Good morning my wonderful weight loss family!!
I am up bright and early today as the clinic I am covering opens at 7am, yuck!! Weight is 141. I need to do a mental shift now that I've chosen a weight range. My weight is up from yesterday which my mind wants to call a failure. But if I think deeper I know it's just a scale fluctuation that I need to be ok with.
I hope you all have some fun planned this weekend!! Even though I don't have time to respond to all your posts each day I really look forward to reading them and take a lot away from them. Thank you for sharing your lives and your journey with me!!

Morning and happy belated Diane.
yesterday travelled to a conference 5 hours away from home. So far it has been good and we return today. Last evening there was smorgasbord and my goodness trying to find veggies ad just plain meat was a trial. We are in Mennonite country and the delicious buffet reflected that. Lots of walking and listening so that was good.
have an excellent Sat.
129.0 ON THE DOT! I'm going in the right direction finally! Whole body is sore today, hope it is from moving and not that I am coming down with something!
I'm starting to unpack the kitchen stuff that we don't currently need at the new place. Not nearly as much space. Not sure where everything will go. Still need to pack-up more of the old house today too. DH works until early afternoon so unless I can shag my boys out of bed (doubtful) I will be going solo all morning!
Happy Saturday!

Up because soy sauce always makes me gain but I love it when I have it. Eating was on point. Steps were down.
I bought a ukulele a couple of days ago. The internet is my teacher. I am doing scales. I thought it would be good for my 59 y/o brain to learn something new. Got the ukulele because it will fit in the airstream.
Everyone have a great Saturday.

Hello Family!
121's. I love these early hours on Saturdays with a whole weekend looming. So many possibilities.....
Yesterday I forgot to weigh AND take my giant bag of perfectly portioned foods to work. I did get a lot of paperwork done! Maybe my brain can handle just one hot topic at a time. I yoga'd but steps were a bit sub par. I am feeling guilty about the steps after a few months of pretty fabulous numbers when yoga was off limits.
Some of my food addiction/weight obsession has transferred to an interest in exercise/body composition. Now I want a gym membership during the upcoming dark months. I already have 2 yoga studio memberships. I have most of the equipment needed at home for the functional fitness routine set up by my personal trainer.
I find myself researching the 24 hour gyms (as if I don't need sleep) especially with the ones with pools because, you know, I don't have a pool at home.
Speaking of gyms, I am always so impressed with Lesa and Devon's workouts! I know your fitness levels are amazing!
Dave is learning the ukulele! Will anyone be surprised when he masters it? No, I didn't think so.
Heather, it is a mental shift about natural fluctuations in weight! But, I am wondering if you can apply your ARNP brain to it....you don't get all worried when a patient's medical numbers fluctuate within a range, right?
Love you all!
Shel

Shel, I don't know why your stats caught my eye this morning, but when I saw today that as of this morning you have lost 240 pounds I welled up with emotion. You are such an inspiration and I so admire what you have been able to accomplish the past couple of years. Thanks for a little Saturday pick me up!
Well, I am glad to serve back some pick-me-up to you! I am grateful for VSG but also grateful for everyone who is willing to share their experience. You are a huge help on this board and the main forums as well.
The crazy thing is, I find it absolutely impossible to remember how much I have lost except that it is over 200 lbs. I cant remember my top BMI, either. It is quite bizarre......I don't have a general problem with remembering details like that.
I also find it so curious to see what someone at my former height and weight look like. I NEVER EVER pictured myself AT ALL at that weight. It wasn't that I had a false picture in my head, I had no picture at all. I think pictures finally began to kick in around 250-280.
The ostrich runs deep.

Shel, so well played on that advice! No, when a patients numbers fluctuate in a range I don't worry at all ;). Thank you for the perfect piece of wisdom to bring me down a notch. So grateful for you!!
