Hi, akindofmagick.  Welcome.

I was sleeved in August 2014.  Lost 100 pounds and have weighed 135 for the last year.  So maintenance is my game.

I'm new here, too -- beat you in here by just a few weeks.  I like the folks I've met here thus far.  So happy to see so many actual vets here at OH.

Sorry about your job.  But I know from personal experience that Big Changes can also be liberating and lead to even better things.

Welcome! You sound like a strong woman ready to take on the world and your weight!  My 2 youngest are also adopted (ages 28 and 25).   We look forward to hearing from you (they welcomed me last Fall and it is a great group).

Whew!  We made it to Saturday!

Loving my Saturday morning calm, coffee and quiet.  Yoga in a couple of hours.  Making biscotti before I go.  (I store ~30 cal portions deep in freezer.)

Liz, glad your trip has improved.

Ann, I am AMAZED that anyone gave you flack about tracking.  I do mock my engineer patients and their graphs but I am polite enough to do it behind their backs, at least until I know them better.  ;)  The people (and what make them tick) are what make my job wonderful.

But back to tracking on MFP, etc.  That is simply best practice.  Good for you and you graphs.

122's this morning

I'm going to change MFP to two categories:  50 were from work shrimp, I don't eat these at home (or I would turn into shrimp) so will be interesting what weekend numbers are)

carbs 109

fiber 26

Sugar 58

fat 62

fruits/veges: six-ish

cal 1725

Gotta get on the biscotti,  Create a skinny day!

Shel

Are your 2 MFP categories going to be "shrimp" and "not shrimp". Mine should be "protein bars" and "not protein bars". I'm living on those damn things - kinda like Dave and his Y&N - to the exclusion of a variety of other healthy choices.

OMG - accountant's too. I had a guy not too long ago that was very rigid and tracked every aspect of his life. I had to ask him at the first meeting what he had done for a career and I had guessed right - accounting! He was a very sweet odd duck! Very hard to convince him to change anything regarding the present way he was doing "life". Overall, it wasn't worth the stress it would probably have caused him, but a few tweaks could have benefitted him.

LOL.  I don't have a special relationship with shrimp. That is reserved for pistachios.

I'm glad that protein bars have never had a pull for me.

Funny about the accountant --- shared decision rules, right? I have seen graphs from those folks, too.  One guy (can't remember his job) made a story board  of our time together.  He said "I love storyboards) I guess so!

Y'all are funny -- with the shrimp and protein bar MFP categories.  And yes, some people are pretty weird.  But not us!

Yeah, the tracking critics don't bother me, not even my therapist.  I told him it's a gift, not a malady. ;)  And to be clear, my surgeon's team weren't criticizing me when they said I "wasn't normal" (like their other patients).  They clearly were giving me an A+.  :)

Because I'm an A+ kinda girl.  Always have been.  With perfect attendance, too.  And always wear clean underwear.

I'm kinda an A+ person as well! At the very minimum an A-, but always an A to some degree!

I only track food and weight!  I hate visible clutter in my house and have to have things balanced when I decorate.  So yes, I have OCD tendencies!  LOL It does make a good analyst/project manager...
