No weight until Wednesday after I get home. Calories way too low yesterday as I am constipated and incredibly uncomfortable.  The joys of traveling... I'm trying to relax and drink a lot of liquid, but may have to resort to an aid - just don't want it to work at the wrong time.

Weather is warm and sunny (low 80s).  Did yoga on the beach and swam in the pool yesterday.  I could get used to the retired life (but have to wait a year).  Saw a great condo yesterday that the owner is selling (ran into her at the pool).  Really strong contender for location, shape, size and price.  Includes all the furniture which we like too (rattan mostly).  A lot of these "furnished" places have stuff that is awful. Going to Fort Myers today too look at more condos, but we've been hearing negatives about traffic, etc, so may not want to be there.

Also going to see the sand sculptures and meet up with friends for dinner so it should be a fun day.  Have a great one everyone!

We are house/dog sitting for DS#1.  we still have our oldest daughter and boyfriend living with us.  It is still non stressful and they are employed and starting to find their direction again.  Because they are there we didn't have to bring our 3 dogs.  So no going out to pee in shifts with the upstairs and downstairs dogs.  We feel like we left home without the kids.  The airstream lacks 5 items beings complete.  But progress is slow.  I really find a sense of accomplishment with each completed task.

Everyone have a great day.

Morning all

Good to see you Dave and congratulations Kairk!   Everyone seems to have had a wonderful holiday time.

calories yesterday were 877 but that is the result of being full from the 2am visit to chocolate cake.   Steps only 6985.

Today is visiting more craft sales with hands kept firmly in pocket, although one might be difficult as it has, as part of it, a massive white elephant component.  One year picked up a very expensive carving set for .25.

And all of this will be running through a howling wind and rain storm.   Please assure me that there is a sun still above us.

Happy Sat everyone.

Good morning!

Kairk, that was fabulous news about Ella.  Congratulations!  Also, totally agree with you that a great pie crust beats pillsbury creation every, single time. Liz, sorry you aren't feeling great, but it still sounds like you are enjoying yourself.  Dave!  Good to see you, buddy! Carbon, do you at least have snow in the mountains that you can focus on? (That is what I am holding on to.)  Linda, don't work too hard this (semi) holiday weekend (does your store do black friday????)

121's this morning.  I have too much on my schedule.....something has to give.  DD turns 16 today!

Go have some skinny fun!

Shel

Thanks Shel!  I agree about Ella (and pie crust, but I gave up making my own a long time ago).

Happy Birthday to DD!  My oldest was just returning to human at that age (early puberty) and my youngest was in the throes of the worst of teenage hood (late puberty).  They do all turn wonderful sometime in their 20's.

Things seem to be improving this morning (so far).  Not going out for another 90 minutes so hopefully all will be resolved by then...

Greetings Holiday Survivors

Sounds like we all made it through without too much damage. I am down 132.5 today. Go figure.

Kairk, congrats on Ella's championship. I know how great that feels. She is beautiful and exquisitely groomed.

Nephew and fiancee just left. It was great having them. The dogs adore them and hate seeing them go. Tesla was such a brat this morning that she had to stay in her kennel to calm down.

Liz enjoy Florida and dream about retiring. It will happen before you know it.

Made pot roast in the slow cooker last night and it worked out great for the guests. It was ready any time since we were not sure when they would get here.

Dave good to hear from you. A herd of dogs can indeed be a lot of work.

Our gallery is having a 4 year anniversary party today so I may have to go by for awhile. I remember 4 years ago how we rushed to get the place open in time for christmas business.

Well our team got royally creamed  yesterday. Fortunately I don't get too upset but DH has a fit.

Well onward and upward for the rest of the holiday season. Cheers.

Thanks, Diane! You know what it takes to pull the hair to make it look like that. Airedales are much more intensive that either Borders or Cairns. But I do love the artistry involved.

Need to try a pot roast in the Instant Pot! Thanks for the idea!

Aw, heck.... utter lack of water, lack of sleep and no lack of late night TV watching, internet surfing pumpkin pie and little old me is up two pounds this am from Thursday. Reality is a ***** BUT.... I started the day off right with a full 8 oz of water (and vitamin pills) and I'm drinking a 12 oz cup of strong Joe.

Some time ago Costco stopped carrying the Almond Dreams almond milk and started selling their own Organic brand of almond milk. Well, there is something different about that almond milk. The first is it is far more watery in consistency, but second, and most important there is something in it that does not agree with me. Within minutes of finishing it I get gut cramps. Sometimes so bad that I have to run to the Loo. So, Liz, that just might be the answer for you. LOL! I have switched to using FAIRLIFE milk instead. It adds 50 calories and 6 carbs, but it also adds an extra 13 grams of protein. Overall, I guess it's a good switch.

I am having a day of leisure. I decided not to show Ella today. It's rainy and I didn't feel like driving almost 2 hours and deal with the rain and getting a dog ready, etc... (Will show her tomorrow just for fun as a champion in Best of Breed. On Friday next I will find out if she is preggers. Fingers crossed.)

Shell, loved your scale #. Don't know why, but it made me smile. Perhaps vicarious living.

Enjoy your Saturdays, everyone.

129.2. Didn't want to post that but it is what it is. Eating wasn't even too awful yesterday!

Christmas tree and most of the inside decorations are up! Not sure if we will do outside or not, DH can make that call since he is the one that would put them out

Liz, Fort Myers area is where we will probably end up. My parents live there and the traffic can get bad but I think you get used to it.

Shel tell DD Happy Birthday! We have one Dec. 13th and another on January 17th with Christmas sandwiched in between.

Happy Saturday everyone!

Greetings again

Well its pouring rain and one of those days you want to stay in the cocoon. Laying in the adjustable bed with dogs curled around me watching football. Had to get up finally to get something to eat. Think I will resume the position.  You can tell I am having a really lazy day if I come on here twice.

Unfortunately the rain (plus I think all the major college football games today) have kind of spoiled our gallery anniversary party.  Such is life in the near rain forest.

Poor puppy has no one to play with since we are all comatose.  Diane S
