VSG Maintenance Group
Saturday. March 18
- Get up early EVERY morning (don't vary the time by more than 30-60 minutes even if up late the night before)
- Main meal more than 2 hours prior to bed (so intestines can settle)
- No food within 30-60 minutes of bedtime
- Go to bed at the same time every night (when possible)
- Have a quiet routine leading up to bedtime for the last hour or so (reading, TV, music) - no phone or deep discussions
- Have room be cool
- Have room be as dark as possible
- If need to read in bed to fall asleep (I do), have room lights off (use a book light)
- Wear comfortable earplugs (I use Macs silicone ones)
It may sound a little extreme, but it works for me. Total wind-down before bed, then dark/cool/no sound for sleeping.

Liz, thank you! I do most of these most of the time. Am very good about the not eating pre-bedtime. But I can certainly improve on the COOL room and getting up at the SAME TIME bits (especially that one).
Normally I get up very early. Maybe too early. Hmmm ... going to think about that one.
Thanks again.
And if anyone else has more tips for good sleeping habits, please do volunteer them.

I'm not sure what you mean? I flew down last night to spend the next 2 weekends here, then we will begin the drive back from a Florida to Massachusetts on 3/31 or 4/1. Alas, I will be doing all the driving. Next year may be different (when I'm retired - still weird to think that I will be).

Greetings Post St Patrick's People
Well I wore something sort of green to the gallery and made a few sales but the holiday is a big nothing to us. And DH is Irish in ancestry. The most green we did was green beans with our shrimp. Back to 133 today.
Yeah wine can be deadly to weight control. I like a glass or two of good red each evening. It actually keeps me from eating other stuff unless I am some place where there is a big "spread" of nibble food. We don't keep that at home. Well ok, DH does but I refuse to touch it.
Glad you are better Dave but sorry you have to be on nurse duty. Those illnesses seem to run through the house (no joke intended).
Well glad Momsey that new job seems good. Hope it works out.
Shell, Hippo yawns and Mickey Mouse hands - what an image you create. Sorry the lymphdima is acting up.
Its pouring rain and I slept in with various dogs. Was planning some deck clean up but thats a no go now. Might be a movie day. Might go to the gym if I could figure out what to do there. Still some financial stuff to unsnarl for the gallery.
What? Butter in coffee? Thats a road I am not going down. I am way too liberal with the half and half as it is. Did it during my weight loss phase and didn't tell Dr. C or he would have banished it. If I were out of half and half and or coffee I would brave the worst snow storm to get it.
Devon here's hoping the new med works out.
Time for more coffee and loafing. Diane S
Don't put that in my head: I love both!

Hey Gang!
Busy day with morning grooming class (5 students today), then had a client come at 1:00. Just finished a bit ago and now waiting for an Airedale puppy to come for evaluation and ear setting (glue the tips in place to get them oh, so perfect - not at all harmful, hurtful, or cruel).
Food front is good today. Med transitioning continues. However, today I have a headache. I do not know if it is a symptom of the new med or just sinus congestion. It's a bit tricky, you know. New med that has side effects of possible stuffy nose, sinus congestion, but it's also spring like here and so much is in bloom. Also the literature says to call your MD if you have any of a list of particular sided effects of which headaches are one. I'm also tired, tired right now. Go figure. I am interested to see what happens when I up the dose in 10 days and completely stop the other med.
Plus of this new med is that I'm SLEEPING LIKE A LOG! It is surprising. I woke up at 4:45 am, got up and made sure Blue fed the pup and went back to bed and was able to get back to sleep until 7:15 or so. Nice!
Feeling good about getting back on track with fidelity. Trainer asked me about my nutrition yesterday and I came clean and said, eh, eating like crap lately. He smiled and mentioned that I was doing well for a while there and it was great that I knew the difference between crap eating and healthy eating. He also made note that it seemed to him I got off track around the same time I got the news about Blue's singleton pregnancy. Astute trainer!
If anything, I'm on an interesting ride.
