116 again this morning. We are all home today, returning to work tomorrow.

House looks like a murder happened - we accidentally cut into one of poor kitty's nail quicks last evening and it's been tough to get the bleeding to stay stopped. Hopefully it holds today!

Planning to take down the tree and clean up the bloody floor, carpets, furniture, walls, bedding, etc.  You get the picture!

have a good day everyone

Two words - Quick Stop! A must have when doing pet's nails. Any styptic powder will do and is a God send in situations like yours last night.

We will pick up some Quick Stop for sure!  Of course we could only use what we had on hand last night, which we had limited success with. Ground up an old styptic pencil, also tried stuffing corn starch in. Both worked as long as we could stop him moving around but nothing worked when he vigourosly shook his foot :(

lesson learned the hard way

I am up a pound. I'm a bit surprised, but I'm gearing up for getting back on track. Part of today will be spent in meal planning and prep for the week. That is a habit I need to return to in short order. I have been far too loosey goosey with being prepared to eat well balanced healthy meals the past several weeks. I have to admit that I happily indulged my lackadaisical approach to healthy eating the past two weeks. I also have to accept and own that most of that eating behavior was compulsion driven.  Aw, heck! Honesty is brutal, huh?

Saw the movie Passengers last night. Critics be damned! Really the best movie I've seen this fall/winter. Guess critics don't like an old fashioned love story - even if it's set in outer space. I think it's worth a go see. I loved it!

Got all the lights off the house yesterday, packed and put away in the garage rafters. We undecorated most of the inside, too. Leaving only a few "essential" things out until Epiphany on Friday. Then come Saturday, all that will be put away.

If yesterday holds to be a representative of this coming new year I can expect to be focused, productive, self assured, motivated, and willing to compromise, BUT still be assertive and stand up for my own needs. Damn, that's promising!

Back to the grind tomorrow, so I must prepare. Welcome back to reality of routine, peeps!

I loved Passengers!  We saw it when we were in Ruidoso.  Then walked right back in the theater to see Collateral Beauty.  I cried through most of the movie.  Deep sadness in that movie.  Both movies are worth seeing for different reasons.

i tried to get Andy to leave up our tree until Epiphany but he refused.  All our Christmas is put up!

We decided to leave the Christmas decorations up until next weekend. I hope we will have the time to do it then as we have kind of been lazy all day today -- we would have had plenty of time today.

I actually like taking the tree down on New Year's Day myself. However, once I understood the importance in Ron's thinking and faith regarding leaving the tree up, I deferred to his wi****'s a little thing for me and means the world to him that I support his liturgical traditions.

Instructor didn't show up for boot camp, so I swam a mile instead. Happy to be moving !!!  I'm meeting a friend for breakfast tomorrow... because I CAN !! I'm retired !!  Babysitting my grand nephew later, so my niece can go to the gym for the first time after giving birth six weeks ago. Then a dentist appointment. Love being able to schedule my time at will.  Gearing up for the west coast for two weeks in February. I was 124-129 last time I visited my daughter... I may split the difference, and aim back 129-134. I don't feel quite as fit at 134-139.

I am loving life !!
