Good morning

JoeyJo, I have no words of wisdom but send you a virtual hug.

Lots of snow here which is very unusual.   So not an active day at all.   Plus too much food out of boredom.

enjoy your weekend,   Travellers I wish you well.

I'm posting from Fredericksburg thus morning as we arrived here at 8 last night. The drive went well after a somewhat crazy morning (lost medications, dead battery from car door left open all night, etc).  DS was wonderful in helping DH find things and get organized and packed.  We should be leaving here around 8 am and drive is much shorter so I expect we will be in Savannah by 4 and able to eat dinner there and poke around a bit.  We've never been there so are looking forward to getting a glimpse of the historic district.

I had about 1425 calories yesterday, a lot of which were almonds (easy to eat while driving).

Joey, I wish I had some insights to offer, but do encourage you to keep gathering information by reviewing good research and listening to those who've had actual experience with situations similar to your son's.  I won't see my psychologist until the 20th, but will ask his perspective then, if you would like.

And for us all, to quote my Mother and the KJV of Psalm 118:24:  "This is the day which the Lord hath made.  We will rejoice and be glad in it."  My version is:  "This is my life right now.  Don't miss it!"

135.6 - same. No exercise yesterday but that had been my only day "off" from it all week. Really wanted to snack last night but I held firm. Wish the scale would have rewarded my efforts!

I think we will know by the end of the week next week if we are moving to FL or staying in WI. Dreaming of warmth and Palm trees!

Play today and plan to do some exercise.

This is my first post to this group, although I have been lurking here for a couple of weeks, trying to figure out everyone's back story! I was sleeved on 18 June 2015, in Maryland, where we currently live. Have lost more than 80 pounds. Stalled for a long time - only lost 14 pounds in all of 2016, due primarily to having started drinking wine again at the 2016 New Year's! But I have hit the ground running with 2017, cut out alcohol and bedtime chocolate, and the weight is dropping off again.

I love to cook, mostly Chinese stirfries and vegetables, so we eat quite healthy fare in our family.  I am also a dehydrator convert, with a large backyard garden.  We are still happily decorating our lunch salads with crunchy bits: tomatoes, zucchini, eggplant and corn put up last summer!

I am retired Navy, and the single mom of two girls adopted from China, ages 14 and almost-13. I have been a government contractor since shortly after September 11th. Thursday night at 6 PM I was notified that my job funding had been cut, and I should go in Friday morning (yesterday)  to finish up and turn over my projects, and clean out my desk. This has happened before. It is very demoralizing, but this time I am not going to get depressed about it. I'm fired up and ready to make a major change in my/our life.  This may involve moving into a motorcoach and driving around this summer, to figure out where I want to retire!  My girls don't want to do anything that drastic - they want to stay in their school, with their friends. But it is an expensive private school, and unless I can get another local, high paying job, it's not going to be able to happen.

Looking forward to keeping up with y'all as we move forward on our mutual life/health journeys!!!

Welcome! Glad to have you join here! We have a great little group of vets, newbies and those in between!

I had my surgery just a few months prior to you. Got to goal within 8 months but now about 10 lbs. above where I would like to be.

Welcome! Magic? Akind?  Master dehydrator? I'm trying on names for you ;)

So glad to have you here.  I have been posting for just over a year and have found it a simple, but effective touchstone to keep me mindful.

I love vacationing in a motorcoach!  We rented one once for a trip to Yellowstone and another for Alaska.  Terrific experience

Sorry to hear about your job.  You sound resilient, tho.

Stick around, I am going to try to be a decent gardener this year and will need help.

Shel

How about "akom"?!!  It's been used on other forums. (It's from the title to a favorite Queen song, btw!)

or, just Sheri.  ;)

Thanks for the welcomes!!
