Good morning all! Another cold morning in the Northeast again, but the snow from the previous weekend melted during the week so it looks like early winter again.  I still have no idea what I weigh but I have been keeping my calories up even though it has been a chore. I'm not particularly hungry (probably due to the issue in the next paragraph). I did make Devon's waffle again yesterday for a treat.  I could only eat 1/2 at a time.  The first half I had with sugar-free syrup, but the second half I had with sweetened ricotta (DH bought way too much for the ricotta bake). It was great!

TMI: Still a bit log jammed in the bathroom, though it is VERY SLOWLY improving.  I'm kind of bloated, so hopefully it will speed up soon. I've been taking stool softener but may have to take some Metamucil soon.

I am thinking of starting to work from home part-time and calling into some meetings/doing email today, but I still can't talk well with this head thing (apparently called a head-bra by some).  I'll decide later I guess.  Tomorrow I see the surgeon in the afternoon.  I think the belly drains will come out and hopefully the head-bra will be off at least during the day after that. That will make a big difference.  I don't know how long I'll have to stay sleeping on my back with my head elevated, but I am tolerating that better than expected and sleeping pretty well.  DH is sleeping in the next room because my wedge pillow takes up a lot of room and pulls the covers up too much.

Have a good day!

133.8, up just a hair - normal daily fluctuations. Weekend was pretty good, now back to work. The weeks fly by so quickly!

Liz, going back to work already (even if it just phoning in from home) is pretty ambitious. Are you sure you are ready? Take care of you!

Have a great day my friends!

I was thinking just a couple of hours, possibly spaced out.  All work will be from home until mid February.  I'll just see how I feel...

So far I'm not feeling up to working yet today - You were right Paula! My bathroom logjam seems to be in motion now and I'm a little queasy (might be related). I think I may just need to let my body get into a more normal eating and bathroom routine to feel like working.  No real pain anymore though, just discomfort.

Another crazy morning but do have a weight, 126 which is up a few pounds over a few days.

But that isn't the most exciting news.....I think I have a partial contact in one eye that isn't obscuring vision but is irritating.  And creepy to think about.   I try not to think about it.  I'll have the good peeps in the eye clinic look at it so I am sort of glad we are open for business today.

I made it to early morning yoga but the whole eye thing has thrown me off rhythm.  I forgot both my lunch and boobs at home.

Hug your healthy skinny tight today!

Shel

You forgot your boobs at home! Oh, how I love that! Now how many of your friends can say that? LOL!

I love your wicked sense of humor and the fact that you can say that here!

This is the ONLY place (besides my home) where I comment on my girl's whereabouts!

Good morning all!  143.8 today.  Moving in the right direction. Definitely a gym day today, skipped yesterday and missed it.  That's a good sign, maybe it's starting to feel like habit I hope.   Lots of good food prep yesterday evening, good proteins and more vegetables Lots of good low carb recipes on pinterest but I noticed a lot of them are heavy, like with a lot of cream cheese and heavy fat content.  What's with all the pages of "fat bombs" recipes on there?  I'm not necessarily trying for low fat because I don't want to be starving after a meal but doubt I need concentrated calories with my low carb. Have lost about seven pounds in the last two weeks. It all work so much easier when I plan ahead, trouble comes when I find myself hungry without good food plan and nothing available to eat.

One problem I think contributed to my regain was while at work I would never take a lunch break and eat while working.  Literally standing up and walking around, while nibbling saltines and graham crackers that are in our work kitchen for patients (plus the candy bowl in my coworkers locker).  I would start trying to track calories and realize that I could not even remember how many I had.  This  past weekend I decided to not eat anything unless I sat down and paid attention to what I was eating and that went very well, the job is a busy one but I can make time when I make it priority.  I ended up staying on track.  This is another habit I hope to get into.

Liz-you're healing so fast! That is great.  Glad things moving along in the bathroom department.  Was going to suggest miralax and glad that's not necessary.  I occasionally need that but when I do I have to remember to drink lots of extra water or feel dehydrated.

Shel, I saw a while ago where you had been in (I think) a 5K.  Did you use any particular running program to do that?  Haven't been doing any running, Sometimes I'll break into a short run while walking on the track but quickly out of breath, need to build more stamina for a sustained run. I think it would be a great project and lots of fun to build up to a 5k and do some of those races in the spring. Seems like it might be more motivating to have a specific exercise goal to work toward.

Carbondated-if you're reading, so sorry for your loss.  Be kind to yourself.

I haven't done a 5K recently...maybe someone else if you saw that in a recent post.  Or, maybe you were reading my mind? I was alos thinking about getting started again to prep for fun runs --- thinking specifically about a Mother's day one that I did last year.  It is a gentle up hill for the marjority of the run so I had some issues with that.  I think I can be stronger this year...

I have used couch to 5k plans in the past and liked them a lot.  Surprisingly effective without a lot of suffering.  They, of course, now have an app, too.

I think all the posts about fat/calorie bomb recipes normalize fat/calorie bombs.  It makes us all literally big girls and boys.

Up an undeserved pound. Keeping it in perspective (well, trying). Some days healthy perspective is easier than others. Today my reaction to the scale was a bit on the WTF! side. LOL! Well, I still intend to have a lovely day off from school. Federal holiday for MLK, Jr. remembrance. Will have to pound down some water. I can feel my hands are stiff in the knuckles - always a sign of too much water for me.

I have a list of "chores" that I want to get done in addition to a movie or massage. Probably a movie.

Had a busy day with clients yesterday, but Ron and I had a "date night" planned for last night and that was relaxing, enjoyable and refreshing. We went here to the American Kitchen in Lafayette - Home of comfort food. I had the grilled chicken breast. Ron had the Monte Christo from the Sunday Grilled Cheese menu. I had a bite and it was to die for. Thank goodness I liked my chicken. I also had half a cup of squash, pear and ginger soup. Pretty tasty. I had a few bites of sauteed kale (not sure if I'm a fan) and probably a TBS of the sweet potato mash. I ate almost the whole chicken breast - it was that good!

Must get on with the day! Cheers all!
