Saturday January 28
I'm SO happy it is the weekend! I was still trying to absorb the job change yesterday so glad when the week was over. I broke out yesterday! I drove myself to the doctor to check a facial lump (first time driving since PS - lump is nothing, just keep massaging). I did errands with DS, AND we went out to dinner at one of my favorite spots. Just a pub type place, but it is busy all year and has a bunch of WLS friendly appetizers. I had my favorite crab cake last night - it was huge, so I get a second meal from an appetizer! DD is coming to visit today so we are going shopping for work clothing for her. Fun, fun!
We leave for Florida in 6 days - I can't believe it is coming so soon. We need to get packing this weekend.
One somewhat disturbing thing with DH. Anne, DH has Alzheimer's. He has had a couple of times lately when he can't understand what's going on and he gets very angry. Not good. He did it last night while we were waiting for a table. A man was trying to get past to get to his seat and my husband got mad at him which got the guy mad in reaction. Once the guy was seated I leaned in to apologize and explain that DH didn't understand. DH was then angry at me for talking to the guy. All was forgotten by DH within 5-10 minutes, but this new turn is disturbing.
True weight this morning (finally able to weigh first thing, no clothes, no coffee): 115.25 - I wouldn't mind going up some more, but at least I'm more or less back to surgery day weight (was 116 minus 1 pound of tummy skin).
Enjoy your weekend!

Liz, thanks for the explanation. I wish for you and all your family good health, grace, courage and joy in everyday things. It sounds like you have that in spades. :)

Yes I am lucky to have family support AND I have OH support as well. DH Alzheimer's is progressing slowly so we still hope for some good years. Hence the Florida condo purchase (he needs familiarity) and my end of year retirement plan. SIL (DH sister and my BFF) lives 3 miles from us at our year round home and is going to share the Florida condo. DS moved back from California a few months ago and will be living/working about 1/2 hour from us on Cape Cod.

Good Morning !
Received my first retirement check for January, and it is a bit less than anticipated. The state system underestimates payments for the first nine months, while it recalibrates final average salary. I'm hopeful it will all work out in the end. I am grateful for my consulting income, and Social Security at 62 is looking like a good plan.
Some home office organizing today and I'll pack for tomorrow's cross country ski adventure and begin to pull things out for California, in two weeks.
Sadie went to school with me yesterday, as it was a short trip. I wanted her to hear dropping trays and the clamor of an elementary cafeteria. As a therapy dog in training, she also needs to be comfortable responding when unanticipated things happen, like being swarmed by fifteen third graders. I was so proud of her. She laid down on the floor and gave me a "Any other suggestions" look. A bonus I had not anticipated was walking through the cafeteria at the end of lunch, practicing "leave it". Unfortunately, one command does not generalize, and toward the end, she got some lunch meat I hadn't seen.?
136... a bit of water retention going on, but it has been about two months since I've needed my full compression wrap. Yeah !!
Have a great day living the good life !!

Several of my friends did the calculations of SS at 62 vs 66 and ended up deciding that 62 was their best option. Not sure what I will do...

Morning everyone
a great food day but not many steps although I stood at work for 6 hours. I know that for many that is normal but it was long for me. Broken toes throbbing at the end of the day.
garage sales have started! More stuff!!!!
enjoy your Sat and all the best with travel plans!
Broken are tough - can't do much about them and you have to walk. I hope they heal quickly!

Morning weigh-in was 134.2 pounds. That's exactly the same as the last 2 days, which is odd, since my weight isn't usually this consistent.
Yesterday's macros and exercise ...
Cals - 1,567
Carbs - 214
Fat - 47
Protein - 70
Sugar - 91
Fiber - 29
Exercise - nil
Today's thrills will be helping a friend shop for a party she's throwing and doing NYTimes crosswords with DH - one of the best parts of our day. And walking!

Packing up the first trailer of tools to relocate to the shop in the woods. I need to tie everything down and then I'll be ready to go. But it is cold out (29) so it can wait a minute. Also need to fill pill packs for my Mom before I go out of town. I might not get much grinding done on the second half today. We have started putting things into boxes in the house and moving our keep stuff to the Airstream. It is amazing to me how much we can get in that tin can. Also, how much stuff we "need".
More later, David
