Good morning and welcome Rennelle. Glad you have found us.

Roxy and Barbsleeved where are you?

Congrats on the lost pounds Dave. Shel you are doing so well as is everyone. And congratulations to you gym exercisers!!!! Nice.

soooooo, yesterday heard this gem: " my problem is that I say yes but I act no"

OUCH. Myself in a nutshell.

Diane believe that you know Elina, how is she doing? I wonder about some of the "earlier " souls. Mikey Mike and that group. Have not seen Frisco popping in lately. Just curious.

Enjoy your Sat everyone. Privileged to be on this board.

Good Morning Carbon! Bracing for the time change tonight. Apparently the dog read ahead as she was crying to go out at 3:30 am instead of the usual 4:30. Cold here after about 8 inches of snow yesterday (17 degrees right now). Chance of snow again on Tuesday, but I'll be in Jersey City for business. I leave for my last 2 weeks in Florida a week from today - it will be nice to be back in the warmth again!

Weight 116.75, calories 1320. Today I'm going back to the gym for the first time since PS and Zumba again tomorrow.

I hope everyone has a wonderful and warm Saturday!

Wt 217.6. I weighed twice. That is down 10 over the past few weeks. Must be the moving diet. Calories 1350.

moved my little tractor to the woods yesterday. And some paint I didn't want to freeze. May need the tractor to clear a path if we get snow tonight. I would rather it miss us.

Wow! What an incredible loss! Good for you Dave! Do you attribute it to your new medication?

I think that is the only thing that has changed. I was obsessively watch YouTube video one subject at a time and I'm not doing that. I possibly am grazing less. I'm a lot more active. And moving years of stuff, as you know, is physically active. So less sedentary and increased activity.

It's sleeting outside; snow coming around sunrise. I plan to stay inside today.

Did better this week with my 7 veggies/fruits a day goal. In our case, it's all about the groceries we buy. We buy it, we eat it; we don't buy it, we don't eat it. Hmmm ... that's sort of heavy. ;)

136 OTD. No exercise. At least I am sort of maintaining through all my current stress!

Official diagnosis for DH is Stage IIIb Adenocarcinoma of the esophagus. The cancer has gone through all layers of the esophagus and is in some lymph nodes in the stomach. The doctors are hopeful since he is young and otherwise in good shape. The next step happens Monday already - surgery to get a port put in for chemo. We also meet with radiation oncology on Monday and they will start to develop a plan for radiation. He will start both radiation and chemo in the next week or two. I think they said 5-6 weeks of chemo and radiation, chemo once per week, radiation daily on weekdays. A few weeks to recover and then surgery in Milwaukee to remove the tumor and maybe some lymph nodes. He will also be getting a feeding tube in the next few weeks (another surgery) as once he starts radiation it is likely that he won't be able to eat well and they want to keep his calories up as much as possible.

DS#1 seems to be doing a bit better. He has agreed to see his psychiatrist and discuss the possibility of going on medications. Appointment made for early April. He is also showing signs of completing some of his assignments at school. He really only has one academic class this semester (College Prep Writing) but is struggling to get things done. He continues to do well in his music classes - no surprise and is getting an A in PE as he is putting in the effort!

My ear is healing from the infection but the skin flap they used for reconstruction has died. My ear will heal, but it will take a long time. Right now it looks like it has been through a meat grinder - lots of raw area! Thankfully it is not too painful - the infection was much worse.

Scheduled a massage for myself today. Have not had one in many years.

Onward!
