Saturday January 28
Hehehehe, David - I had to chuckle when you said it was cold at 29. I looked at the temp today (high of 28) and decided it was nice enough to go snow shoeing - all relative to what you are accustomed to I guess! Don't get me wrong, I would much rather have 78 and sunny and I too think 29 is cold, but doable for this time of year in WI. Have fun moving the tools and try not to work too hard today!
134.2 - Ann we are weight twins today! Had a good eating day yesterday until I dug into the bag of Ghirardelli 60% cacao chips. I did get good exercise on the treadmill at lunch - back to my 4 mph with a 10% grade. Did that for 30 minutes and that was enough!
DH teaching the first half of the day, DS#1 singing with an Honor's Choir, DS#2 will be prepping for his party tonight and I'm pretty sure DS#3 and I will go snow shoeing. If you have to live in WI, best to find ways to enjoy winter at least a little bit!
Here were my macros for yesterday
Cals: 1,247 | Carbs: 139 | Fat: 44 | Protein: 104 | Sodium: 1,336 | Sugar: 53 |
Although I like Zumba and how I feel after the gym I have to admit that I am sort of enjoying my "vacation" from exercise (other than walking). No need to feel guilty when I don't do it right now,

Glad to see your exercise back where you like it! I feel that I am a little off on my routine. There have been times this week that I wrapped myself in blankets instead of moving.
I was feeling sorry for you this morning as I packaged up my amazingly fresh, unadultered yogurt. I just love the stuff and I felt sorry for you that you don't have the same experience! I know you love your usual yogurt.....but still! I might try to make ricotta some day but that might get me in some trouble. Maybe next year.
Have a great day outdoors today! I'll have to stay in the lowlands today with all the home/kiddo errands to do.

Good Morning, Mates! Happy to see so much chatter this morning.
126's today. Bump up but I can see water weight in legs. Ebb and flow doesn't bother me (repeat like mantra)
Today I am rich in gratitude but short on cash.
Our new furnace is being installed today, we will add on air conditioning, too. We have been without a furnace for just over a week! (I have wanted to complain about this in all caps every single day.)
We can usually get by without the furnace because we have two gas fire places that can keep us comfortable if need be. But one of those literally blew out the day the furnace went out. Much drama. The remaining fireplace provided just enough heat so we could collect bids rather than jump on the first offer.
The decision making process was stressful but I think DH and I navigated as a team better than usual. Nice to see that perhaps we can both break out of old patterns.
Looking forward to yoga today; I love the yoga but will particularly appreciate the warm room.
Hug your healthy skinny tight today!
Shel

Liz, My heart goes out to you and DH..I feel so bad when I see patients I have known forever start to show those signs. It looks like you and family have done a great job fortifying no matter what comes next.

Sorry to have missed out yesterday. The day just got away from me. Today I am home with a cold. First one of the school year. I decided that going to the dog show was not in the best interest of getting well, so I'm in my flannels and a hoodie drinking coffee relaxing and sniffling and hacking.
Enjoyed reading all the posts this morning. Lots going on for most.
Liz, I'm sorry DH is getting angry. My aunt hit the angry stage a few years ago and angry outbursts are still common. She even gets a bit violent, sadly.
Diane O., though your first check might have been less than anticipated, wasn't it nice to have that first monetary reward for al those years of dedication to the kids? I can imagine it was a great feeling.
Paula, glad the exercise is back where you like it. It is sometimes a push to get back into the swing.
Leap, I am fascinated by how you will pare down all your belongings to live a more simple life in the "tin can"! I look around my house and think I should purge some things stuffed into closets, but deciding what should go into the Airstream for a new, simpler life would be daunting.
Well, yoga, cross country skiing, snow shoeing, you all are so damn healthy! I have never had on a pair of skis, so I'm clueless there, but I get the idea that cross country skiing is not easy work. Show shoeing I could probably manage. Yoga, well, you all know that's on my bucket list. Still haven't gotten the guts to do it, but one of these days.... I did have a great workout with my trainer yesterday and am beginning to realize that my strength is improving. I am lifting, pulling, pushing much heavier weight lately and my muscle failure or burn level is much higher. I believe I am an absolute adonis under this layer of blub.
Read an article about how fat shaming is crossing the gender gap and it is now common for men to be fat shamed. Yup, I understand. Hell, in the gay community a separate culture was formed for overweight men. Seriously, there are places/bars dedicated to "bears" (overweight/chubby/obese men).
My weight is slowly creeping back down to pre loss of emotional composure levels.
Like Lesa, I'm a little tired of the energy I devote to my food life. Yet, being the disordered person I am with food, it is still somewhat necessary, I suppose.
Bon weekend, peeps!
Greetings Chatty Maintainers
133 today. UGH. Still far better than my former 247.
Gallery duty again today. There is a 10k race called the Clam Beach Run in the little town today. Part of it is run on the beach and the finish line is the mouth of a small river that you have to run through. They have ropes and such. I have never done it. A friend of mine has done it for over 40 years. At least the weather is good. Never understood why they do this in January. Probably to draw people as not much else going on.
Liz, sorry DH is getting cranky. It happens. Hope it keeps to a minimum. A have a friend with similar issues and she does better in a calm environment without too many strangers around.
Well I took my SS at 62. Figured out if I waited until 66 It would take nearly 10 years to make up the difference and meanwhile I would have to spend savings. Of course the answer may be different if you have earned income but I don't have a lot - just art income.
DH has Chip out for a walk and Tesla is making a fuss. Guess I will have to take here out in a bit. They don't do well walking together since Tesla just wants to pester her dad.
Glad you stayed home from the shows Devon. No fun if you are miserable. Eat some good chicken soup.
Get a good weekends rest, all. I am still trying to de-junk my house but hardly know where to start and hubby just keeps bringing more home. Maybe I should get an Airstream and put it in the back yard and make him live in it.
Stay warm. Hope the new furnace works well. We got a new one plus new duct work a few years back and its made a huge difference. Diane S
