Friday January 27
Happy Friday! I'm glad it is the end of the week. I think I am presentable enough to go out finally after my facelift so I'm looking forward to doing some errands over the weekend. DD may also come to visit. I finally can sleep without the wedge pillow on the bed so DH can return to our room. I am seeing the surgeon today about a hard bruise on one cheek and some bunchy swelling on one temple. I think they will probably resolve on their own, but I want him to check it in advance of my appointment a week from now.
Well, here I am in my last 10 months before retirement and my company has reorganized me into a new role. I have new managers and I now have 4 people reporting to me. I always managed people in the past but for the last 2 years have been on a strategy position where I had no one reporting to me. Though I missed some of the mentoring, I didn't miss the performance appraisals and dealing with non-performers. Three of the four worked for me previously and one does have some issues, so I have to be prepared. She has been dealing with some work assignments for which she was ill-suited which caused part of it and has been improving, so hopefully we can restructure her job so that she has a better chance at success and get her on the right path before I go. I really just wanted to finish up in a role I was comfortable with so I could do my best job for this last year, but I guess this will work out. Luckily they are all fairly independent workers so I don't have to be in the office more than I have been (2 days a week usually). Funny thing is that my SIL who works for the same company may be reorganized into the same department (though with different managers/role). We haven't been in the same department since she was hired over 30 years ago!
Weight yesterday was close to true as it was before breakfast (though after morning coffee and water): 116, so I'm happy with that.
Speaking of dogs yesterday, one of my elderly ones just vomited twice on the rugs of course even though 90% of the downstairs is bare floors. And I also had to cleanup a puddle from the other one who missed the pad in the middle of the night. Both before 6 am! Sigh...
Have a good end of the week!

Good Morning !
Welcome Ann ! These past two weeks of "retirement consulting" have caused me to set new limits. I missed boot camp and swimming most days, partly due to early appointments and partly due to having to shovel and chop ice and snow. There are procedural and contractual timelines associated with teacher evaluations and Superintendent's Hearings. I make my own schedule, for the most part, and just have to spread things out more. I can't fit a 60 hour week into 25 hours. Liz... you are smart to mentally transition into retirement. It is much like transitioning into maintenance and I am seeing dishonoring some of the "me time" I've worked so hard for, will have a negative impact on maintenance for me.
Heading out to swim, then meeting a friend for breakfast. I get cuddle time with my two month old grand nephew tonight. Heading to Lake Placid to cross country ski Sunday/Monday. Now, these three days are retirement!

133.8. Pretty good eating day yesterday and did 45 minutes of step aerobics.
Work today. No real big plans for the weekend. DS#2 will have a small party on Saturday night. He is the host with the most for sure! He made pate last night for his party! Refined palate for a 17 year old I guess!
Have a great day friends!
Paula
Maybe he has a future as a chef like my DS!

Morning everyone
not a great food day. Forgot lunch so ate one of those ghastly sweet protein bars. Stared on the second one but threw it out. However that did start a binge at home until came to my senses and threw those out as well.
Sigh.
walked for an hour. Need to do more.
Have a good day!
124 OTD. Looking forward to the weekend. Maintenance eats have been pretty good.
Feeling grateful for lots today.
DianeO, your weekend sounds fabulous.
Paula, I love that DS is a foodie and creative in the kitchen! DD wants to make cucumber zoodles with pesto. I am hoping this signals a rejection of processed foods but I vow to be mute on the subject and just provide shopping and technical support.
Carbon, I can NOT believe how much food I over buy and eventually throw away after it gets me in trouble. I have improved but not by nearly enough. (Typing this makes me want to go to Costco)
Off to the races, hug your health tight today.
