Greetings Stars of the Maintenance World

Devon my heart is breaking for you. So hard to have things go bad for the little one. They are our family indeed.

Liz and Paula and Joey you are certainly having your share of family issues. All I can say is hang in there and trust your own best judgement. You all have good sense and will get it right. The trip to the attorney sounds especially hard but you are right to get this done. I have POA for my mom and have had to use it many times. So glad that was done.

Shel, glad you found your yoga groove. Not sure what thats all about but one of these days I should go find out. Did yoga years ago. Lord knows there are a million classes in this little hippie enclave where we live.

Gallery duty today and its been pouring rain on and off. That means no one will come in and I will sit there playing iPad games. I have to take such a load of junk there to work 4 hours; water, coffee, lunch, new art, newspaper, iPad and on and on.

Well our purple tulips are up and blooming. They are planted in a rectangular planter that we were given at Christmas. It had a bunch of fake plastic flowers in it that my friend swears ward off the gophers.

I made fish with curry sauce last night. Pretty good. Lentil soup tonight I think.  133 today with zilch chance of weight loss for tomorrow since I will be sitting around most of the day or walking in circles. Dogs are wrestling and restless since its pouring off and on. No walks for them today. We sure need a break from the rain even though are area is not suffering the damage like some parts of California.

Well, more coffee then off to the gallery. Devon I am thinking of you and little girl.   Diane S.

Wish my hubby would play scrabble or do crosswords with me. He is excellent at spelling and language but just does not like games.

I got into the car after the vet visit and started to break down. A break down of relief! Little one is going to be just fine.

Her poop was shooting out the right side of her tail because that was its only escape! She has what the vet dubbed "cement poop". Blue was not doing her job cleaning and apparently neither Ron nor I saw the poop drying over her anus and stopping her up. We did clean her, but clearly not well enough. After a sitz bath and a lot of massage and picking and pulling the lump of cement poop was released and the puppy's flood gates opened. She pooped and pooped and pooped. We all know how it feels to be filled with poop and not be able to get it out. What I thought was the laceration/bite was where the poop had glued the base of her tail down to her butt. The red flesh was irritated skin from the harsh cement poop.

The vet gave me a hug and didn't blame me for my concern. She said she rarely sees this and it is indeed scary - especially with the psuedo laceration and refusal to eat.

I will have to start supplementing her with Espilac if she doesn't start eating enough to gain steadily. She has not gained anything since birth. Well, she did, but then lost it over night and during the day today. She should weigh at least 14 oz by now, but she still weighs in at only 12 oz.

The Wolfess did come home and have a good chow down. She is currently asleep cuddled up with Mama Blue. thanks for the kind thoughts and prayers. Means the world to me.

I've had only about 2 hours of sleep and my nerves are a little raw so I'm going to take a nap. I am very proud of myself for not eating my feelings, though! I have stayed completely on my plan today!

The girls relaxing after the visit to the vet.
