I've been out of my normal routine lately. Up dog sitting for my DS#1 and DIL. DW didn't come this time. Forgot my iPad so I'm typing this on my phone.  Yesterday went totally off the rails with my eating.  Fighting anxiety with food doesn't work well. Didn't even track it. Didn't weigh because scales here don't match numbers at home and I should return today. I did get a couple of 5 mile bike rides in last week. Something was blooming on the bike trail and made the whole ride smell better than usual.  I may try to get one in today if I don't have to work on bike to ride.

Y'all have a great Monday.

Off the rails! Those were the exact words that came to my mind this morning as I thought what I would type this morning. I have derailed! I do see light at the end of the tunnel though and I know I can get back on that track to good health. Damage, while still present, is minimal at this point and I can tackle it!

All time high weight of 131.8 since hitting goal last December. 1.8 lbs. above goal. My Goldilocks number is still 123 and I would like to get back there. It will come. I just have not made me the priority as of late, and the scale is showing that. I am only working a half day today, so I will get some exercise in. Packing can wait until I take care of me some!

So happy to see a bit of Paula-TLC on your very busy schedule!

Yes, damage really quite minimal to your scale number.  The mental piece of feeling derailed, tho, can be disconcerting, to say the least.  Onward!  (I was going to say forgive yourself but I don't think there is anything to forgive.).

A word from someone who has been down the stress eating path: You may be beyond your goal weight a mere 2 pounds, but take it seriously. If 123 is your Goldilocks weight, you are actually up 9 pounds over the past months. I am the king of putting my head in the sand and I have paid the price and continue to do so. Regain is a ***** and a half to get rid of on so many different levels. The emotional load it comes with is devastating.

So, my completely unsolicited advice: Stop and take a good hard look at what is happening. Is what is going on in your life worth being relaxed with your diet and putting on some weight? The answer may be yes, but most likely not. IF the answer is no then you'll need to stop, pause and figure out a way to include self care and food mindfulness into your day.

So much easier to preach than do, but may God be my witness, if I can stop you from going down my path I will do my damnedest to do just that.

Word.  I thought the same thing, but I didn't have time to respond. My 7# turned into 10# then 15# and all the way up to 25# at one point.  If I'd taken care of the 7# I wouldn't be here with the 15#. I don't want anyone making the same mistakes I did.  You think you can get it off now...try 4 years later...it's a real *****!!!  Do it now!  Life is always going to get in the way!

The train ran over me yesterday.   Had a panicked call from a group:  ' we need a cake!!! '.  Down hill thereafter.     And no walking at all.

today is a brand new day!!!

ever onwards.

Shel.   Thanks.

Whew!  So glad to see the early birds back.  I was worried that the West coast had finally been separated from the the rest of the world thru a massive earthquake.

121's, yesterday's eats and exercise were good.  Exercise included yoga and also a walk/run/skip combo.

Today my body is a bit sore :)

I am not wearing a single item of compression garments today just because I didn't feel like it.  Tomorrow, I will likely report that I am puffed up like a rum soaked raisin but I don't give a rat's azz today.

Thinking about Dave's nicely scented bike ride: I rather like aromatherapy and have various essential oils.  I was, of course, introduced to it thru the yoga folks and I promptly poo-poo'd it as nonsense but was quickly converted.

Long before WLS, I read in medical junk literature that the scent of grapefruit can dampen appetite.  (I don't like grapefruit so have never tried.)  I love lavenender before bed and citrus at the beginning of the day.

May you find a scent that puts you on your desired path.

Shel

117 - big yikes!  Feeling out of control so time to dial back the carbs, which should bring the calories back to where they need to be. Scale seemed very reliable upon retest this morning so I think it's the true number. And my jeans felt tight yesterday. so there.

Home!  My goodness it feels strange but nice!  RV is still out front waiting for today's cleaning but it's empty and most things are put away. Got my clothing back in my dressing room yesterday too, and things are starting to get back to some sense of order in our home.. Still have to do accessories and jewelry, but those can wait for another day.

Starting my new job at the clothing boutique with the first of several training sessions today. Four hours on men's wear, so Devon and Dave, stay tuned!!! Haha. I think I'll wear my navy pinstripe blazer as a nod to the guys. (Ladies fashion tip - men's suiting is on trend this fall.) Will wear with a crazy pair of skin tight jeans, which will likely remind me that I'm up a few pounds. Not punish, just remind. Right?

ADD:  Interestingly, I'm feeling some insecurity about my weight - fraud syndrome/gaining it all back. Haven't felt that way for a long time, but I suppose this is not an unusual reaction to starting an image focused job. Not to suggest people must be beautiful to work there, but let's face it - they wouldn't have hired me if I weighed 225 again.

Skinny jeans = mindfulness.

Have fun at the job!  Doesn't sound like work for you, tho.
