Happy Friday!   116.5 - Very pretty snow coming down this morning. Just supposed to be a couple of inches before it clears up this afternoon.  DH, SIL, and I are going to Boston for dinner tonight with family visiting from Oregon so hopefully it will be dry by the time we leave. More snow expected tomorrow night.  This weekend is the undecorating weekend.  I hate doing it but it must be done before I am laid up with my TT next week.

There was a lot of self-analysis and deep thinking going on yesterday by everyone here.  I wonder if I'll ever have time to do that. I feel like I spend 5 days a week focusing only on work and getting enough sleep and the other 2 focusing on catching up. I guess it really is getting to be time to retire.

Wt no change from yesterday.  Cal 1352

No Airstream steps happened yesterday.  I had good intentions.  It is 20 degrees this morning so I am stoking the fire in the shop so I can give it another go today.  I did manage to buy some parts that I need in order to finish the lights and ho****er heater.  But that was the extent of the productivity.

Liz, Snow here too, sounds like you are squeezing in a lot in the next few days.  It is nice that you can work from home.  Good luck with PS.

Shel. Food as sedative doesn't work for me.  Chewing on something is the closest thing to pleasure I get from food since WLS.  Except for N&Y of course.  I do graze when I am stressed.  But I don't get satiety from grazing just comfort (?) in the compulsion to eat.  I have never felt the absence of my physical bulk.  I am constantly surprised to see my dad's face and body size when I look in the mirror. I keep looking for the fat guy.

Kairk, I will check out Kris Gunnars.  Can't hurt.  Gain another perspective.  Glad you are still feeling positive.

brownblonde,  I too think dieting is easier in the action but harder to shut up and get on with it.

DianeS, I know what you mean about your shop being so full it is hard to turn around,  Mine too.  I dread moving it all to the shop in the woods but it is more than 2 times the size so I will be good for a while.  I can't do much alcohol, 1/3 of a glass of wine and I'm spinning and nauseous. A tablespoon of whiskey affects me like 2 oz before WLS.  I used to drink for pain control.  Now I use narcotics which may also be contributing to my weight regain.  It slows metabolism and gut motility.

Linda, Hope your dinner party went well.

Stephanie, I can relate but it is with nuts and yogurt when I think I have enough for breakfast and it has been eaten in the night.  Especially when I am in a phase of not buying anymore.  Morning is my time when I want to eat, feel like I have to eat.

Diane O, I know what you mean.  It was 8 years between cleanings.  I went in because I had to (tooth in crisis)  My teeth were in good shape and she said maybe try for 2 years instead of 8.  It has been 2 years.  I need to go.

Paula, 60 CE is a bunch.  I need 15 over 2 years. I keep it up in case I ever return to work in nursing.

124's

Looking forward to work today (generally, I like my job.)  I feel like my activity has suffered this week and plan to kick it up for the weekend.  Hopefully at least one day of skiing as well as the usual.

Be healthy today.

Shel

No drama.  Almost all of the dating profiles say that.  I am always in the middle of a hurricane and it keeps getting worse.

I've posted about my parents' illnesses and deaths, my son-in-law's massive stroke at age 44, unsuccessful surgery, etc., etc.

New Year's Eve, my daughter's kidneys failed.  She was admitted to the hospital, yesterday she got a port for dialysis and she will have a kidney (and pancreas) transplant within 6 months to a year.

GOOD NEWS -- Obese people cannot donate a kidney, so thank God for this surgery.  I am classified as overweight, but not obese!  I am her best bet for a match.  More good news -- They are going to do a pancreas transplant at the same time and if it works, it will CURE her Type I Diabetes.  It will not cure her gastroparesis, but no more low/high blood sugars, finger *****s, shots and risks associated with having Type I Diabetes.

Hashtag looking on the bright side

I am so sorry to read about your daughter. I am so happy that you are an able and healthy match for her! Best wishes for successful surgeries all around!

Hospital side note -- The food they have been serving to my daughter is horrendous.  Chocolate cake?!  She is not eating.  I have been bringing her healthy soups.  I poured salad dressing on the chocolate cake so it would not tempt me.

But I have a new mantra to stop any thoughts of stress eating -- Obese people cannot donate a kidney!
