Thursday December 22 (I think that's right)

117.5 - ate way more than usual yesterday, but tried to make them mostly good calories (other than the white chocolate macadamia nut cookie...).  No food today - my chicken broth can't even have protein added (I asked). Colonoscopy tomorrow - will be glad to have that checked off the list.

Kairk, I think you should keep that lovely doggie. Mine are family for me - I couldn't give it up!

I am working about a 10 hour day today which is good for keeping me busy (and not focused on food).

Have a wonderful low-stress day!

Good Morning !

Hanging in there by the skin of my teeth.  My positive thoughts and energy go out to all of us struggling with realities and choices.  The situations/issues may be out of our control, but we own how we respond.  Many of us developed our disordered thinking about food parallel to disordered thinking about ourselves and our value. Protecting our hard fought physical and emotional health is our first priority.  Filter everything else by that, and things will begin to fall into place.  We've got this !!

"...we own how we respond"    So true.  My disordered brain bristles at even reading that, tho, and immediately comes up with push-back narrative.

Just goes to show that my auto-pilot is disordered, I have to deliberately stay mindful to stay on path.

Teeny, you are such a Yoda.  Thanks for being here!  (I held off calling you Teeny for DAYS!)

121's.  I really need to get a formal yoga class in today, no matter the time it takes.  There is an underlying peace that comes with regular practice that I miss if it don't have a guided class.

A patient that doesn't know my weight history gave me a lovely box of chocolates yesterday.  Her Christmas card noted she appreciated that I took away her anxiety as she unknowingly handed me my personal kryptonite.

I lovingly cradled the box in my hands, thinking impure thoughts.  In the end, I forgot to bring it home.  I still plan to leave it wrapped and use it at Christmas gatherings.

Stay strong, peeps!

132.4. Boooooooooo!

Day off today. Will get in some form of exercise, no sure what yet. I did buy some snow shoes last year that I didn't get to use yet. Perhaps I should dig them out, especially if we might be moving south!

Lot of good thoughts from you all.

Paula

I bought snow shoes from Costco recently.  Now, if I could just get the family to go out with me.....somehow snow shoeing cries for company where as cross country skiing I like to do by myself.

I feel the same way about the desire for company when I go ice skating. We have a beautiful outdoor rink in heart of downtown but rarely get there for the same reason.  Wish I was there to show shoe with you!

Food is such an ongoing battle.  Eating stuff I don't crave.  Not wanting to cave to the cravings of what I do want.  It is all an inner war.  The frontline of the battle is my mouth.  Where is the super glue??  Christmas party tonight.  I own my behavior but, looking over the past 2 days, I think I'm losing the war.

We rescued 2 of our 3 dogs.  It is funny how quick you can become attached.  Each added dog is more involved with money, time, space and stress.  You can't keep them all.  I told DW I didn't want any more pets or children.  LOL

Seek peace.  David

Christmas is tough with all the temptations and memories. I think the best thing is just to forgive yourself after a bad day/spell and get back on plan. That's where I used to fail so badly - once I got off plan on a diet I'd just say the heck with it and keep eating.
