118. DS back from chef tryouts - doesn't sound hopeful (either he isn't interested or they aren't). He needs a job, but it is seasonal here, so he is going to have to go out of this area. Frustrating and not sure he has the same urgency I do. Hmmmm...

Going to a holiday house tour today and hoping the shuttle is heated as it is very cold here. Have a thin day!

140 OTD. I've been hanging at 135, with five pound swings either way. Trying to increase the water intake, to get things flushed. I'm in the single digits of count down to retirement ! So looking forward to regular exercise routine at times that work for me, not my schedule !

Sadie has Bordatella again... much worse this time. She is one sick pup ! I am pulling her from day care (she had been back three times) and the class we were scheduled to take in January at the same facility. I need to strictly control her environment to get a handle on what is compromising her health.

After much research, I will consider a revision to RNY to address acute reflux before I will consider Linx device, which will be NEVER. The device is too new and there is not enough data on erosion and slippage on a "normal" anatomy, let alone a sleeve.

I hired two HS students to bake the holiday sugar cookies I needed for several events. I've had all of that white sugar and flour out of my house for almost two years. I can't imagine letting it back in... thinking outside the box and putting recovery first are essential for me, especially at this time of year.

We can finish 2016 strong, and start out 2017 on a roll !

Love your reasoning on the Linx. And, so smart to outsource your baking!  And what fun for those students!

Sorry to here about Sadie.....poor girl. Sending healing vibes.

What a clever idea to contract out for your baking needs! Clever, clever, clever indeed!

Came up with a solution to China dog being cold in the night.  I keep a small room in the shop heated to keep all of my paint and glue from freezing.  I was Heating the whole shop to keep China warm.  As our winter is just beginning I am not looking forward to getting up in the night to stoke the fire in the shop. So I cleaned out the paint room and put China's bed in there.  Win / win.

DW's family has a tradition of making Ice box fruit cakes.(no bake)  As DW's grand mother became too elderly to maintain the tradition I found the recipe and have continued the tradition for 10 years or so.  It is loved by my children and MIL.  We made them yesterday and need to get them distributed to the kids so they won't be in the house.    I am conflicted making them because they are basically carbs and fats.  But they do bring back childhood memories for all.

Your fruit cakes would meet my definition of a carb/fat food that it is worth it.  A limited seasonal treat made with love by people I love with history that spans generations.

Right now I am missing my grandma Olsen's fudge. A little teary-eyed, in fact.

Good morning all!

121's.

I have a new energy for decluttering.  That urge always lives in my mind but in recent weeks I have turned it into action both here and at work.  The ability to get things done is an old positive characteristic of mine that I now realize went missing with the massive weight gain.

I like to think the logistics of my skinny VSG-life are becoming more normal so there is space in my mind for other things. Rediscovering my ability to get-it-done is an unexpected present in this holiday season.   Hope it sticks around.

Hug everyone today---that includes your skinny self.

Shel

130 OTD. We are getting a snow storm but it is downgraded, probably only 5 inches when it is done.

Super busy but good day yesterday. Had both lunch and dinner out though so not as in control of calories/macros. DS#1 chose Melting Pot for his college acceptance celebratory dinner, lunch at Qdoba was easier making good choices (just had 1 chicken taco on small corn tortilla).

Church today, need to wrap the Christmas/birthday presents that I have here. Might start baking cookies. I bought the frozen cut out ones - all I have to do is bake. DS #2 is having a cookie decorating party for his B-day - decorating Christmas cookies for his birthday activity has been a tradition for years. Will make DH some dark chocolate walnut clusters for Christmas too. I don't like walnuts, too bitter for me, so not a temptation thankfully. There are plenty of other temptations around though!

Bought my first bras after augmentation - I'm at 34 D at the Hanes/Bali/Leggs outlet store and a DD at Victoria's secret! Was only a C even when I was heavy (of course I was a 38-40 band size). I don't think I look too big on top at all, proportions must be okay.

Have a nice day and week my friends. Protect your skinny (I soooo need that reminder every second of every day!)
