160 something still...And, I've got a Blinking cold ( thanks for the verbage, Carbon). I can't breathe through my nose, coughing, sore throat...blah blah blah! I'm on Christmas Break and sick...Nice!!   Oh, well...I'm on Christmas Break! Yay!!

Celebrating my friend's 50th birthday tonight with food and drink.  Should be manageable.  This summer is his trip to Ocean City, MD.  When Andy turns 50, he want to go to Hawaii, although that could change.

Hope your son finds a job, Liz.  Love your fur baby!

Carbon, feel better!  It's cold here, too, But not THAT cold.  We may see snow flurries.  You're almost on break, Diane O. and Devon!! Dave...love the airstream!  Diane...what's the name of your gallery, again.  I want to take another look!

Love to All!

121 OTD

I have had a blinking start to the day.  Didn't drink coffee at home cuz DD wanted to stop at Starbucks (a rare before school treat) -- but line too long so no coffee and then drove into Seattle to a fancy bacon place that supposedly would be open.  But, it didn't appear open and I didn't want to try the door because I am sure that the place doubles as the fancy bacon man's home.  No coffee.  No bacon.

If you could retire and do anything, what would you do?  Fancy bacon man is a retired IT exec and he chose artisan charcuterie as his next thing.  I'm looking forward to meeting him.....he will be at a local farmer's market tomorrow so I know I can track him down to secure DH's gift of bacon.

X-Country skied yesterday after an early morning meeting. I was asked "you are going alone?" at least 10 times.  Does this make me weird?  I like my family and doing things with the family.  But, I find being out in the winter wonderland almost meditative and frankly it has been such tough year family wise that I want to run away from them sometimes (maybe a lot of times.)

Dial in your skinny!

Greetings Christmas Warriors

131.5 OTHD (on the half dot). The sun is out in full force and its cold but nothing like mars. Cold here is in the 40's and thats above zero.

Carbon, I find an advil and or quinine water helps leg cramps. Boy do I hate those. Seems like I would have phases where I got them and then years without. Hubby too.

Love the picture of the fur friend by the fire. Wish I could curl up there. Our house has no fireplace and I miss having one. Lots of people here have only wood stoves for heat. Its really an enjoyable warmth but I would hate to have to keep up with wood all the time.

Well my art galleries are Arcata Artisans  and Trinidad Art Gallery. They both have web sites and lots of pictures. Gotta stop by today and check the till for banking.

The ant men are coming back today to retreat. We are still seeing ants and they said they would be all gone in a week.

Well I got my Christmas dinner assignment yesterday. The main dish is ham and I make a pretty good home made chunky  apple sauce thats a good side dish. also cheese crisps. Also chicken liver pate which several people swoon over. Guess I am cooking after all but two of three can be made a day ahead.

So everybody try to relax and enjoy the holidays   Diane S

p.s. the airstream tour was wonderful. Everything so beautifully designed and executed. Kudos Dave.

Hello Family !

Still in my sweet spot !  Had Sadie back at the vet.. she's just not bouncing back..still coughing. We decided to try a new antibiotic before doing x-ray, as herblungs sound clear. She's eating like a horse, so that is a constant.

Trying to reason with my 30 year old daughter that two years  in CA doesn't make you the best candidate for driving in heavy snow.  Work in progress. Count down in single digits... but I'm not counting !
