I'm at 116 again today, which is better than 117 so no complaints. I just need to continue keeping those evenings calorie free. Really wanted a glass of wine when I got home last night but refrained. Not comfortable doing that with dd around anyhow so got through unscathed.

I have two days off, which I'm really appreciating. Weather is much milder so everything feels easier too. I'm noticing the days getting longer already. So nice!

peace out

I weighed myself after my shower with clothes and binder, after breakfast. 117.75.  I need to get this head-bra off so I can eat more!  Also took milk of magnesia to see if it would speed up my system a bit more so I feel like eating more.  Strange to feel this way!

Down .6 from yesterday, so the water is gradually leaving.

My eating was far from stellar yesterday, but not horrible either. More than anything, it was unregulated, if that makes sense. I didn't weigh and measure my breakfast/lunch and only the meat for dinner- though all were perfectly reasonable portions.

The real issue for me yesterday was grazing. I got stressed because my day was disrupted by having to take my friend's dog to the vet, which took 2 hours out of my day. I didn't even realize I was in grazing mode until I returned from the vet and dropping the dog off at his own home and I immediately went to the cupboard. I put the brakes on the grazing, but struggled with impulses to eat on and off until I went to bed. After I realized I had been grazing, I went back over my day and realized I had made some impulsive decisions - like three Hershey kisses out of the bowl at the vet's office. So, even though I knew that I was eating them, it was done without consciousness of my actions and the conflict with my long-term goals. Yet, looking at my behavior so logically and trying to gain understanding of the behavior rather than berate myself for it, is a win. Ever onward, right?

The plus of yesterday was that I did get all my evening meals planned for the week and have everything on hand that I need for the week. I have some butternut squash to cook up. Anybody have a good recipe or method for this squash? I'm branching out in the veggie department - or at least trying!

Cheers!

Hey Kairk, here is a great way to make butternut squash (or any squash). Peel and scrape out the seeds  and cube it (unless of course you got the already cut up kind). Cook it in a pan of chicken broth with salt and pepper. Puree it in the food processor and serve as soup. Add a blob of greek yogurt - either in the puree or on each serving. Winter comfort food.  Diane S. Could probably make it more like mashed potatoes with gy mixed in. Yum. I wanna go get some.

Greetings Unique Maintainers

What interesting stories we all have to tell. Dave, the genetic testing is so interesting and hope it helps you.  We all know that people react differently to meds and some can take certain ones and some can't. I never really thought about why but the genetic component makes sense. We are all indeed special.

Love the little shop in the woods. Looks like paradise. Wish we had one. And your county road looks like lots around here. One lane. Gotta put reflectors on the shop so no one crashes into it.

Liz, glad you are mending and you too Paula. Good luck on the kidney scan.

Ant man just came. Dogs are nestled snug in their crates. Our county is having a terrible problem with these little argentine ants. The airport is nearby and people who have left food wrappers in their cars and leave the cars in long term parking come back to find cars infested with ants! Gross!  We are really insistent at the art galleries that anyone who brings any food in must take the wrappers home and not leave them in the trash.

Well its cloudy but not raining but I think the deluge is to start tonight.

Well if you go The Art of the Song and the show with Mindy Dillard you can probably find the "I am full" song.

132 today. I'll take it. Chicken with home canned tomatoes last night. Running out of protein food. Trip to the store in my future. How can we have nothing to eat when the fridge is so packed (because it is full of jars with one pickle each, dummy).  Also need a  vet trip to pick up dog meds and special food for the old girl.

Well this old girl wants more coffee. Great to start the day with something I love. Hope you all had great morning coffee. Anyone not drink the stuff?  Diane S.

I don't drink coffee, or even like anything coffee flavored.  It's weird, because my parents, especially my father drank coffee all day.  I just never got a taste for it, and have gotten to the point that I don't even like the smell.  What I do like is hot, sweet tea, and have all kinds of flavors to choose from.
