Happy Valentine's Day! Well, I started this post around 9:00 am, but am now just finding time to finish and post.
Sugar goal was met yesterday - or should I say the non sugar goal!
Down 1.4 from yesterday.
Ah, Valentine's Day at an elementary school. I'm sure you can imagine the sugar fest that it is. So far I have been gifted a beautiful box of cocoa covered chocolate truffles and several boxes of candy. The kids haven't even started their card exchange, so lord only knows what sugar treats I will be gifted then! I'm feeling pretty strong today, so I'm not too worried about the challenges I will face this afternoon. (School is now out for the day and I made it unscathed through the day. Not a cookie, chocolate or other type of sweet has been thrown down the gullet! YAY! Bless the kiddo who brought me a can of peanuts for a Valentine! How he knew is beyond me!)
Focusing again today on making healthy choices. I am really forcing myself to keep in the forefront of my thinking that I am changing my eating style. If I maintain mindful and healthy eating choices the weight will come off as a consequence. If I make it all about losing weight I seem to get off track, judge too harshly, and feel like I'll never get where I want to be, which feeds the feelings of not being good enough. All that, of course, leads to the "What's the use?" thinking which is an excellent resource for rationalization! And voila! Back to sugar and refined carbs! I am thinking/hoping that by changing the focus I will also change the process and the outcome.
Joey - I am in disbelief! Your plate seems only to become more highly piled! I wish you the best. I am keeping your daughter in my thoughts.
Gotta love this - I woke up to a lovely card, a vase of red tulips (a favorite of mine), and two rather large bakery made chocolate chip cookies. Sweet, but really? He means well and knows I love soft, chewy cookies, but he knows, too, I'm trying really hard to "mend my ways." Maybe Valentine's Day doesn't count to normies - it's a free day when calories and food quality don't matter. Not so for me! I, on the other hand, decided to go non traditional and put The Book of Mormon tickets inside his VD card. B'way touring company coming in July and I couldn't resist.
XO my WLS family!
