Wednesday February 18
I finished getting my balance scale set up this morning - it's the same as the one I have at home (yes that twinge of OCD has to have my weighing be exact). I've been eating well but I had noticed that a lot more swelling has gone down in my tummy and as a result I am 113.25 this morning. I definitely have to pick the calories even more. The previous owners left an electronic scale so I checked it and it said 112.8, so I would say that the balance one is good.
We did a lot of shopping yesterday afternoon to get stuff we needed. Even with the condo fully furnished (and with more than you would usually expect), there were still a lot of miscellaneous things to get. Including a flashlight (which we forgot yesterday). Power went out at 1:30 last night and DH was in panic because he couldn't find the bathrooms ****ep lights on in them at night for this reason). I finally realized that we could use the flashlight on the phone. Though I would probably have caught up on sleep last night since I fell asleep early, I ended up losing about 2 hours after that. But I think I still totaled about 7 hours (not bad).
DH did water aerobics at the clubhouse and met a lot of people yesterday and he has a friend coming to visit while I work today. I think they are going to do lunch by the pool (available every Wednesday). I think it is going to be good for him here.
More shopping today, but a smaller list. I hope to catch up on other postings this morning. I feel like I'm missing out on what is going on at OH! Have a great hump day!
PS: I took down the decorations I didn't like yesterday: Dark valances on every window and OMG tons of fake flowers and plants! I need it light and clutter free!

Weight this morning: 135
Macronutrients yesterday: Cals - 1,851, Carbs - 219, Fat - 58, Protein - 106, Sugar - 117, Fiber - 38
Exercise yesterday: Yoga class
Veggies/fruits yesterday: 7
Plans for today: Aquarobics, Yoga class, practice speech, crosswords with hubby
About yesterday's calories / eating - that was NOT the plan! Again, it was due to not falling asleep until 3-4 hours past my usual bedtime. And when I stay up late like that I get hungry again! Truth is I'm stressing about my speech this coming weekend (women's heart health event). Life's actual stressors don't have this kind of effect on me. Oh well, it'll be over soon. :)

No, I don't have any cardio history of my own -- although my dad died of a massive coronary, and hubby has had a double bypass.
The title of my speech (at the annual women's heart health luncheon in town) is: "Meeting Our Needs First: Selfish or Self Care?"
Anybody here able to relate to that topic? ;)

134s. Ice yesterday and 5-7" of snow tonight and tomorrow. I'll get some shoveling in before I leave ! I'm looking forward to time with my daughter, ten days of walking, weather near 70, and healthy eating. So much has changed ! It used to be all about junk food for the room and packing in as many indulgences and treats in as possible. Everything else was secondary. Wow !
I read something on MFP that resonated with me today:
"You have to embrace the tension of wanting more, before you can truly savor what you have."
I'm going to sit with this, as it relates to every aspect of my life. Time for gratitude is essential to my recovery, and something I often short change.
I am grateful to be on this journey with all of you !

Diane, I hope the weather cooperates for your leaving. It is supposed to snow in Massachusetts the next couple of days as well, so I'm glad we missed it.
