127.2. Lots of raking yesterday. I went to bed with my shoulders aching!

Up bright an early for a 6:30 start time for work, at least that means I get out earlier too. Was supposed to have the weekend off but looks like I may be working afterall, bummer. I have a wedding tomorrow and DS #1 is having a Halloween party tonight, so we have a busy weekend ahead.

Have a great one!

You beat me today Paula (even though I am working at home)! Sounds like you have a long day too - and sorry that you have to work thus weekend! I have to clean my house this weekend (I'd rather work). DH has lost the organizational skills to do it. Sigh... I might have to get a housekeeper. I used to have one when we were both working but gave it up when DH retired and we moved.

Today is my 7 month surgiversary and I am 122.25 this morning! I guess that is a by-product of my crazy week (no time to even stress eat).

Have a good day! For a chuckle, I'm including a picture of my 25 year old DS who is going to a Halloween party in NYC this weekend.

Morning fam. No weight this morning and no snacking last evening. It's snowing this morning!  Decided to wear floral hosiery to cheer myself up. So far it's working.

DD and I will both be working today so this will be DH's first day on his own since surgery. I'm sure he will be happy to have the place to himself.

Peace and hope

141.2.  At a conference today so butt is in a chair.  They provided breakfast and I ate it...1/2 bagel with cream cheese.  Haven't had a bagel in over a year and not as great as I thought it would be.

Will go scout out the cafe at lunch to find protein.

1st 5k ever tomorrow morning!!

Love to all!

125 this morning.  Yoga'd yesterday but poor steps.    I give myself permission for no activity today unless I really, really want to.

"I want to be who I say I am"   That is a quote from today's OH front page article.  I think this article will have a lot for me to chew on but that one line caught my eye, already.

An MD and I were talking about metrics today, a new one being "turned on" is BMI.  Our conversation started with me asking if BMI is being tracked like that, are insurance companies going to start paying for obesity treatment?  He doesn't think so.  He also said that even tho he recommends WLS for pretty much everyone with BMI >40, only 2 people have been able to go thru with it because there are so many barriers deliberately put in place by insurance companies that supposedly cover it.   He is a long time physician with a large patient panel.  Pretty dismal.

Grateful today,

Shel

140.2 this AM.  Saw my gastro for pre-colonoscopy visit a few weeks ago. He wouldn't do my 60 year scope last year, as I wasn't far enough out from VSG. My upper GI was today.  Hiatal hernia is back and is going to need to be addressed. Also major reflux going on. I don't want my bariatric surgeon to repair the hernia, as my esophagus was so traumatized the last time he tried, and I ended up not being able to swallow anything for four weeks, and a PIC line. I don't want to hear a recommendation for a conversion, due to the reflux.

Down 1.2 from yesterday.

Some of you will be pleased to know that I was able to change my password on my classroom computer. Have not yet been able to change it on my email server. May have to get the district to do that for me.

Food was excellent yesterday. I also had a workout that killed me. I realized afterwards that the physical exhaustion might have had something to do with the fact that I had had fewer than 500 calories for the day prior to working out and I worked out at 6:00 pm.

Diane O., I'm so glad you have decided to post again. I very much understand the inclination to move away from the support system. It is a way for many of us to indulge in behaviors with a lesser level of self-awareness. I have actually found that strategy beneficial at times, but in general I find for myself that stepping away from support and accountability does not work so well in the long run. We come to this board with a lifetime of eating and coping habits that resulted in our severe obesity. It is normal that those behaviors and coping methods pop up. Simply because we had surgery, got thin, and look marvelous does not wipe away the previous years of coping, eating, self loathing, poor self esteem and image, emotional hang ups, etc... If you are like me, this will not be your first and last battle with old habits and mindsets. I now know they come and I am better prepared and accepting of those times. When I feel the wear and tear of it all, I consider myself a work in progress. However, I try to always think of myself and my weight and food life as a perpetual work of art - always evolving and revealing beauty. I know now, too, that even when the battles get ugly, there is a beauty that is still there.

I have a light weekend planned and am happy for it. Had Ella not gone down south for breeding it would have been a hectic show weekend (in the rain), so I feel a sense of relief and ease about the weekend. Most of the time my weekends are such that I have to schedule time to get the shopping done, food prepped, etc... This weekend will be leisurely. As a matter of fact, I am obligation free tomorrow morning. Unheard of! Hallelujah!

Greetings Great Peeps

131.5 today so feeling better about that.  Did what seemed like a lot of running around for Halloween stuff yesterday but my steps weren't so great. Today I do the same to get all the stuff I forgot yesterday.

Could not sleep last night so I played computer games and ate a spoon of peanut butter. Feel like I got away with a crime having not had a peanut butter pound show up as it usually does.

Diane O, sorry you are having issues. Not sure what to suggest but sending good energy.

I found napkins and paper plates the exact color of our lavender house for Halloween. Whoppee!

Well the sun is out and the rain has stopped for the moment and I am off to do banking for my Mom.

Puppy is asleep so we tiptoe around like you would around a baby, not wanting her to wake up and start terrorizing us!

Cool Halloween costume. I think I am going to wear a star trek shirt.  Take care all.  Diane S
