I'm sorry you are dealing with this. We had a lot of turmoil with our DS around this age as well, but he is a dear at almost 26. Doesn't make it any easier when in the midst of it though.

So sorry you are going through this. I think a majority of kids reach the point of independence with a little hatred, cursing and 5 portions of ungratefulness. He loves you. He needs to live in a cold in the winter hot in the summer, plumbing doesn't work and shares it with a dozen people type of place. If they don't ever get mad at you they will stay forever. All of ours have done it in one form or fashion. Later to tell us that it strengthened them. One especially carries extra guilt about the way he left home. We tell him he was just acting like a kid. Forgive himself and go on. We had a long time ago.

On Sunday I did a little housekeeping, laundry, and cooking. Lately Hubby and I have been in the mood for pasta, so I made a simple meal using Italian chicken sausage, Barilla protein-enhanced angelhair spaghetti (10 grams of protein, 4 grams of fiber in a 2-ounce serving), and ye olde Ragu sauce in a jar. I added grated Parmesan, but skipped the garlic bread. And now we've scratched our pasta itch. Was worth every calorie.
Come on, Monday - whi*****ludes the pool, more laundry and taxes. And glorious sunshine!
Sending out big hugs to those strugging with family stresses. We have ours, too (cancer, children's mental illness, recent family deaths). For me, the best part of my WLS journey has been learning how to manage self-care amidst others' needs. It's not an overnight success story, and I'm still learning.

I had my grandsons for most of the weekend. We had macaroni and cheese. We? Yep, that explains a lot. We also had ice cream cones each night. I bought Halo Top ice cream, which is better than regular, but I cannot get into that habit. My younger grandson is crazy about ravioli, so we also had ravioli. He thinks I am a great cook because I can boil frozen ravioli and add mozzarella and parmesan to the sauce. He's right, it is really good, but not exactly on plan.
If I am going to have them this often, I will have to force them to eat like me, because I cannot eat like them and cannot be fixing separate meals.
Onward.
PS- I notice that everyone is posting their macros, which is good because ... shocking news ... I have not been tracking, so I will start tracking again. Not exactly laziness, more like spinning plates in a hurricane and my plates are starting to fall.
Greetings Determined Ones
Wow, the stress meter is sure spiking for some of us. So sorry about the family issues Paula, Joey and all. Mental illness is so insidious because it has so much impact on everyone else. Hugs to all. Paula I wouldn't blame you if you let your son move out. Get a taste of the world, but yet its so hard because there is so much danger out there. Hugs to all.
Carbon, Liz has good advice on sleep hygiene. I've been an insomniac all my life and use ambien often. Wish I didn't but better than being up at 4 am. Insomnia was part of my weight problem because by 4 am you are hungry again or tempted to eat snacks for something to do. I try to drink a warm milk with a drop of vanilla in it. Smells good.
Oh Liz, didn't think about encountering the super bowl on your trip. Glad you planned ahead.
Dave you are really kicking a$$ and taking names on the trailer/shop project. Amazing how much you have accomplished.
132.5 today. I made cauliflower ricotta bake last night. Very good substitute for mac and cheese. Steamed a cauliflower, food processed with 4 eggs, 1 cup ricotta and a little cheddar cheese plus more on the top. baked 30 minutes or so. Very much a comfort food and I think maybe only 200 calories per serving. Not so high on the protein though. Could probably add more eggs. Plus there are two more meals from it.
Joey, frozen taccitos only have about 125 calories each and might be a good kid food. We have them on lazy nights.
Kairk heal up. Carbon, stay dry.
Hey my fitbit said I did 41 flights of stairs yesterday. Wonder how that happened. I only did the 3 steps in and out of our house. I did get a fair amount of flat steps in thanks to dog walk.
Oh well, breathe deep all. Air has no calories. Diane S.
"Breathe deep, all. Air has no calories."
Love that. :)

Hola, Muchahas y Muchacho!
Okay, so we may not be young, but what the hell, right?
Scale up a glorious 2.5 pounds today. Oh well... not enough water and some salty meat at dinner and 3 homemade chocolate chip cookies (Ron's SIL made a batch for Ron's b'day and sent them home with him. At least they were little drop cookies, not the big 450 calorie variety!)
See shrinky dink today and am doing the emergency grooming this evening.
I was reading about a woman the other day who was addicted to prescription drugs. Used uppers for energy and dieting and downers to sleep. One of her problems was setting impossible standards for herself - both in looks and achievement. The setting impossible standards in appearance really rang true to me. I do it. I wish I could say I used to do it, but I still do it to an extent. I'm going to talk to the shrink about that today.
Anyway, so far so good with food today. Am feeling iffy still, but took Dayquil this morning and am doing okay at school. The kids are being fantastically well behaved, which makes my job so pleasant.
Wishing us all a magnificent Monday!
