BB....we missed you ! Paula... my heart goes out to you. It is so difficult to understand how kids process things. Joey... you continue to amaze me !! Devon... where are you ?
All of you make my issues seem so insignificant. I weighed in at the cardiologist yesterday afternoon. Fully clothed and hydrated... nine pounds above my AM weigh in weight. Threw me for a flipping loop... absolutely unable to process and reason it through. Panic, defeated, depressed, combined with wet COLD weather and no glimpses of sun ... not in a good place, but fighting back.

It is not real. The devil rests his thumb or foot/cloven hoof? on doctors' offices scales!

Whoa, sounds like a lot of rocky roads out there. And I don't mean ice cream.
Joey so sorry your daughter is so ill and you have so much corresponding responsibility. So wish you could catch a break.
Same for you Paula. Stress probably affects your healing and you are getting a major dose of it now. Stress affects us all and its so hard to get rid of. I am sure its responsible for many of our original weight problems.
BB good to hear from you. Roxy and Ann are right, just keep at it and it will work. No donut is worth it. I too need to get to a gym. When I did so years ago it was a good thing.
Well Shel, watching yoga class can at least put you in a good frame of mind.
Yikes, tornados Ann. I can see how disaster hunger can occur. Its a stress thing I bet. Plus overall energy depletion.
Carbon, good on you for walking. Hope your weather makes it possible to continue. We can't seem to get much rain relief here.
I have been wondering about Kairk too. Hope all is ok.
Well 132.5 today. Yabba Dabba Doooo! Something pleasant to think about as I walk in circles at the gallery this afternoon. Have to prepare treasure's report for our meeting tomorrow night which will take about 5 minutes. Heat in the gallery has been sometimes not working lately so I gotta bundle up.
Special thoughts of Peace to those of you who need it. Check in here often. We care.

Yes I've been staying away from the donuts. That is one good consequence of exercise is it really puts calories into perspective. Eating lower calorie but bulkier foods, combined with the phentermine--not as hungry. I'm trying to get to 1000 though at least. I have this dilemma in my head which is it seems like the lower calorie foods have more volume. But I don't want to stretch out my sleeve any more. Hmmm
If I remember correctly, you're a longer-hauler than me, right? At least we're still keepin' on keepin' on even though the fight is very different.
Yep BB, I am 7.5 years out. About 8 pounds over where I would prefer to be but its just a number and I see a slim person in the mirror. I am much older than you (65) and my rmr was 936! Dr. didn't believe it. I too sit around too much and need to move more. Seems like a lot of people end up about 10 lbs over their ideal but its not so bad. Not to say that you shouldn't go after what you want. You should.
I remember my law firm days when there were donuts everywhere. Then they decided to get more healthy and have muffins and bagels instead. Really?
My go to snack food is grapes. They are sweet, low cal and filling. And readily available. Reminds me to get more soon. Diane S
Yep, crazy. I guess it reaffirms what I believed. It's not terrible to maintain at my number (which, I believe just from my historical calorie norms is somewhere around 1500-1600 calories) but it's very hard to lose there. The 36% body fat really shocked me. I wear a size 6/8 and it just goes to show you how little muscle mass I have. I read (is it true?) that fat only burns 3 calories per pound whereas muscle can burn 25-50. The doctor I consulted said he'd had patients lose 30lbs. and not drop in bmr because they'd gained a couple pounds of muscle. He said he doubted that even when I was nearly 300lbs. my bmr was over 2000--crazy! So that's why I decided to bite the bullet and really work on building muscle.
I do love my donuts but there are times when I (would have) eaten them because they're convenient, and others when they are really a treat. So I am trying to hold off for those blue moon occasions. I've been bringing a small sliced apple and dipping into fat free greek yogurt and pretending its fruit dip. It's really delicious. But to be honest, the phentermine is doing the trick. I just know it's for a limited time and I'm trying to get all the benefit out of it I can.
You're right about that 10lb. bump. NOw I see why it's encouraged to lose weight during the honeymoon phase. I'll always keep fighting and I think I have a fairly good handle on it. Too many people from our "graduating class" have already regained. Soo sad.
Just a drive by post to let you know my head is still in the game, even though I don't have a weight to report. I've been working hard, but will get a break over the next few days. Will check in with a better update.
Paula you are on my mind every day. Joey, keep the path. Prayers for both of you.
