Happy Valentines Day! DH and I are celebrating tomorrow because all the good restaurants were booked with reservations 2 weeks ago. I think this will be our future plan as well because it will be so much easier. I found a high rated (on TripAdvisor) restaurant on the water we want to try.
I think I am officially in an insomnia cycle. It started the day before we left for Florida. I've only fallen asleep well perhaps once or twice since then. I also had been getting up later than usual (about 6am). My usual waking time when I go into the office is 4:30. I may be turning out the light too early for that waking time so this morning I set the alarm for 4:30 am in an attempt to reset. I do have to go to the office in 6 days so it is good to do this anyway. I'll be following all my sleep "rules" to see if I can get back to a good pattern.
The cold is worse, but I'm ignoring it. At least it is just congestion now as opposed to DH "source" cold which was making him cough constantly.
I made arrangements for new flooring in Florida yesterday (wood look tile). All the floors are currently beige carpet and linoleum which I am not fond of. I also ordered an inexpensive patio set for dining on the lanai and a new chandelier for over the inside table. I moved the inside table because it was in the middle of the living room/kitchen area and blocked where there would normally be bar stools, so we needed a light with a long chain so it can be swagged. Kind of awkward furniture placement. Bar stools are coming soon as well. I am thinking about how to better arrange the furniture in the living room and den but haven't decided yet. I love doing this stuff, but have to be careful about not spending a ton. Luckily my bonus comes in a few weeks.

Yesterday I was on an all-day road trip with my sister. About once a month we go to the "big city" 100 miles away for shopping, lunch out, medical appointments (which we try to coordinate with our field trip calendar) and spend the day catching up and laughing as much as possible. Great day!

I could easily live on the west coast ! Redondo is much more low key than Santa Monica. The walking/biking paths are comparable, the clothes shopping is better in Santa Monica, but there is a Whole Foods three blocks away from my hotel. Score ! Yogurt, fresh fruits, ad incredible fresh protein forward salad bar.
Inquiring minds have to know... the piers are roughly 1.6 miles apart, and it's 3.3 miles from my hotel to Manhattan Beach, so that's my destination for my first walk. Had an entire roof top pool to myself all afternoon yesterday. I'll post on Facebook.
I have to find a way to recapture this feeling, when my spirit dips.

No post yesterday as my office moved from one hallway to another. Super inefficient day as I roamed the clinic for functioning computer and phone only to be kicked out to another section as the moving team took over.

Will be a long day at work plus college night at the high school. (It goes til 9! Will I survive?)
Joey, prayers for your daughter and family. Dialysis is, of course, a gift. But boy can it ever bite back! Liz and DianeO, enjoy the beach life! I don't know about Florida but the light in California feels almost glittery to me. Soak it in, girls.

No weight - feeling bloated and yucky today and honestly just didn't want to face the music! I know it is up and don't plan to do a damn thing about it today, so there! Lol!
Had my MOHs surgery consult today, will have it done on March 1st. Don't have to take any extra time off work except the day of surgery so that is good.
DH teaches tonight so my V-day dinner plans of lobster and shrimp and homemade mac n cheese (for the kiddos) will have to wait until Thursday night. Think I might take the kids out for pizza tonight. I can have a bite of pizza and eat the salad bar for most of my meal!
