Thursday 11/17/16
Endoscopy and colonoscopy tomorrow afternoon (what was I thinking when I scheduled that for afternoon ?), so G2 Miralax ****tails tonight, and clear fluids today. Hopefully, my esophagus looks robust, and options for acute reflux are reasonable.
Enjoy finding our groove, on this wonderful opportunity we share !

Best of luck Ocean! No weight today (DD in room). Went to dinner again last night, but wasn't too crazy and have 2 nights of leftovers. I'm planning on going to Zumba tonight so should be a good day exercise wise. Have a great day!

123.4. Itchy damn pokey stitches! Woke up with a stiff neck.
The bright side of the day is things are looking more up for DS #1. We have a Holiday parade to attend tonight (Ds #1 is the parade marshall for the HS band) and the temps should be in the mid 50's tonight. Almost unheard of for this point in Nov. in WI. Cold and probably snow supposed to come this weekend.
Still waiting to hear about the Fort Myers job for DH.
Have a terrific Thursday my totallly tubular friends!
Paula
122's today. I was justifying no exercise in my mind yesterday when I read Kairk's description of how difficult it was for those couple of obese gals to get around. I am sure they had a lot of pain, too. I flashed back to my SMO self and how physically difficult it was to simply exist. (Good for those gals for getting out!) I put coats on myself and Buster and out we went for a robust walk. No regrets.
Joey, hope you are feeling better! DianeO, fingers crossed for good news tomorrow. Paula, I see progress in your recovery, wish the itch would go away. Liz, it sounds like you are doing a great job weathering exposure to a lot of good food.
Should be a great few days coming up as we get ready for Thanksgiving. I make the majority of the meal which typically includes make ahead gravy. I could literally drink the gravy from a glass, I love it so much.
But, my gravy is time intensive, relatively expensive and I don't need that temptation in my house. So this year, I'm dumping the gravy and will opt to buy it from the local food coop instead. They have fabulous food in general. My husband's family always makes gravy from packets (!!!!!) so they literally don't care. In fact, they would probably prefer packet gravy but I am not going there.
Finding some ease in letting go of gravy. What's your gravy?
Peace and Hope and maybe a bit of Fun,
Shel

Hehehehe, guilty of being a packet gravy girl myself. Sometimes I "beef" it up , or should I say "chicken" it up with juices/fat from the bird and add cornstarch to help thicken. Overall I'm not a huge gravy fan so I guess packet gravy does fine by me. It is better then canned or jarred gravy - yuck!
LOL, I wondered who the audience might be a packet gravy fan!
I agree about jarred stuff. My husband loves jarred crap, of all varieties. So, I generally don't eat his creations -- that isn't such a bad thing because they are generally carb and calorie loaded anyway. He is a masterful griller, tho----much more VSG friendly.

Wt 227 UP 2 that is up 7 since the new med. My food intake is very consistent when I eat nuts and yogurt. I have some kind of stomach bug with watery stools so maybe that will move the scales back down. This is the 3rd day off Nuts and yogurt... again... and the 4th day off the new meds. I have no energy but did manage to do a couple of things in the Airstream yesterday.
To all that are feeling bad, I hope you feel better.
Diane O, I would choose to have 2 procedures in one day just to have 1 day of prepping and sedation. Hope all goes well.

GRAVY! LOVE IT!
I am the maker of gravy at all Ron's family's Thanksgiving events. No one in that family has a clue how to make it - even though I have tried to teach two of his sisters and his step monster who has a bachelor's degree in home economics. I make a very basic, but flavorful gravy. I do nothing fancy - no booze, no special ingredients. I'm a firm believer that gravy should taste like the meat, yet be enhanced by the caramelized fond.
Weight - down 1.2. Oh, boy oh boy, I am carb craving. Last night I could have eaten a loaf of cinnamon bread or some other sort of ooey gooey carbalicious creation. I even debated making whole wheat pancakes. Thank God we had just run out of milk! I had a small dish of Halo Top instead and it sort of did the trick, but not really. I went to bed craving a bit.
Shel, glad my post encouraged you to get out and walk. Diane O., good luck with the prep and fingers crossed for a positive outcome. BTW - I would have opted to do both the same day, too. Get it done and over with in one fell swoop! Paula, glad you're healing, but damn that itch! Everyone else seems to be doing well. Lesa and Linda, keep checking in. Diane S, that 133 is hard, but think about it - two weeks of tracking food, keeping cals low and protein high, you'll be back under 130. It's a ***** of a commitment, but it's doable. You don't want to be in my boat! Remember, it's not about moving. It's about cutting calories.
Today is my personal Thin Thursday. My goal is to eat like a naturally thin person.
Wishing you all a Thin Thursday!
