VSG Maintenance Group
Tuesday December 6
I received an email at 2 yesterday afternoon cancelling my business trip. Though I was looking forward to the break in schedule I was uncomfortable about leaving DH at home alone for too long. I had notes all over the place. So I am driving into our Boston office for the day, but back home this afternoon. Woke up at 3:45 am and couldn't go back to sleep. Possibly because the TV was blaring downstairs (DH left it and all lights on last night). Time to set the TV to turn off automatically at a set time!
118.6 this morning. Pretty much holding steady at about 1200 calories which I'm thinking is probably my maintenance level.
Happy Tuesday!

Woke with head stopped up and productive cough. I will go back to sleep but not until my head opens back up.
China dog is eating again so I think she is on the mend. I have a wood fire in the wood heater going for her. She has me trained pretty well. It is not very cold yet tonight but it makes me feel better. The boxer is on the rug by DW so he must have been having trouble of some kind as he normally sleeps on his bed in the living room. We also have an outside cat with a cat house and warming pad to keep her warm. We have to keep a check on her because stray cats will chase her out of her own box. Reached up to pet her one time and another cat ran out.
Liz, they have programable timer switches on amazon for $15. some of them you can control from your phone. Good luck.
Last airstream video is almost edited.

Good morning,
120's.
Good 2 year follow up yesterday. I confessed that I had fallen off the vitamin wagon over the summer. When I finally restarted, I restarted with PatchMD. Surgeon had questions about pricing, what is in them, etc. I went into my pharmacist consultation mode when explaining the (ample) potential pitfalls. But, the payoff is adherence which is no small thing. She said she just wants her patients to have good overall health/nutrition and if the patch works, then she has no issues with it at all. For now, my available labs look good, including Vitamin A and Magnesium which were low a year ago. We will recheck in 6 months which is an earlier check than usual.
She said that I would be the first patch patient. The bariatric nurse said that they have just one other patient "doing their own thing" when it comes to vitamins. I pointed out that there is just one other patient who admitted to doing their own thing. The nurse seemed to think I was wrong about that.....that everyone else is compliant. I know adherence studies for prescription drugs prove differently, over and over and over again.
Enough about that. Paula, take that candy to work! Liz, glad your trip was canceled....sounds like it is for the best. Excited that Airstream pics are coming. Linda, glad you wrestled your candy-thing into submission.
Stay warm and skinny my friends.

You are guilty of being human! My willingness to use the patch shows just how non-compliant I was. I do worry that my obstinance to using the oral forms might get me into trouble.
The bariatric nurse said that there are now some recommendations for everyone to chew their vitamins forever and ever. My resistance to oral vitamins increased a million-fold.

131.2, candy is definitely going to work. My goal for today is no "junk" food and to get 30 minutes on the treadmill, even if at a much slower pace!
Interesting about Patch MD. I'm going to need to change up something myself. B-12 is too high. My PCP wants me to eat less meat - like that is going to happen! I think I might just drop one of my multivitamins a day but fear going low in other areas too. I will switch from Centrum Silver woman's to just Centrum Silver - has about 1/2 of the B-12, but still over 800% over RDA if I take 2 a day! I had stopped my extra B-12 after my labs last time showed a high B-12. I had had vitamin D toxicity as well and needed to stop taking extra D.
Time for a healthy breakfast - will it be a protein bar or yogurt with pomegranate?
