Had a busy day yesterday so no check in. Very busy board the past few days. Fun to read.

Ann, congratulations on a successful speech! Your description reminded me of the few AA testaments I've been privileged to attend. I was touched by the honesty of those people and how important hitting their "bottom" was in their recovery. (Years ago when I decided to stop drinking I went to a few AA meetings, but AA was not for me. I have, however, remained booze free for years and years. I think seeing older relatives in the throes of alcoholism allowed me to see my familial path and get off that path before it was too late! So grateful I chose that path. Ice cream is so much more socially acceptable! LOL!) Sorry, to digress! I was taken by the content of your talk and sincerely wish that I could have been in attendance. Where do you live that it was a lovely 81 degrees yesterday? Southeast US?

Mary, sorry I was not able to get back to you yesterday. I'm glad all is well with your computer today and you were able to post! I understand wanting to find the spark. I do indeed! Happy B'day fellow Aquarian. We had Chinese last night, as well.

Shel, I'll have to check out that article-maybe tomorrow. ;-)

Old tapes continue rolling. Lots going on, I guess. Have to be honest that though I love checking in daily because I feel so connected with you all, I feel pretty lousy about myself and my weight when I do. Hopefully, you all can understand. Not trying to be a Debbie Downer, just need to get it out there. Helps me to get it out of my head, you know. Something more to sort through.

More business (busy-ness) today for me. Love you all lots!

Kairk, we're in Missouri.  Yesterday's high was a local record.  Like almost everyone (except momsy in Maine) we're having a very temperate winter.  And yes, it's lovely to have 81 in February.  But overall, this is NOT a good thing.

You are playing the tapes.  I have that tape in my head too.  Other people value you.  I think you are great, insitefull and caring.  Play that tape.  DW tells me all the time if I could only see me as others see me I would be easier on myself.

Sorry about the lack of posts lately.  Still no weight but cal have been as high as 1650.

Liz, you sound busy, enjoying life.

Paula, you've been in my thoughts lately.  I had some pre cancers removed from my balding head last year.  I am bad about not wearing sun screen or hats.  I was in a lot of sun in my teens and 20's and around a lot of chemicals in my 30's and 40's.  But so far I'm clear.

Carbon, N&Y has it's way with me all the time these days.

Shel, Ice cream had been on my radar lately.  It was a big weakness before WLS.

Diane O, Enjoy every minute of your vacation.  It will be there when you get ready for it.

Diane S, I like how often you have coffee time.  (Seeing the big trees in Northern California is on my bucket list.)

Ann, sounds like you speech went more than well.

Sheri, a win with the IRS.  YEA!  I had a government contract that they were slow to pay every month.  They were billed for about 4K in penalties over 2 years.  I would win if I had a lawyer but it would probably cost more than that so I try to forget.

Moving is making me feel like the disney magician apprentice character that was trying to mop up water in the tower and made more mops to clean up the water and more water came.  I buy more boxes and move them and turn around and find more stuff.

Seeking Peace, Really.  David

Greetings Special People

Good grief so much going on with all of you. Guess thats a good thing. Being busy (within limits) is a good thing at least as far as weight management is concerned.  Liz, what a perfect day you had. Where do I sign up?

Well Shel, the carb monster had its way with me last night and I didn't even want the stuff. DH brought home part of this huge calzone and I had a sliver of it for dinner. Even tossed a lot of the crust. Result: up a pound today to 133.5!  AAAARRRRRGGGHHHHH. I am never eating that thing again. Its grilled chicken tonight or bust. I just can't do that junk.

My sympathies to you in snow land. I actually sort of miss looking at it but not having to deal with it.

Sheri sounds like a great time with the AsiaMoms group. What a good idea since there are many in that situation and good for you. Loved the description of eye popping for those who had not seen you.

Oddly, I don't crave ice cream or cookies much unless some homemade extra good stuff is put right under my nose. DH likes his soy ice cream bars. I guess its because of our cool climate that I don't see**** cream. Cheese is another matter and its just as fattening. Love cruising the selection of fancy kinds at the coop. And we are in dairy county so its all good.

Dave any day we want to hear about the airstream move in. I look around at all our accumulation of junk and just get tired.

Worked on show training Tesla yesterday. Trying to get her to move well on a show lead, stop jumping up and down, and stand still for the judge to examine. This is no easy task.

Dear Devon, please lighten up on yourself. Don't let the annoyance with some unwanted pounds spoil your self confidence and enjoyment of life. I swear its the winder doldrums we all have.

Glad the speech went well Ann. You must be really good and knowledgable to be invited to present at such a group.

Our one art gallery may need a  new roof. The landlord, a charitable organization, thinks we should raise all the money. Duh, its their responsibility under the lease.

Diane O, have fun in the great state of CA. Contemplate retirement indeed.

Sunny day so pups get walk. More training of Tesla.  And more coffee.    Diane S

Only have time for a drive by post today. Hosting woman's bible study and I still need to clean and finish my homework! Yikes! Funny you mentioned procrastinators Shel, I am not usually one but fit the bill today!

134.4. Up just a hair, normal daily fluctuations. I expect it to go up a little more with some of the Valentine's treats I've made (very rich chocolate cheesecake for the co-workers) but I bought a huge veggie and dip tray too which I will serve tonight at bible study along with a few sweet treats!

Love to you all!
