Weight Gain During Cruise Vacation!

Hubby and I got home last night from a two week vacation, nine days of it were cruising in New England and Canada.  The first 6 days we were in New York city.  Each day in New York we walked close to 10 miles, so I didn't feel too bad eating things I usually don't.  We had bagels everyday, but nothing else, and then more sensible lunches and dinners.

Once we got on the cruise, all bets were off.  I ate more cookies, bread and sweets than I have in more than a year combined after VSG.  Today, getting on the scale was awful, and I gained 8 POUNDS!  Todays weight was 147.4 Today, my hubby and I got right back on the high protein train, but it will take me a while to get this weight off and get back under my 140. I don't feel comfortable at this weight, and can't wait to get back to my new normal self.

I'm having shoulder surgery on Thursday, so hope that the high protein diet will help me to heal faster.  My hubby is the best nurse in the world, and I know he will take very good care of me.  Since he will be making all my meals for a while, there will be no excuse for me not to lose some of the weight.

You are still early out. Those 8 pounds should come off pretty easily and quickly. Good luck on your shoulder surgery. Doesn't sound pleasant!

Since I got back on track right away, I already lost 2.1 pounds of the 8.  Hopefully, the next month will bring me back to my fighting weight.

Thank you for the good wishes for the shoulder surgery.  It should improve my pain and flexibility, so I can get on with the crafting that I love.

Good luck - on surgery and weight loss.  It sounds like you have a plan.  I'm new to this maintenance routine so I'll be interested to learn from your experience.  I'm sure I will need to do the same thing at some point.

Thank you, I'll do what I can.  My plan is working so far, and I hope to have the weight off in the next month or so.
