VSG Maintenance Group
Sunday Nov 28
Sounds like you had a good day yesterday Carbon. Enjoy your guests!
DH, friends and I had a good day yesterday. Went to sand sculpting contest late afternoon (photos below) then out to dinner with a group of 15 on the pier in Fort Myers Beach.
Viewed 6 condos in Fort Myers area. Though several of the units were beautiful, in general we didn't like the grounds and facilities. No trees and no people even at places with really nice clubhouses. Very different environment than the park we are staying in with our friends (streets lined with live oaks with Spanish moss trailing - very serene and cool; even off season many people in pool or sitting in rockers on the porch of the clubhouse chatting). Also the beach is as far away from the places in Fort Myers as the ones from here (Port Charlotte), but it is MUCH easier to get to them here. So DH and I have ruled out Fort Myers. Looking at more places in Port Charlotte tomorrow.
Have a relaxing Sunday everyone!

No wt today. Eating pretty good. Found some banana pudding (my personal kyptonite) in the fridge at my son's house. Thankfully it was too sweet for my liking. The rest of the day's eating was good. The new RV site is almost ready for the airstream. It has a shop that we are planning on putting in a bathroom and laundry room. Went over there are heard turkeys in the woods. It is deer season and saw 2 just driving over there. I am not up to processing it by myself yet. We have an unusual number of them. The limit is 4 per yr per hunter in my area.
Carbon, enjoy your guests. Liz looks like a fun day. Shel, 16 yo daughter, my prayers are with you. When we did foster care we had a bunch of teen girls. Just keep in mind they do eventually grow out of some of that. Oh well, Happy Birthday DD Kairk, might need to get some grooming tips when we move to the woods. 45" to the closest groomer. We have good clippers. Not all the blades yet We have a haveneese that we keep in a summer cut all year long because he likes to go out and get dirty.
Seek peace. Do good.

Greetings Good Souls
Still at 132.5 after yesterday's total sloth day. Ended up spending the evening on the phone with family and friends. The dogs and DH seem to think its still sloth day. Even the puppy has been napping a lot. No doubt resting up for terrorizing us later.
Ate the rest of the pot roast so gotta come up with some new dinner item. I'm getting kind of sick of cooking now that I don't have the option of throwing some pasta in some water or getting chinese take out.
Well I gotta get out of the house today after yesterday's hibernation. Will go to the studio and see how a couple of pieces turned out and work on some more.
Dave, sounds like progress with the airstream. Good for you. Liz I hope you find what you are looking for in Florida. The sand sculpture is great.
Be good to yourselves all and that does not mean diving into chocolates. Diane S
Hello Friends,
120's today. I am dry ..... and not just in a no-alcohol way. My weight is influenced by varying amounts of water in legs and in my lymphedema arm. Currently the tide is out, not because of hydration status or anything I did. It is nice to have low tide visit on a holiday week. It makes me look like I am making better food choices than I really am.
I made it thru DD's birthday celebration intact. I ate more than I wish I would have. But not as much as I wanted to. Would someone PLEASE get rid of the bakery cake with lemon filling. Not a cake I would have personally chosen so it was a shocking trigger surprise.
My original post early this morning was much more angst ridden. My emoting apparently broke OH because it shut down as I hit submit so it didn't post. But since then I had a rockin' good yoga practice. I am now looking at last night as practice at doing something besides abstaining -- exploring my addiction and all that jazz.
DD had a good time, that is the most important thing. I like this current batch of friends. if anything, her friend selection seems to be improving with time. (Not that I have any business being judgmental.)
Hope you are all having a rockin' good day of skinny!
Shel

Late ck in but wanted to touch base since my tendency is to wait and then not. I was in a horrible place mentally this morning as I weighed, saw the number and then put on my jeans...they were snug! I worked through it and have had a controlled eating day. I've made green chicken soup for the week and am prepared.
It's been a wonderful holiday. I have 12 working days and then on another break. I think I can do it. For the first time in 26 years, I will not have to do a Christmas show...yay!
We bought new furniture over the weekend and it will be delivered Thursday. Merry Christmas to us! Next, I want to get rid of carpet and either lay tile or wood floors in the living room and bedrooms. It's always something.
Here's to protecting our skinny through the holiday.
This a recipe I found on OH from a former member. I love this soup. It's filling, low calorie and so healthy! I added jalapeño and some different spices for a little kick. I also used a rotisserie chicken because I'm lazy. Lots of variations...Hoping it helps puts me back on track. I used cauliflower, too...whatever veggies you have on hand is great!
Green Chicken Soup
3 Large chicken boneless/skinless breasts with fat trimmed (31o
2 Large cans of fat free chicken broth, low sodium (49.5 oz per can)
1 Bunch of Broccolini chopped (8oz)
3 Baby Bok Choys chopped (9oz total)
4 Small zucchini chopped (10oz total)
4 Large celery stalks chopped (9oz total)
5 Medium garlic cloves chopped
½ Bunch green onions chopped (1oz)
3 Large Carrots chopped (11oz total)
1 TBSP Dill Weed chopped
½ Bunch fresh parsley chopped
6oz Frozen green peas
6oz Fresh green beans chopped
In a large pot, combine all ingredients, except the peas and green beans. Keep the chicken breasts whole (you'll shred them later). Boil for about 30 minutes. Once the chicken breasts are completely cooked , remove them to cool (pull them apart a little bit . . they'll cool faster).
Meanwhile, put the vegetables and broth through a blender. (When doing this, it is a good idea to carefully pulse them in a blender with a towel around the blender lid and hold the lid firmly, as sometimes pressure can build with hot liquids in the blender. ) Then transfer the blended soup back into the large pot.
I came across this recipe when I read thru a zillion old posts during weight loss phase and used it regularly in the second 6 months. After months of almost 100% protein, this felt wonderful! Love it! It will feel great, too, during these winter months.
