1465 calories yesterday with lots of protein.  For the most part I ate close to usual while traveling.  Sleep was a little elusive probably because of anticipation and nerves, but I finally had some deep sleep last night.

DH had a meltdown yesterday to some extent because he was overtired, so we need to get him back in routine.  He has had a couple of these since he since he stopped the Zoloft (due to uncontrollable diarrhea).  He didn't talk to Dr or me before stopping so I didn't know that he had done this until the day before we left. He did titrate off, but I think some of the anger is because of this and he is getting depressed again. While he was on it he was laughing more and generally more easy going. I'm going to contact his Dr about getting a different anti-depressant. I hope he is willing to prescribe remotely this time.  I think he will, as he has seen DH twice recently.

Closing on condo is at 10, then we have to get the internet going, food shop etc. We met the neighbors who share our building directly next door (there are 4 single floor townhouses together). Very nice people!

Can you believe that Super Bowl game? We had given up on the Patriots by 9, then they turned it around!  Have a great Monday!

Good morning everyone

Liz, hopefully DH will be settled soon.  Kairk how goes the cold?   And Dave photos would be nice again.

another day of being snowed in, literally.   Those of us who had to work made it with a lot of shovelling.   we are so not used to this.

calories were 1187 and exercise nada.  However late last night had an ah- ha moment and realized could use the three flights of stairs to get the juices going.  So off we go when the troops wake up.

For those of you who have snow every year I admire you so much.

Liz, yes, quite a game!

Zoloft's side effects kick in right away, But, that type of side effect will typically lessen and completely disappear after one has been on a stable dose for a few weeks.  Dose can be adjusted to give him longer time to tolerate.

In contrast, benefit can take up to 8 weeks to fully show.  Perseverance thru the early side effects is key.

By the way, this situation (stopping this type of medication after 2-3 weeks because of side effect) is super common.  His doctor won't be surprised at all and will be willing to work with you/him even without appt.   There are a number of possibilities for next step, but don't be afraid to ask for a low dose and a very gradual increase in dose.

Thank you Shel. I read this to my husband and he told me to ahead and contact the doctor about an alternative. DH probably would be adverse to continuing to take it and he was on the lowest dose anyway, so hopefully he can try something else.

Hope it goes well, it is so disheartening when it doesn't.  Most peeps want to try something different after that experience!  With most of those meds, he could start with 1/4 or 1/2 tablet if doc says it is ok.

Happy Snowy Monday,

Wonky day here!  Not much sleep, made it into work aok but no school and many offices are closed.

124 otd today.  1557 kcal, protein 97, carbs 100, fat 73, sugar 49, fiber 24, fruit/veges 5-6ish

Yoga has been kicking my azz in a good way lately.  Firmly believe it brings me what I need and apparently what I need a good joint flossing, fascia stretching and strengthening through out.

Have a great skinny day.

Shel

I like that description of yoga - I've done a tiny bit of yoga on the beach when visiting here and really enjoyed it.  I noticed that they have yoga a couple of times a week at the clubhouse in the park so after retirement I'd like to really try it.

Weight same.

Gray and raining again.

I did watch the first half of the game. Go figure! Loved the Gaga show and then went to groom Ace because I was pretty sure Atlanta had it (and I didn't particularly care...). Big surprise when I came back in the house and Ron told me the Pats pulled it out at the end!

Shel, I made the Kahlua pork yesterday using the Instant Pot. It was a success! However, I think next time I will add a tsp of liquid smoke. I missed the smoked/caramelized flavor of the traditional method. A 5 lb roast is going to last quite some time. I'll probably freeze half or 3/4. Such an easy recipe and the results are really spectacular. I recommend you all try it.

Ann, thanks for the fruit veggie tutelage! I took some time to rethink my normal food plan and made a few adjustments for today to see if I can incorporate more fruit and veggies. I'm on track so far, but I think I may have been too optimistic by planning a 1/2 cup blueberries, 1/4 green beans, 1 cup salad, a tangerine, and a banana for the day. We shall see. I'm hoping that the addition of the whole fruit will help with the in between meal cravings of late. BTW - the cravings have nothing to do with hunger!

I am making a concerted effort to be back on the WL track today. A three week hiatus is plenty and really, if I had not allowed the addict mode to continue, I could have pulled it together last week. I truly indulged the dark side last week. I am back to tracking today, too.

Cold is hanging on like a tick to a dog! I was talking with a mom who is a nurse and she told me the hospital at which she works has every single bed filled and the admin has decided to use the Neonatal area for overflow. (She's a NICU/neonatal nurse). She's upset because the newborns are being exposed. I can't say I blame her. Anyway, I'm using an inhaler on and off - which I haven't done in years! - since I quit smoking actually. That says something about smoking, huh?

Liz, glad you made it to FL safe and sound. Good luck with DH. Med changes are never easy under the best of cir****tances.

Hope the week is filled with success for us all.
