I started to write October- LOL.

Chef son is back from NYC job tryouts and cooked last night - so nice to have a "personal chef", but time for a job!  He decided NYC was not for him after all, because there would be no quality of life (70 hour weeks and long commutes) and his significant other doesn't want to move there.  Sigh... so his thought now is a resort in the Sunapee region of NH.  We just want him to be happy, but it really is time for him to find something. Hopefully he can get put this in motion.

121 this morning - I ate more calories yesterday because I apparently am not eating enough (since I'm still losing), but still kept it reasonable.  I only had a small amount of the so yummy sweet potato pie my son made with chicken and brussel sprouts.  I never had sweet potato pie before -Wow was it good!  Went to Zumba, but dog walks were short (rainy and cold).

Have a good Monday!

Morning everyone.

i know that every year the litany is the same:  how dark it is at 5pm.

A great food day but hardly any steps other then raking leaves.    Truly a lazy day.

123.6, getting close to my coveted Goldilocks number of 123.0. Too bad it takes major surgery to get me there.  I guess needing extra calories post-op for healing rings true for me, I saw a similar rapid decline in weight after my gallbladder surgery. Have been a complete sloth but necessary right now.

DH meet with the Dean and Asst. Dean in Ft. Myers last night.  Meets with the search committee today and has to teach a class and present a research project so they can assess his teaching style.

Have a mindful day today, training those brain-body connections in the way they should go!

Hello all!

127 this morning, getting close to the top of my range.  Feeling an adrenaline rush from these lofty heights!  Another vigorous yoga class yesterday --way more sweating than I am comfortable with.  Buster and I had a surprise dry walk yesterday which resulted in extra steps for the joy of it.

Balancing ease and effort today,

Shel

137's today !  Nice five mile walk and massage yesterday.

Sometimes I'm amazed at how much basic logic never occurs to me.  I've been vigilant at identifying and addressing cravings.  I started to see a real pattern around pretzels, crackers, toast (which I don't even keep in the house) which consistently leads to sweet cravings as well as processed food.  I am associating these foods with relief from the discomfort hiatal hernia. Clear as day.  Now, I can work with it, and focus on the long term resolution, not a short term bandaid that negatively impacts my overall health.

Have a great day !

113 today. I'm not feeling my best and have had some vomiting in the evenings. A lot of reflux too so will start with some diet refinements to see if that helps before starting further medical investigations. Testing takes forever here anyway.

Also seem to have an infection in my finger tip from a hangnail. It isn't improving and it seems they can become serious so may have to see a doc after work. Feeling overwhelmed on many fronts right now!

Off to face the world!

I had that happen with my finger tip last year. Had to take antibiotics but it cleared right up.

Don't want to go all Nurse practitioner on you Linda...but get that finger looked at!  I doubt the vomiting and reflux are related, but certainly an untreated infection can make you feel like garbage.  Take good care of your beautiful hands, you've only got two!

Spent part of the night in the ER with my mother.  She has an arthritic knee that is really swollen.  And she ran out of pain meds.  What kind of nurse am I to let her run out of pain meds???  Tomorrow for knee injection.  Today is back to the city for follow up with DW's doctor visit.

DD#1 and boyfriend are still here.  It is an ok situation.  They have been working but both looking for jobs now.  Personality clash with the new management.  The big boss is in Hawaii and has asked them to come.  If I was their age I would jump at it.

One phrase in recent post has really stuck with me.  Something along the lines of we work to balance between ease and unease.  Comfort zone vs uncomfortable.  I knew I struggle with it on several fronts but I didn't think it was a thing. Thanks for posting that Shel.

If there is a good side to my craving nuts and yogurt I have got to say it is the rest of the carbs are not a temptation.  You can put out a pudding double chocolate blueberry cheesecake served next to the nuts and yogurt and I will pick the nuts and yogurt every time.

Seek peace do good this week.
