I have given up on tough love., except when absolutely necessary.  (I have had to call the police for help when he had adverse reactions to new meds.)  He gets enough tough love from the outside world, but everyone is different.  My niece could use some tough love, she treats her parents like an ATM.  Every situation is different, and the consequences are so severe that I almost always err towards soft love, which is not easy.

The best medicines we have found are creative outlets.  My son is a very talented artist.  He has started designing his own comic books.  They are really good, so we are looking into schools or seminars for him.  I have emailed some of our lawyers about copyrights.  He used to play guitar, and I wish he would pick that up again, but drawing is doing him a lot of good.

I wish you the best of luck.

Wowza Wed!

124's.  Nice walk yesterday when I didn't want to so that counts triple.  As always, I felt good after the first several steps thanks to the right outerwear.  I had fallen out the almost daily walk habit and I am trying to bring it back.  I haven't been able to make it to as many studio yoga practices because of temporary home obligations.  But, trying to do more at home.

Have I mentioned that I have been bending wrong in yoga?  I had no freakin idea.  I had mentioned to the studio owner that I wanted work toward handstand in 1-2 years.  One of my limiting factors is hamstrings and it turns out that I haven't been benefiting from most folding poses because I couldn't "find" my pelvic anterior tilt.  I couldn't find it physically even with her queuing me.  I couldn't even picture it in my head.   AFter weeks of percolating on anterior pelvic tilt, I finally found it in this last week in a couple of poses where it was entirely missing.

I didn't know what I didn't know.  For years.  I love this kind of humbling.

Other quick news, I am pretty normal in MFP.  My average daily calories for my MFP tracking period was around 1650.  MFP puts my calorie target at 1620.

Make it healthy today!

Shel

I don't know enough about yoga to have a clue about bending properly or not!

The beauty of yoga is that there is truly no worry about doing it right.  They deliberately call their classes "practice."

206. Pfffft! I know it's because I drank a lot last night... (only flavored water). I'm trying to stop nighttime eating, so I increased my drinking.  Ooh, I forgot I did have some pretzels earlier.  Everything is being logged again to better identify the troubles.

I took back the Fitbit Alta I got on "sale" at Target, because the same one (in silver instead of gold, boo) was $30 cheaper at Costco. The Costco one came with a spare band, too, which is nice.  My son got the Fitbit Blaze and he LOVES it and keeps showing me everything it can do.  I think it is the reason he agreed to go for another walk with me at the reservoir.

Also he had an appointment with his nutritionist yesterday and lost 3 pounds. He was disappointed that it was not more.  It appears that he is digging in to get down to work.  He has started to log his food for the first time since we started the process.  He has been trying different types of Greek yogurt.  He likes the Oikos Triple Zero berry flavor, so HURRAY!  He cooked dinner last night and is planning to make a ricotta bake for dinner tonight.

It sounds like your son is getting into the "groove"!

Quick drive by....

I am down a pound from yesterday (I did weigh once I got out of bed).

I haven't read any posts, so no comments except Liz, thanks for the sleep wishes.

Did not sleep well or much. Puppy is in a bad way. I was up with her most of the night. I believe Blue bit her or nibbled her while cleaning her. She has a laceration (I think) at the base of her tail and I think it perforated her bowel. She hasn't nursed since 2:30 am and had a rough night. I'm worried that we will lose her today. She is going to the vet at 1:30.

Prayers welcomed.
