Good morning!

121's.

A thought on significant others (aka "Ron") -- totally agree with Ms Plum that he isn't ready.  I hear this thought process everyday at work.  Peeps truly want to improve lifestyle because they suspect that the reason they need their first (or 4th) blood pressure med is because they need to lose a few pounds and start some (just a little!) activity.  And they are right about that so we explore the what's-next.

Their what's-next is to complain about  whatever straw man ("Devon")  is preventing them from changing lifestyle.  Sometimes the strawman is work.  Whatever.  Anyway, they are pre-contemplative about change.

I tell you, tho, it is a beautiful thing when someone converts to the next stage of change and starts to propel themselves forward.  That is why our docs love to see each and everyone of us.  No matter what is going on in our dysfunctional minds, we are successes. (And, successes against almost all odds, at that!)   As it was noted recently, we are not giver-uppers.

I bow to your beauty, my warrior friends.  Thanks for being here!

Shel

114 today. Not eating the work treats but doing some evening snacking from time to time. It never serves me well beyond the brief pleasure in the moment.

Two days off!  Our beautiful Fraser Fir has been sitting bare for almost a week!  Time to honour its life being given, right?  DH is still snoozing and DD is at work so a few moments to myself here. Enjoying the time to reflect.

I successfully completely my probationary period at work and things are not feeling as mentally stressful there. I'm doing well and I love the work. The physical stress is still taking its toll but getting much more manageable. That means I'm getting stronger, which is a good thing for this slothful person. I always get in 13-17,000 steps on workdays :)

peace and hope

What a nice way to build steps into your life.  Are you going to be full time --- or maybe hours worked depends on volume?  It is nice to work for a company that invests in full training tho I am glad you are past that stage, now.

204.  Not happy that the scale has not gone down.  This cannot be my new normal.  I have had different lunches this week due to holiday parties.  I have kept it pretty clean, but not enough to move the scale.  My fault, I have to do the work to get the results.  Onward.

I caught myself with a little chocolate mousse tart in my mouth (not even good) that I mindlessly popped into my mouth because it was there and was going to go to waste.  I heard "work for results" in my head, grabbed a couple of napkins and spit it out.  Although I have made my share of mistakes, the mindlessness of it scared me.  I went outside for a walk, got 1/4 of the first lap done and ran back inside frozen.  Points for trying.

Greetings Interesting People

Goodness what a range of discussion items today. Never a dull moment in this group. I do not have much of interest to add. Still orbiting 132 but no gain is a good thing.

Well if I were going to get new boobs I would for sure ask the surgeon how much the implants would weigh. As it is, I have adequate boobage (at least according to DH) Though they are saggy. Oh well. Thank heaven for good bras.

A lot of rain last night. Its let up for the moment but more predicted. Somehow rain is more chilling to me than snow. Hope the studio has some indoor kilns running. Keeps the place toasty.

Yikes, Christmas is sneaking up on me and I am not ready. Need to get cards and money gifts in the mail pronto to my mother's care givers.

Gallery board meeting tonight. They are like a Seinfeld episode - much ado about nothing. But we always drink a bottle of wine which is the main reason many show up.

Well only 11 days until Christmas. Then hopefully all the food bombs will disappear. Lets all take a deep breath and let go of the holiday stress.   Diane S

I agree that rain feels more chilling than snow!  Good luck with the holiday stuff everyone - I find the last minute "I forgot to get something for..." to be the most stressful along with stocking stuffers for the now grown children (regular gifts for immediate family is easier to plan for).

New post on the Airstream for anyone that wants to see my steps.

Going to try N&Y abstinence again.   Starting tomorrow when I finish the last of the yogurt.

I so am thankful for this group.  I have not done maintenance well.  You all are such a support.

Onward.

Seek peace, do good.

You, sir, are one talented cabinet maker! The work you've done on the Airstream is fantastic! Your craftsmanship is a talent I do not possess. I am very, very impressed by the transformation of the trailer. It's really awesome what you've done.

Okay, as for maintenance, big whoop! You dont' give up. You come back for support and you own your behavior. I sometimes feel like you do today, but I gotta say looking from the outside in, you're doing pretty darn well. Losing weight is the easy part. IT's the long term lifestyle changes that are the challenge!

Onward, friend, yes Onward!

Love the airstream! For second I thought you had installed a built-in scale, but no, it was a sink....which makes a lot more sense.

What's the next project?

Good luck with no-N&Y
