VSG Maintenance Group
Friday February 10
113.5, 1800 calories. I will step up these calories - I need to do it through the day because I run out of time before bed.
The dilemma of whether to go with the new neighbors on the "party" boat or not tomorrow is solved. We are getting together with friends from home who are in Florida for the winter in Clearwater. We had planned to do this all along but hadn't finalized the day yet. Maybe we will go on the boat with the neighbors in the future once we know them better, but I was feeling like we could end up in an uncomfortable position with too much drinking and no way to escape.
I get my annual (last) review today from my boss. Should be interesting. Bonuses and raises come next month after which I will tell them that I am retiring.
Have a great Friday (TGIF!!!!!!!!!!)!

You know the saying "when it rains it pours?" Feeling like I'm in the middle of a monsoon here!
No Florida, biopsy from Derm came back positive - infiltrative basal cell carcinoma of the ear - I will have to have MOHs surgery, and DS#1 continues to have his on-going mental health problems and won't seek the help he needs but doesn't hesitate to lay it all on my shoulders. Feeling weary!
Paula
So sorry you are going through this Paula. As you know it will pass eventually but that doesn't make it easier when in the midst of it.

I am glad that you had that ear checked out. You will have the procedure and that will be that.
I wish I had magic fairy dust to heal parent's hearts. But I don't. I have to constantly remind myself to fortify other areas of my life so I don't get too down.
Hugs!

Paula, I'm so sorry things are not going as you would like! I know that feeling all too well myself lately. I've kept quiet on here about some difficult things that have been on going, but they, too, are beginning to take a toll.
My dad had basal cell on his ear, too. They MOHS was successful and the cool thing is his ear tissue grew back exactly the way it was.
DS#1... so sorry. Can't be easy.
So sorry, Paula! My Dad was just diagnosed with one of those, also on his ear, but couldn't have it removed due to having knee re-replacement surgery this week. So the removal will entail a "bigger chunk, as he says! Hang in there - you have a lot on your plate - try to take time for just YOU every day - a walk in the sun (with sunscreen and a hat!) will help give you some peace. HUGS!!!
