120.25 again. Calories just where I wanted them (I'm increasing them slowly).  Just got back from getting my blood drawn for my annual physical with PCP next week.  I HATE having to delay my coffee!  Plus it was 31 and the parking lot was blac****

Going to Florida tomorrow afternoon for 5 days of warmth and can't wait (so cold this morning)! Will be staying with friends in Port Charlotte, then meeting other friends in Fort Myers (one is competing in a Sand Sculpture contest - the picture below is the sculpture he made in Aruba this past June in honor of my son's graduation from college - my husband and son are with me in the pic).

Also spending 2 half days looking at condos to get an idea of what we may want to do for retirement (I'm retiring at the end of 2017).  We used to think we would travel every year to somewhere different, but with my husband's Alzheimer's, he really can't handle change.  I'm hoping that getting a place now where he has time to be familiar with it will give us at least some years there.  Though it would be cheaper to rent, the consistency of the place will be important for him.

Great photo.   Have a good trip and send some heat this way.    The weather is raw:  wet and cold.

Have a good day everyone.

Good Morning!!!  Happy Thanksgiving #1 today for us.  We're going to my parents today and Andy's tomr.  Its been a great holiday so far with the exception of a phone call when we were on an overnight adventure.  Andy's mom called and his dad was in a serious car accident.  Thankfully, he is going to be fine.  He's banged up  bruised and sore.  The beloved car is not.  We're thankful he did have a passenger or they would be dead.

I have pics on FB. We traveled to Pawhuska, OK to shop and eat at Ree Drummond's (The Pioneer Woman) The Mercantile.  It's a beautiful store and the food was good.  There was nothing in the store I couldn't live without; a little pricey.  We were going back in but we got the phone call and had to leave for the ER.

My food is not cohesive to weight loss. I'm okay with that.  I'm going to get through the next couple of days the best I can and go from there.  I'm trying to just enjoy the day and not stress.  Really tired of being anxious about food!!!

Anyway, Happy Thanksgiving to some of my favorite people.  Peace and Love!

122's today on the second reading.  I rarely step on the scale twice but when it showed me up 4 lbs I was skeptical.  In part because  I couldn't feel swelling, plus, it had been moved during cleaning.. I stepped on again and it literally spells out HELLO....... THINKING---....... and then finally says 122 which was acceptable.  I'm not getting on again.

Was exhausted yesterday, no activity, just a lot of being glued to my azz at work.

Tpday is a big day of getting ready for the big day tomorrow!

It is hard to be food mindful without turning into food anxious. For me, food anxious = more food = more anxiety = more food.  Yech.

Ok, off to early morning yoga.

Protect the skinny (non-anxiously!!!!)

Good morning! The rain poured down from 11:00 pm until ????, but woke to beautiful blue skies with puffy white clouds. It is brisk by CA standards - upper 40s, but will easily get to lower 60s later.

Weight was up .4 today. MOVIE POPCORN! Worth almost every bite. Went to see Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. Enjoyed it very much. I'm a big Harry Potter fan, so I guess it's natural I would like this new story, too. I discovered Harry Potter in the mid 90s before the series was popular here in the USA. I actually introduced Harry Potter to the kids at my school. Not often a teacher gets to do that!

Food Scmood! LOL! I completely understand Lesa's anxiety around food. At almost 5 years out I am certainly not where I would like to be and have had my share of angst in the weight, food, and emotional food baggage departments. The whole eat this, not that when you really want to eat that not this gets old, tiresome, and exhausting. There are days when it just seems easier to eat the way that's comfortable even if it's not supporting maintenance or weight loss. We all have our personal challenges that brought us to obesity and WLS. For some it seems that those challenges are dealt with successfully in the post weight loss phase. For others, like me, not so much. The best we can do is continue the journey and seek the balance we are after.

Let's all do our personal best today - what ever that may be!

201.  Heading back down. Made pork chops for dinner last night and they turned out pretty good, not that they're difficult, just new for me.  Not worried about Thanksgiving anymore.  I will go with the flow but am focused on getting back below 200 and continuing my journey downward.

My body likes 139's, for some reason.  Looking forward to organizing my life around fun ways to be active after retirement in .... listen for it ..... 23 more work days !!!   Really NOT counting the days.... trying to make the days count, but after 39 years in education.. there's some counting.  Will be in Redondo Beach for just under two weeks in February, visiting my daughter.

Here's to being mindful and balanced !

126.6. The stitches are out - hallelujah!

Took DS to the concussion doctor today. Off school the rest of the week, which is fortunate since he only had a half day today and the rest of the week is Holiday. No contact sports for at least 2 weeks. Needs to lay low to rest his brain.

Made the cranberries and Dutch apple pie is in the oven. Will make the rest tomorrow. Too much for sure - the boys are super excited! Everyone has their favorite so when I put them all together it makes a massive amount of food. Will try to make smaller portions of at least some of the dishes!

Still at 113 which is great but I wish my food choices were 'cleaner'. And maybe I'm being to hard on myself.

Reflecting on Lesa's and Devon's comments, maybe we're all being to hard on ourselves?  For those of you who have not been able to re-lose that 20-30 pounds for a very long time, would it make more sense to focus on a maintenance plan?  Maybe the self imposed angst is not what we should be setting ourselves up for?  A question that's largely directed at myself, but I'm putting it out there for everyone, particularly for those of us who are further out from surgery.

I say this because I realize that I still have limited insight about normies and acknowledge that I likely never will gain a whole lot more!
