Greetings Great Ones

Well I am not so great. 133.5. I did not eat badly except for a sliced apple with some peanut butter on it. And the jar was nearly empty so it wasn't that much. If I even sniff at some peanut butter its an automatic half pound gain.

Well we were shut ins yesterday due to rain. While I had a productive day with laundry, sorting and tossing papers and doing some finishing work on art pieces, it wasn't much for calorie burning. Dinner was chicken and carrots with pesto sauce. Seems like a soup night is in order tonight.

Things are stable on the family crisis meter and my younger brother is going out to seek our mother for Thanksgiving. She is continuing to lose weight and decline so I don't think there is a lot of time.

Kiln opens today so there should be a few goodies. Always fun to see what people make as these big kilns hold a couple of hundred items each. Our studio director is taking vacation so I will assume some of her duties -mainly banking.

Paula we should celebrate the stitches out. Its all downhill now. And Diane O, thanks for the bordatella reminder. My dogs are due for shots and I always keep them current in case I have to board them on short notice. Kennels won't take them without proof of current vaccinations.

Christmas shopping? Can't wrap my head around that. Our family decided to just quit that years ago except for the little kids of which there is only one right now.So we spend Christmas with a group of friends who are all retirement age and I give Starbucks gift cards or coffees or teas and such. Last year some friends lost their roof in a storm and were in a drippy house so I gave them a gift card for a warm dinner out.

A friend of mine has just published a book called "The Myth of the Level Playing Field". He is a  psychologist and I haven't read it yet but the title makes me think that in weight control there is definitely not a level playing field. We have been dealt some rough turf but others have it worse so ya make the best of what you have. At least we have our sleeves.

Have a great and healthy Thanksgiving all.   Diane S

114 today. Drive by post. Stayed out of the candy jar at work. Yay.

Peace out, everyone.
