dysfunctional in some way with embracing the way my mind/body functions as my current reality, and then identifying how I could function more efficiently and beginning to develop a plan to do so.

As you can see, I'll be looking at my Cognitive Behavior Therapy notes/materials more. Peeling the onion !

Love this post, Diane. Thank you. Fear as a first response to difficulty or discomfort can't possibly be the best first response all the time. Maybe it's not the best response any time.

Yes, much to ponder!

134 OTD.

On the docket for today: church, house cleaning, picture editing and not sure what else.

This next week will be busy. Play week for DS#2 - Fiddler on the Roof with performance Thursday, Friday and twice on Saturday. My parents will come Wed or Thurs through Sunday to visit and to catch the play. I work M-W-F and DH has radiation every day and chemo on Wed. this week. We should get our adjustable bed delivered this week too.

Sorry I have not been contributing much to the conversations as of late. I'll be fully back at some point, just more pressing issues right now!

I am glad your parents are coming into town. I am not close to my mom in particular. But even I found their presence in the house a great comfort during treatment -- as if the adults were there so I could relax. Be sure to let them help even if it is just you sneaking away for time alone to rejuvenate.

Wonky Sunday, my peeps!

No weight. My fancy scale says "step on, step on, step on" and an occasional "Hi :)" but no weight. My favorite yoga mat has Tink (4 lb Toy Fox Terrier) poo on it this morning.

DD, the new driver, is driving me to yoga this morning to practice freeway driving. What could go wrong?

Lots of sleep last night. I feel more like myself this morning.

Reflecting back on yesterday, it was a low-graze day, a weekend rarity. My meals were fuller volume so maybe that made a difference. I have to be careful with that, increased volume of anything can trigger me onward to bigger things.

Last week the plants of the week were spinach and quinoa. I have a giant spaghetti squash and cabbage for this week.

More than you need to know: since I started to replace some of my protein with plants, there has been no need for miralax

Hug your health and peeps today!

Shel

Do any of you other very grown-up women still play dress-up in your closets? I do and can easily waste an hour or two trying on clothes and packaging new fashion/styling costumes. It's a completely frivolous and pleasurable form of self-care for me. Based on hubby's deep commitment to getting dressed only once a day, I assume guys don't do this, but could be wrong. Sometimes I subject hubby to "What do you think about this?" fashion shows, but he only rarely has an authentic reaction to my stylings. Being a smart hubby, he nods tolerantly.

Nope, no closet dress up here. The most I have ever done is when I was quite thin was to try on this with this or that to see which made me look thinner and longer legged. It was an exercise in futility, so I stopped. Now that I'm big again, I quickly put on only what is comfortable and then avoid looking in a mirror, except for my nightly reality check. Among my other quirks with food, it's becoming more clear that I have a issues with body dysmorphia that mess with my ability to be satisfied with how I appear at any weight. I think it has gotten worse as I have aged.
