VSG Maintenance Group
Friday December 23
OMG - only a group like ours can understand the call of pecan pies and Oreo cheese balls. Now that I've seen Kairk's picture, I can assure you that I would have had to scarf several as well!

Greetings Holiday Buddies
Well 132 OTD. Guess thats ok. Three days of gallery duty in a row are over and I am relieved (even though I realize I sound like a lazy slob to those with full time jobs). It also meant 3 days of cheese sticks and atkins bars since I have to take something I can eat while there.
Liz your Christmas plans sound exhausting but fun. Good for you. You may be the only person on the planet who loses weight over Christmas. Enjoy your events.
Everyone else enjoy your friends and family too. Lets all try not to let other people's problems overwhelm us. It can happen so easily this time of year. Ditto for other people's food which will be orbiting everywhere.
Have a few errands to run - mainly getting fresh ingredients for christmas pot luck dinner with friends and checking gallery banking. I absolutely dread the grocery store this time of year and I can't get everything I need at one store so its a big pain. Also, nothing is wrapped. A couple of people dropped out of our Christmas group for this year so fewer gifts but most were bottles of wine.
DH got a quart of eggnog which I spied in the refrigerator. I am going to avoid it.
Well in a couple of days we can all relax and the oreo cheese balls will be history. Diane S
First things first! I read "oreo cheese balls" and my reaction was this:
Then I googled the damn things and saw that they were this: and had a change of heart. YUM! I had envisioned some sort of cheddar ball rolled in Oreos instead of nuts. BLECH!!!!! The real version I would happily scarf down. And David, if you ONLY ate 4 after starting, hats off to you. That would have been hard for me to keep it at 4 had I started and they were available. I do best with chocolate truffle treats to take one and LEAVE! Much easier for me, if there are no others to covet and gobble down.
I have had very little sleep the past couple of days. No weight today, but yesterday at Oh dark thirty my weight was the same as the day before. For me it is almost best not to weigh after a day of 12+ hours in the car. Good news is Ace is home and Blue has been successfully bred (to both frozen semen and a live donor! - yup, two puppy daddies! Kinky, I know. But when dealing with 20 year old frozen semen, it's best to have a back up.) Left the house at 5:30 am yesterday and arrived back home at 7:45 pm. All but 90-120 minutes spent driving. Today I was up and out again before 6:30 to drive to the peninsula with Blue for the live breeding.
I have had plenty of coffee the past two days and very little water. Must fix that. I got home about 12:30 this afternoon and fixed a nice one egg scramble with some sliced turkey breast and salsa and a little melted cheese. I had a nap and then got up, went to the the gym and worked with my trainer, and now have to do the grocery shopping for Christmas Eve and then see about wrapping some presents and fitting in some dinner, too!
I want a "fun" day. Hell, I deserve a fun day! I have decided that Monday will be my designated "Fun Day". I am looking forward to it! Plan so far is to sleep as long as I want and include one of the many fantastic movies that are out right now.
Christmas Shopping FYI - As a representative for the gender of the species I wish to announce that I did my Power Christmas Shopping on Tuesday night and it was a brilliant success! Spent just over 2 hours getting everything picked out and purchased! (Of course, it does help to know basically what you are looking for for each person.) I believe if more people Power Shopped we would have far less shopping congestion during the Holiday Season.
Thanks Diane O for your mindful inclusion of owning one's reactions. Good to remember always, but especially at this time of year.
I am feeling this evening like the weight of the world has been lifted off my shoulders. Perhaps singing Christmas songs for hours on end in the car yesterday helped. Maybe it's because I have no clients until Tuesday, the dog stuff is taken care of and I can let go. Whatever the reason, I welcome the feeling.
Merry, merry everyone!
I'm glad the weight has been lifted. You definitely deserve a fun day!
