Wednesday February 22

It's Wednesday already!  I hope you all slept well (especially Devon).

116.5, 2000 calories.  I ate WAY too may almonds yesterday. They are fine when I'm out of the house but dangerous when I am WFH (way too easy to grab). I had banished them once before while in weight loss mode and may need to do it again.  DH moved to the house he will be living at for a while yesterday so my main floor is my own again (all clutter removed) and I'm alone with the doggies. The basement is still a mess because he plans to be here on many days off so he left a ton of personal items there, but at least it is out of sight.  Now I have to take Duchess out frequently (started at 5 am), since DH isn't here to do it. I suspect she is never going to be sure enough on her feet to do stairs or be out in the yard alone again.

I'm seeing an elder law attorney today about estate planning due to DH Alzheimer's. I want to make sure he is taken care of but also that I have somewhere to live and some sort of life if he ends up in a facility ultimately. This is tough to do since DH was an attorney himself and I suspect that he is going to have a hard time with the recommendations since they will stem from his condition (yet another step in the progression in a way). We've always owned everything jointly except cars - the condo was the first property purchase in my name only.

I go to our Boston office for work tomorrow but will try to do at least a drive by. Have a great day!

Still quite puffy today, but I'm logging the 137. Eleven hours of sleep last night, so I'm catching up a bit with flying west to east.

Will finish going through a bag of mail, and begin to pay bills today. I'll also work six hours, in the office, then be home in time for along walk.

Let's all have a health minded day !

Rained all day yesterday, so hubby and I had an unexpected cocooning day indoors warm and dry.  Love those times - there will be fewer of them as spring moves in.

Ocean, going through the tsunami of snail mail is one of my least favorite things about coming home after a lovely vacation.

Liz, you're my new role model re planning for life's big transitions.  You certainly aren't a procrastinator.  Respect!

Nope, I've never been a procrastinator! I set goals and plan projects to achieve them (at work and at home). I might have become this way partially because I'm an adult child of an alcoholic (the control thing), but I was always very math/science oriented (love logic).

Regardless, that's partially why I'm fighting with myself over the retirement thing: My brain says "I made a plan for one more year, and there is really only 9 months left (can leave in early December based on vacation time)!" AND I would still take 3 weeks off in June for Aruba and every Friday off in the summer. Again the brain says "How hard can this be?"  Then I think about DH needing to stop driving and how can he be kept active while I work (going to the fitness center, taking walks on the beach, etc)?  I'm afraid he will just sit around and be depressed.

Decisions, decisions...

I feel like others have a lot more than me to deal with (like Joey). Having gone through 18 months of serious illness with my oldest daughter, this doesn't seem like too much yet. But we will see in a few years...

Ah, the burdens of being (fairly) successful control freaks.  ;)

They are so very heavy.

Good morning

what a lovely baby Kairk!    And Shel, thanks for opening your door, will be right over. Dave I admire all of your work.

Isn't it  someplace in WA or OR that has a mountain side cascading with daffodils?  Stunning!

food good but not much exercise.  Hopefully that will be rectified today.

I tried to find the mountain side cascading with daffs using but wasn't able to locate.  I would love to see it!

There are many daffodil/tulip farms just north of here that are good fun to visit in season.  In those cases, the mountains are in the background not themselves covered.  At least not that I know of (way too far away)

136.4

Busy day yesterday. Got step aerobics in, had PS follow-up, had first round of Dysport (like Botox) and had discussion with DH about what in the world to do with DS#1. Still very stressful on that front and will be looking for counsel from parents of teens/young adults that have gone through similar situations for advice. We just are not sure how much to keep giving (and enabling) vs. how much tough love to dish out. Him having mental health problems on top of it all makes knowing what to do that much harder because the consequences could be greater!

Macros from yesterday: Cals: 1533, Carbs: 180, Fat: 69, Protein: 99, Sodium: 1740 Sugar: 45

Have a Wonderful Wednesday my Wacky Warriors!
