Okay, I get it now! You do have a wickedly dry sense of humor. I like!

I'm also HORRIBLE with all the acronyms. You know like SIL - son in law, sister in law, who the hell knows..... I am baffled why we have become a nation of acronym users. Must be texting....

Great to hear that Blue has decided to enter the game. I'm sure little "fumble" will figure it out soon (so you can get some well-deserved sleep).

Thank you Devon.  I like "Fumble", it made me think Mumble, the penguin from Happy Feet.

Greetings Life Managers

Well I am late because I worked gallery in the morning and then went to teach my 80 year old friend to use her iPad. She acts like its a nuclear weapon. Took awhile but we got her on the app store and got some games and learned how to internet search. I had been bugging her for years to get computer literate because elderly people sometimes can't get around and a computer is a lifeline. We will have a few more sessions before she stops being afraid of it.

Well I don't want to even post my weight because its up and that was before quality bathroom time.

Welcome Roxy. Jump right in to our little club. its fun. Tell us more of your story.  Unfortunately I have licked the bowl a few times too often.

Paula sending prayers and good energy. Hoping DS has something not serious.

Joey I sure wish you could catch a break. Birthday party should be fun. Sending good vibes.

Shel, good to have a "me" weekend. I am going to a wine tasting at a local winery tomorrow and they will have a few yummy snacks. Need it like a hole in the head. I am taking a guest who is going through a rough time so she loves going to these events at this local winery which is an adorable place.

Devon glad puppy is gaining weight and Blue is being a good mommie. I had a litter of three once and one would try desperately to nurse but didn't seem to get enough. Supplemented her with goats milk. Also used this other big fat puppy to "prime the pump".

Chicken apple sausages tonight. Comfort food. Its not raining but really cold here today. Did have some gallery sales though.

Lately I have been having dreams where I find all these beautiful exotic clothes. Wish I could remember the designs so I could make them. My subconscious is telling me to stop wearing sweat pants and shirts all the time.

Glad you checked in Momsey

Later all. Take care of family and skinny.   Diane S

I think iPads are great for someone just learning.

Ok, more to add. Liz,  Do get the Medical and General Power of Attorney done. You might do your own as well and thats a way to sell it to DH - that you both need to do this at this time of life. Consider having one of your children as having equal power if they are able. If you both do this together it might not seem so threatening. And not to be sneaky but you could name him as your POA and then soon after change it. Might seem unfair but ya gotta do it. DH and I both updated all this when we each had our VSG. You can buy these forms at a stationary store but I recommend an experienced attorney to do it right.

I can't tell you how many times I have been grateful for this for my mom. I can do her banking, set up bill paying, sign her care contracts, move her to new apartment, get her taxes done,  even adjust beneficiaries of retirement plan when it is tax advantageous. . Without a POA you have to go to court and get a guardianship and conservatorship. Not easy.

When I was a practicing attorney I did this a lot and I used to tell clients it was like insurance - if everything is in order then nothing will go wrong. Its like if you take your umbrella it won't rain.  GL

That's what the attorney said too! I think I'm just going to name SIL. The kids are still too new to having their own $ to do this yet.  Thank you for confirming her advice. Having been married to an attorney for over 35 years, I definitely felt I needed to have an attorney going forward. My financial advisor had been suggesting I see an elder law attorney as well.

NJ has a form called the POLST http://www.state.nj.us/health/advancedirective/polst/  It was a great tool in discussing different scenarios with my parents and getting their opinions ahead of time.  I knew exactly what they wanted, which was huge.
