Good morning, you fierce protectors of health!

124's today.

I am terrible at garage sales; I have zero faith that I will come across a lucky find.  That makes me a terrible gambler, too.  Carbon, it sounds like that find was well worth 3 dollars.   Esp when you think of it in US dollars: 2.28.

I am craving nature.  Rain in the mountains so won't go there. Will try to take Buster to a park that allows dogs and horses.  Lots of tree cover provides protection from rain and horses are always good fun.  Yoga, too, of course.

DianeO, it is fun to see Sadie blossom into a service dog. Clearly a special girl.

Go hug a tree,

Shel

"Good morning, you fierce protectors of health!"

Not feeling like a fierce protector of my health at all today!

Terrible eating day yesterday and the scale shows it. I can get a good day or two in but for some reason am having a hard time stringing more than that together! Boooooooo!

Intentions for today: keep calories at 1,200 or less, exercise and finish my bible study for our group meeting tonight!

Wishing you all a good Sunday morning.  :)

Weight this morning was 134.8.

Yesterday's macros were:

Cals - 1,875 (yeah, more about that in a minute)
Carbs - 178
Fat - 84
Protein - 98
Sugar - 79
Fiber - 27

Yesterday's Exercise -- I didn't walk like I'd expected to.  After shopping with my friend we met another friend and had a great convo about women's reproductive rights. We're not all on the same page politically, so it was exciting to discover that we're in almost 100% agreement about those issues.  But our overlong conversation meant I missed out on walking, so now I've exercised only 4 days (not 5) in the last week.  Still, I consider my walk a worthwhile sacrifice in service to respectful civic discourse.  :)

About those cals -- Last night after dinner, I was just plain hungry, so I ate some yogurt with blueberries and, later, a cheese sandwich.  That didn't surprise me, since my cals last week were below what I normally eat.  This happens every once in a while -- when I'm hungrier than normal I sometimes eat more.  It doesn't freak me out, since I typically don't eat junk, and I'm inflexible about logging all my food.  In response, I dial my cals back for a few days.  So far it's averaging out fine.

Sometimes I imagine I'm almost normal.  Naaaah!

Greetings Cheerful Maintainers

Its Sunday and sounds like we are all in good spirits. 132.5 OTHD which pleases me. Especially after a sluggy day of gallery sitting. How many times can I dust the shelves and wipe away little bug corpses from around the windows. I walked in circles and did deep knee bend exercises.

Made a nice shrimp and veggie stir fry. Accidentally dropped a shrimp but ever watchful Tesla grabbed it.

Carnival glass vase sounds fun. Why not take home a little treasure now and then. I don't do garage sales much as we have a serious junk issue in our house but I mainly blame DH (ok its me too). Sorry for the family drama Carbon and everyone else who is experiencing it. Seems like everyone gets their share but some, like Joey, are getting it from all sides. No fair.

Well the skies are clear and no wind so its a good dog walk day. Nothing that I HAVE to do today but lots that I SHOULD do. Retirement is grand.

Well, countdown to Florida Liz. Should be great.

Good for Sadie being such a good dog. My Mother's main caregiver brings her little therapy dog to work with her. A little poodle who rides in my mom's lap in the wheel chair. Cute.

Dave, bet you can't wait to get moved in to 175 sq ft bit of heaven. We get a new housekeeper Wednesday and will have to spend most of Tuesday de junking and pre cleaning. But for now, more coffee.

Hey Ann, I like crosswords but the NY Times ones are too hard. Anybody play Words With Friends? At that I am pretty mean.   Happy Sunday.  diane S

Full disclosure:  Sometimes with the NYTimes crossword puzzle hubby and I do cheat.  Or as we prefer to say, "We educate ourselves."  Our goal is to be able to complete all the Saturday and Sunday crosswords by the end of 2017.  We are so not yet there, but we're definitely getting better!  ;)

First world challenges.  ;)

Good Sunday Morning! First order of business today is to figure out how to breathe through my nose! LOL!

It is Ron's birthday today. He is at the coast with his family. I stayed home with my cold and the dogs. Not sure what we will do when he gets back this afternoon. Maybe a nice dinner out. I'm feeling better and could certainly manage going our for a b'day dinner.

I am not a good sick person. By noon yesterday, even though I felt crappy, I was antsy. I got cleaned up, dressed and futzed around a bit. I made pressure cooker oats, cleaned up a bit around the house, and then finally settled into watching some TV shows we had recorded. Once I finally relaxed into rest mode, I was able to really notice that I really did not feel well. So, I basically did nothing else the rest of the day or night. I joined Netflix and binge watched 10 episodes of Grace and Frankie. Ummmm.... it is my new FAVORITE show.

Food for the day was just off. I started okay eating the oats with nuts, berries, and a 1/4 cup of homemade Greek yogurt. It was downhill from there. All I wanted was carbs - read comfort food, I'm guessing. I had eggs, roasted chicken and some cooked beef tenderloin in the fridge, but none of it appealed to me. I ended up getting a small pizza and having two slices. I had been obsessed with pizza since my friend texted me "To have pizza or not to have pizza - that is the question..." Her text put the pizza in my head and it never left! The power of suggestion! Damn! I also indulged in my ultimate comfort food - ice cream, which is really the worst thing for a cold - might as well drink a Phlegm-a-ccino!

The bright side of being sick this weekend is that I actually stopped and rested. I usually don't do much of that resting thing. Tomorrow the grind starts all over with a day that looks to be a full 12 hours of school, after school meetings, shrink session and then an "emergency grooming". (It truly is an emergency. The poor dog is having her ACL repaired on Tuesday and will be down for 8 weeks. Grooming after surgery would probably be horrible for the dog. I think this is the same surgery Sadie had.) I am working on building in me time, but it's tough and I fall off the wagon easily.

I heart Grace and Frankie, too.  I'll probably watch House of Cards in toto the first few days it's out.

I also heart retirement.  ;)
