Again, so happy to hear about your planned trip to Costco, the ex and his kindnesses to you, and the fact that you didn't tell me to go jump in the lake after my post to you yesterday!

This is about the time every year that I start to think that spring might actually come again!  ;)

Thank you Joey for your kind words. Last night DH did agree on a driving evaluation when we get home AND we see the new neurologist in April.

I'm glad to hear that you are trying to take care of yourself too. You deserve it and you need to be healthy to help the rest of the family. Good news on your daughter! I smiled about your grandsons doing well - thank goodness kids are so resilient!

Greetings Maintenance Buddies

Liz, what a fright that must have been when DH went awol. Glad he found his way back. Sounds like you are taking the right steps. I understand about the car keys. He has to accept that decision and be a part of it.

Joey glad your daughter is doing better and that the ex is being kind to you. Good for you for going on that date.

So Dave, you are in the woods. Must be a wonderful peaceful way to live. Out here lots of people live in cabins or trailers in the redwoods and love it. Bet you are loving it too.

Paula, that glide exercise thing looked like fun but I know I would fall off and probably crash other people.

Well the root canal went just fine. I really have a good dentist. He is an old hippie with a foot long pony tail and he wears hawiian shirts and birkenstocks with socks all the time. Quite a character.

Shel, good to do a store run early. Later in the day the flying foods really get their wings. Well at least the candy orgy is past and it sounds like everyone did pretty well. Down to 132.5 today as dinner last night was scrambled eggs.

Ya know I once had one of those naturally thin friends and was surprised to learn that she and her family often ate canned soup for dinner. Most of it is pretty reasonable in calories. If I have soup I want it home made with good stuff in it. But then again I always wanted home made cookies too.... Even the fat me didn't care for Oreos.

Well I didn't have to show up for jury duty today but have to call in tonight to see if I have to show up tomorrow. They must have some big case and are running through a lot of people. Our county is rural so every body gets summons frequently.

Hold on to the skinny.  Diane S

Weight +.2 - essentially same as yesterday.

I was pleased by my navigation of Valentine's Day on the food front. Truly a successful day.

I have been greeted by a glut of chocolates and cookies today for the old b'day. A colleague who now works at another building (school site) sent me a box of her homemade cookies for my b'day. These are my all time favorite homemade cookies - chewy chocolate and toffee chip cookies. They are simply the best. I'm keeping them, but have yet to eat one. I will wait until I can safely savor it and have an escape in place should I need it. One student gave me a candy/cookie I have never seen before. It is called an Oreo Big Crunch Bar. Looks to be like chocolate covered oreos but in break off-able pieces like a chocolate bar. It is 10.5 oz! I did the math and it holds a whopping 1610 calories. Guess what is NOT coming home with me?!?!?!? Some of the parents understand my sugar issues and instead of crap gave me gift cards to Peet's, True Food Kitchen, Chow's (local organic restaurant), Kinder's (local butcher/BBQ place) and amazon cards.

Ron brought me a lunch from Kinders - BBQ ribs and slaw. DELICIOUS! We are going to a fancy ass steak house for dinner tonight. Am looking forward to a lovely filet.

Happy Birthday Devon! Definitely savor those homemade cookies and dump the other ones! Maybe freeze the homemade ones and stretch them out (not sure that would work for me but it might...they might call to me from the freezer)?

136.4. Still feeling bloated and yucky. Period cramps today but took a walk at lunch anyway. Hot bath and doggie snuggles on tap for tonight! Man I love those puppies!
