Weight 115.25, calories 1841. Went to a friend's home last night for dinner and wasn't in bed until 10:30 which is late for me! Yesterday morning the dogs and I walked on the beach and we all had spring fever.  I think we are due for another good storm between now and the end of March. Hopefully it comes when I am in Florida again for the last 2 weeks of March, not when I'm trying to fly back there.

DH still doing well in Florida - I think he has gone out to eat every night with our friends. I hope he has remembered to pay his share (I'll have to check with them). Have a great Sunday!

Oscar Sunday woo hoo The DH & I go to see a minimum of 70 movies a year so it's like the superbowl around our house.  So I am going to do my swim today, normally a day off, so that I don't have to wake up at the usual 5:30 a.m. to get into the pool. I am more dicipline about fitness than about food - the rule is 3 swims & 2 weight training/ week.  If there are things interupting then fit it in somehow.

Food wise I have worked hard to stop the habits we all most likely had around events and over indulgence.  But we are having roast lamb leg, rutabegas, roasted potato. Which is not really off the rails but I'm going to pretend it is. Might throw in 8 Doritos right around 'halftime' just to poke the bear. No booze - that is one line I won't cross post WLS.

Anybody else fans of the Academy Awards?

I'm glad you mentioned the Oscars, as I had forgotten. I love to watch the pre-shows and see what they are wearing (good and bad).

Awww Roxie - wish we lived closer so my DH and I could join you guys at the movies!  Unfortunately we saw very few this year but will still be watching the Oscars.

133 OTD. My current target range is 134-139. The place I was too low was under 127. I'm looking at 131-132 as my Cinderella spot, so I'm shifting my target range back to 129-134. I can fell myself becoming more fixated on the scale, which has resulted in under eating post last year's cellulitis hospitalization. I like Roxy's focus on fitness approach. When my weight is in my target range, I'm just going to post ITR. I'll report exact weight above or below the range.

Yesterday, I swam a mile, and Sadie and I walked 3.5. I'll do some stretching and hand weights today. I have my taxes done this afternoon, and know I owe, so just need to fond out how much.

Positive thoughts to all, especially those dealing with tough stuff.

Diane.

135 OTD. Calories a bit high and very carb heavy. No exercise, couched it with DH and we watched t.v. and then a movie On Demand last night.

Kids seem to be doing okay with DH's news at the moment. Only DS#2 really wants to talk about it and the what ifs right now. We had a rare 45 minute conversation while eating breadsticks (I had just one, he ate the other 3) when he got home from work last night (he works at the local pizza joint and brought a very slightly burned order home).

Church today. Really need to exercise my body. Not sure how much free time I will have this next week. DH will let his PCP know which Oncologist he wants to see so a referral can be made. One benefit of working in health care and I have friends "in the know" and can ask who they would recommend. Work tomorrow. I have no Family Medical Leave remaining after my PS, so will have to fill out paperwork for intermittent Leave of Absence for all that is coming down the turn pike. Unfortunately, my two main co-workers are both very pregnant, one will have her C section on March 14th and the other on May 2nd. Covering our patient load will be strained at the very least and because my time off isn't under FMLA, my job status isn't secure. I do have a supportive manager and co-workers though so that will help but the hospital I work for is under new ownership and overall have been pretty s*itty to employees, especially long term ones like me (25 years!) since we tend to be expensive! Many positions have been cut already!

So much worry.  As my Grandma Hertha would say, don't borrow trouble.

You, your family and friends will find a way.  During my year of treatment, my parents came to help out for weeks at a time.  My dad took me to a lot more appointments than my DH did by a long shot.   In hindsight, DH's work environment provided some normalcy to a crazy time of life.

We are already thinking that now with my parents moving back to WI, they could live with us if needed to help out instead of my brother, provided my Dad's health is good enough to do so. I'm mostly thinking running DH to treatments/appointments. I know one of my co-workers would like to try to cut some hours after baby # 3 comes, so I might just trade my .6 for her .9 if that works out. Right now all of our insurance benefits are through DH and I want to be protected if needed.

I like the don't borrow trouble sentiment.....my mind keeps going to worse case scenario.....probably in preservation mode and my natural tendency to plan and prepare. I've already been scouring the internet for research on esophageal CA and we don't even have a definitive diagnosis yet. I'll have access to medical library journal articles when we do though!

I couldn't help but think that your parent's unexpected move back to WI and DH's Florida job falling thru is the cosmo's way of making sure that all hands are on deck for exactly this

Here is a site to keep in your back pocket if needed for evidence based oncology guidelines:   https://www.nccn.org/professionals/physician_gls/f_guideline s.asp#ayahttps://www.nccn.org/professionals/physician_gls/f_ guidelines.asp#aya

Thanks Shel for the resource link. I too think that the whole FL fiasco probably happened for this very reason too!
