Hi Guys,
124's
My day started feeling glad that I am not Carbon with unexpected snow. I am pretty sure she is just north of me in Canada and also lives in a milder climate compared to the rest of the country. My gratitude was short lived.
Surprise snow today that started dumping while the morning commute was already going. We are flummoxed. We are very much affected by the mountain shadows on the coast and weird micro-climates develop because of it. My home and work place are a winter wonderland today.
Also weird is that it is a true snow dump vs our usual wimpy stuff. Roads were covered within minutes. Peeps who would normally never venture out in snow ended up literally spinning their wheels. They abandon their cars and walk away leaving an obstacle course to maneuver around. I felt fortunate to have a vehicle that could manage and enough gas for a 1.5 hour commute instead of usual 20 minutes.
A winter storm warning was issued as I arrived at work. Poor weather people --- they will have a tough day. It is in the mid 30's so we should be ok in several hours.
Stay warm and healthy today!
Shel

203. An old co-worker always looked forward to the Oscars saying it was the only day of the year (the year!) that she allowed herself to eat chips. That has stuck with me for 30 years. Through every crazy diet, I have chips on Oscar night. Last night, I got Sun Chips still deluding myself that they are healthier. Anyway, I enjoyed what I took from the bag, and they are not a trigger. The boys will eat the rest.
My son just called to tell me that the doctor from his intensive outpatient program is writing the letter saying he approves the surgery for Ben, has treated him before and will treat him afterwards. That is the last condition before getting his date, so WOOOT!
At work, there are always leftovers from meetings, goody tables celebrating something or other. The secretary at the next desk is currently eating a bag of leftover chips from a lunch conference. I almost laughed, because of my warped thought of what is she doing? It is not Oscar night. Unfortunately, she is very unhealthy, so I have warped thoughts about her often, when she is grazing throughout the day when she should be drinking water, to her eating iceberg lettuce with a ton of horrible dressing for lunch with no protein.... My daughter and I have always put negative thoughts like this in a bubble and blow them away from ourselves.
My daughter was released from the hospital last night, but the boys wanted to stay over again. I normally go to sleep when they do, so this was a new thing for them. They were naughtily chatting it up way past lights out, so I kept checking on them to reel it in. My old man, Dr. P-Nutt, was on babysitting duty. I took this picture of how I found them (note his back legs)...
Sweet, sweet photo of them all. Good dog!

The vet thought he had something other than the Italian greyhound noted on his adoption papers. Whippet would make sense. My daughter rescued him when he was less than 2 years old. His first owners abandoned him at the vet. His next owner got kicked out of her house and was looking for a loving home for him at the same time my daughter was visiting mutual friends. She handed him to me, he tucked his face under my hair while I cried.

Seems like those of us in the Pac northwest are really getting it yet again. We are having serious rain again. It would be snow if we weren't so close to the ocean. I bet they are getting a snow dump inland here.
Hey Carbon, snow shoveling is major exercise in my book. Shel, sorry you had one of those nightmare commutes. I remember those from life in the midwest. Bought an suv for that purpose.
Well 133 today. Much better. Had a feeling it was temporary. Now if I could just get a few more off.
Long day for you Liz. I vaguely remember doing that in my former life. No more. Think about retiring as you go through the day.
Paula, thinking of you. I know there is a lot of uncertainty right now. Thats one of the worst parts of all this- not knowing what to expect.
More drama from my mom's main care giver over who to call if my mom has an emergency. Texts and calls. After a bad morning my mom perked up and is back to usual.
Dave Dave Dave, what are we going to do with you? Jumping off a ramp repeatedly? Well make friends with that heating pad. Hope you feel better soon and glad you have ho****er.
Today's missions are to check kiln output, do gallery taxes, enter Tesla in some dog shows and sort out junk from my little bedside dresser that I cleaned out yesterday for the first time in 15 years. Found a 35 year old passport and high school sr. picture.
Well I don't eat chips on Oscar night but someone must have been smoking something because of that foul- up over best picture.
Joey love the kids and dog picture. Looks like some kind of yoga pose.
Wish we all could beam to Florida. Peace to all. Diane S
Hi guys!
I'm checking in. Not much to report. Puppy is doing great. She has doubled her weight since last Wednesday. She eats like a champ and I'm not having to get up at night. I do awaken periodically, but that's normal for me. I go right back to sleep once I see all is well, which I can do from my bed.
Weight is up another pound. Not sure why, but ce la vie! It will go back down. I'm on point with food today. Which is all I can do.
Shoulder is better.
Good news about the pup!

We should send "Fumble" (the puppy) all our unwanted lbs. Here, sweet pup -- here's a pound. Poof!

Hi! Everyone!!! 167.4# NITR However, it looks better than the 170's where I've been hanging out the last few weeks.
I'm praying for all of you and the challenges you are facing. Life is so very difficult sometimes. There are also many things to be thankful for in the midst. I'm hoping we can focus on those things and be thankful.
Peace!
