Last day of the month! 115.5, calories 1200.

Long day yesterday as I wasn't home until 7, so both dogs and I were starved. Chiquita hardly ate at all, but Duchess devoured hers too fast and then vomited it all. Fun cleanup when exhausted! Luckily there were leftovers for my dinner, so no extra effort needed there.

Met with our financial guy and taxes are filed. Good return, which I'm happy about as it and the bonus can pay for the flooring in the new condo. That will be the biggest expenditure though there have been a bunch of little ones. I also think we need to put ceiling fans into the bedrooms and on Lanai (definitely bedrooms), so that will be another bigger one, plus adding a door to the den.

We did discuss my thoughts about retiring before the end of the year and he agrees that it can be done (financially). Better to wait until the end of the year, but we won't be destitute if I go earlier. He's hoping for a buyout (so am I). The next couple of months will probably determine what I'm going to do.  I am guessing that any remaining reorganization moves at work will also happen by mid-summer so if I haven't been offered a buyout by then it isn't going to happen and I'll decide whether to stay, modify my work schedule or go entirely.

Small stuff compared to what some of you are going through especially Paula and Joey. Paula, I remember the wait for the first oncologist appointment with my daughter when we knew it was probably cancer, but not what the treatment/prognosis would be. Uncertainty is difficult. Strangely once the treatment began it wasn't so bad. Everyone in radiology and chemotherapy were upbeat and cheerful (medical professionals and patients).

Good Morning Fabulous Fitness Force !

You all ARE such a positive force in my life !  I am maintaining In The Range (ITR, Devon). The perseveration over my weight, that began as I eased back down into my preferred range, has been greatly reduced by focusing on whether or not I'm in the range, as opposed to pounds and tenths. It just works better for me as I can extremely fixated on losing.

A brief window in the weather allowed Sadie and me to fit in a four mile walk. She was so exhausted for our therapy dog class last night, that she relaxed stretched out on the floor while waiting for her turn. She looked calm and well behaved, but honestly was worn out. The instructor suggests not feeding dogs dinner before 6:15PM class, so dogs will work for treats. Really ?!  I did that once, and she was so famished she gobbled treats too enthusiastically !! LOL ! Yellow labs are ALWAYS ready for food !

Positive energy and thoughts for all who are facing challenges. I am so grateful to be part of such a caring and supportive group of special individuals !

Not much going on here at 4:30 in the morning on a Fat Tuesday.  The weather is fluctuating from typically seasonal to global warming-warm.  I'm still resisting serious clean-up outside and holding hard onto these last weeks of winter-cocooning.  We have some family company coming this weekend, but they're easy to entertain.

Time now for my second skinny latte.  I hope it's a good day for all.  :)

Holy cow...aren't we the early risers?. I found out yesterday afternoon I need to go into Toronto for an appointment this morning.  That means I'll need to forgo my relaxation yoga class (pooh) but doesn't stop me from getting over to the YMCA to sweat it out in the weightroom. So I'm sipping my hot tea - banged back a potasium laden banana & gonna pump some iron.

Good for you ocean changing up your approach to weight management.  I find myself tweaking how I measure things all the time.  I was logging everything eaten for a few weeks but realized it grew tiresome and really was pretty standard.  My takeaway is to just log snacks drawing from my snack bank allowance and keeping scales nearby to check portion sizing. Always learning eh?

Liz it sounds like you are at a real crossroads but have done some good "what if" planning so it must relax you knowing you can be flexible on exit plans.  That is a solid place to find yourself.

The time showing is Pacific time. I posted at about 5:15 am my time (Eastern time). I'm an early riser, but not as early as it looks.

124's

Liz, much sympathy regarding dog cleanup.

We all have this to be grateful for:  we will never be able to double our weight in 5 days like Puppy.   Not even with peanut butter and pistachios.

Paula, thinking of you as well.  Breathe deep.

I have been thinking about Ann's comments regarding who is the bus driver when it came to her DH's cancer/treatment.  I love that analogy, it applies to so many other areas of life.

Hug your health tight,

Shel

134.2. No exercise, none planned. Food choices okay.

Had an appt. scheduled with Oncologist late yesterday morning but when we got there, they said they had tried to call to cancel because path results were not back yet. Rescheduled for 3:45 today, unless path is still not done.

Have a cold. I'm sure the stress has reduced my immunity. Will probably just rest today, I can't afford to get real sick right now. Still plan on having MOHs tomorrow unless DH appointments take precedent or I'm too sick. Just going through the motions these days!

Macros from yesterday:

2 months gone out of 2017.  Didn't weigh this morning.  Eating was a little off plan but I think it was just lack of distraction.  Back is better today.  Plan today is to be upright.  Heating pad or not. I did manage to get 2 short walks in with the dogs yesterday.  I have done my own taxes for years but I don't have a complicated return.  I guess I need to get on that.

Special prayers out to our group.

More later, David

Greetings Great No-gainers

Well Liz, you certainly have a lot to decide soon. Things have a way of falling into place as long as you don't make major missteps which you won't. When the writing is on the wall you gotta read it. At least finances are in order. All the best.

Diane O, you are right to focus on your range and not obsess about half pounds here or there. Its another important maintenance lesson to learn.

The sun is peaking out and may get Tesla out for training. Gotta go get studio payroll, move some art around, get figures for checks and so forth.

Talk about cleaning up dog messes. Won't go into details but we have had a lot of that lately. Old dog can't seem to help but spread her joy over large areas. Vet appointment Thursday.

The health food store has some ready made hamburgers with bacon and cheese bits or with mushroom and gorgonzola bits. Quite good. Its on the menu tonight with raw sauerkraut.

Glad you can walk around Dave.

Joey and Paula, thinking of you and hope things go well. And who needs a dang cold at this point. No fair.

For awhile this morning I could not get on OH. Yikes, made me realize how much I depend on this group. A good thing I think.

Be good or don't get caught.   Diane S
